NYC CRUISES PLANNING/INFO ThREAD!

BON VOYAGE to all cruisers sailing out on the first Magic cruise out of NYC :wave2:

Does anyone know the pier number where the Magic is now docked? Approximately what (east-west) street level would that be? 41st?
Thanks!

She's at Pier 88 or Pier 90, which are around 49th Street.

What is the NYC Times Square Disney Store like? Is it worth going to? (it says it has a "magical new store design" on the website) Is the merchandise very different or New York-centric?

I have been looking for a shirt I saw several years ago in DHS in one of the stores on the New York City street -- it had the iconic "I <3 NY" design on it, but the <3 was a Mickey head. Well, when I went back to get it, they didn't have it. I have gone there on subsequent trips, and they never had it again.

I do think it's worth a visit. It isn't different from other refurbed Disney Stores across the nation, but if you haven't seen one with the Castle and "magic mirrors" and such, it's really fun to see. There is a good selection of NY Disney gear as well. Go during a weekday afternoon for smaller crowds.

Pier 88, 48th Street, is where the Magic came into on Friday. Right next to the Intrepid.

Did you all see the bumper sticker on the Magic? Someone made a graphic of it already:

Does anyone know how to make the bumper sticker graphic above smaller so I can print and make as a door magnet for our July cruise? I'm not really good at technology!
Thanks!

Just put it in word and resize it from there (dragging a corner)...

Do you have Photoshop? If I want to shrink/enlarge a graphic, I open it with PS Editor and once I click on 'print' it will offer different sizes or custom size, always keeping it proportional. So if I adjust the width to 8.25 (to fit on an 8.5x11 sheet of magnetic paper) it will adjust the height automatically to the proper proportion. I can turn it 90 degrees too to make it print 11" wide.

Without PS, I'm kind of lost. I don't know if you can do that in Windows. There is probably a way, but I don't know of it.

I print enough graphics to make it worth buying PS.

I've merged your thread with the NYC info thread. Tons of info can be found in this thread.

We are on the first cruise to nowhere, leaving on June 15th,for two magical nights. we are very happy to be leaving from NYC.

I do not post a lot,but I have been around for a long time, and love DCL and DVC and DisBoards, and would like a tag,if possible.

To those traveling from NJ, I got a great rate from a car service. We are going the end of August and are in Monmouth County. I got a rate of 99.00 (includes taxes and tolls) plus 20.00 for minimum tip in an SUV.

I called and got a quote over the phone, and then got a written one in email (it didn't come immediatley, but it did come). This is cheaper for us then parking so we are going for it. Hope it helps someone else!

how long does it take to get to nj airport from ship? is an 11:30 flight home too early....next one not intil 4:40

According to Google Maps, it's about a 30 minute drive to Newark.

Have you considered flying back to Boston via JFK? There are 12:30, 1:55 and 3:30 flights (at least on the day we are going back).

I went for it and we cruise June 2. I will let you know how it goes for this same flight on Jet Blue. Please PM me so I do not forget. Planning on just catching a cab.

From Monmouth - that is a great rate! I am going to see what I get from Passaic.
