NYC CRUISES PLANNING/INFO ThREAD!

I know this is somewhere on the boards...but for my NYC cruisers I figured I would ask....how much is parking at the Port? And where do I find the info for that?

Thanks....:thumbsup2

I received an email from Starwood. They're running a special for the next 6 weekends. Example:

Sheraton New York Hotel

Check in: 5/31
Check out:6/2
$249/night + taxes

go to http://www.starpicks.com to see if there are any good rates.

Is there anyone close to Hamilton Twp NJ Mercer County going on the 8 day June 22 cruise?

What is the NYC Times Square Disney Store like? Is it worth going to? (it says it has a "magical new store design" on the website) Is the merchandise very different or New York-centric?

I have been looking for a shirt I saw several years ago in DHS in one of the stores on the New York City street -- it had the iconic "I <3 NY" design on it, but the <3 was a Mickey head. Well, when I went back to get it, they didn't have it. I have gone there on subsequent trips, and they never had it again.

I swear I saw one (or at least that logo on items) when I ran in there a few weeks ago. It's usually crowded..and just a bigger version of the rennovated mall stores...but if there's something you're after, stop in.

They had it in 2008 when I visited. The shirt shrank badly lengthwise, it is now too short. If you find it, don't put it in the dryer.

They do have some NY themed items but, for the most part, it's just a really big Disney Store with all the usual items. Nowhere near as fun an experience as their old store was!

I agree! I miss the old Disney store. The new one is smaller and crowded. So far I only found one tshirt that I liked. Minnie on broadway. It photographs horribly. Where it says on broadway usually comes out as a big white band.

They do have some NY vinyls if you're into those. We got DS an I <3 NY one when we were up there in August. But they have all this stuff online, including the tshirt you're looking for, but it's only in pink.

Oh! I hadn't seen that somehow. Although I actually like the little girls' one better! (If only they had a little girls' XL, it might fit me!) It's not exactly like the one I saw a few years ago at DHS, but very similar.

It sounds like from what everyone is saying that I shouldn't go out of my way to go to the NY Disney store. Although I did see that they are open quite late at night, so if we happen to be in the area catching a play, I might pop in. I'm also hoping that there will be neat NY-themed merchandise on the ship. I guess we'll know any day now....

The Times Square store in a Disney Store, which is the same store that is in malls across the country. The old store that was on 5th Ave. was a World of Disney Store and was a division of WDW. I miss the old store too, especially when they had the art gallery upstairs.

I haven't been in the new store when it's been crowded, I've only been in there during the week with hardly anyone in there. Any more when I go in I just look at the items on the first floor to see if they have any new NYC specific items. But it's not a store that I must go in when I go to Times Square.

When you purchase any kind of tee shirt, always read the label, you need to look for a 50/50 blend in fabic,100 percent cotton will always shrink.:scratchin

I think it's worth a visit. They have many unique NYC themed items. My son's office is right around the corner from there and I'm always asking him to pop in and get me something. He got me a beautiful Mickey&Minnie picture frame for Mother's Day there.

We just got my daughter a New York Mickey sweatshirt on clearance at the reg Disney store in Massachusetts. Mickey is dressed like the statue of liberty. I thought it was perfect because of the NYC cruise. It was a women's extra small and she is 9. A little big but cozy. So maybe you can check out the reg stores or online.

Unfortunately, we don't have a Disney store nearby :(

So, I guess I will try and stop by the Times Square one if we get a chance!

I like the new Disney Store in Times Square. It's not as nice as the old that was on 5th Avenue before it but it does have some great interactive elements for younger kids.

For young girls (although my wife got a kick out of this too) there are two mirrors on the second floor. If you wave a particular princess's magic wand in front of it, it will play a clip of that princess's movie. I think there are 4 or 5 different wands/clips.
