and in the FLA news papers today it was confirmed that it was not swine flu.

I think so many people now get their news online, it causes the newspaper media to go overboard just to sell papers!!! And I stopped watching the news on TV but rather read on line so I can scan and read what I need!

We have flu season every year, and people get sick, and we all take sensible precautions. I've never seen such panic with such little information! I agree with your sensible attitude. Just looking over my calendar to make reservations late fall. I'm going to Disney World!

I can't find that information on any national or Florida news site (cable, newspapers, etc.) Please link to proof of your statement.

I love it!!!! Honestly though, We are leaving on May 21st. I'll make sure to carry the anti-bacterial gel. I'm really not worried. I have a co-worker right now hacking up a lung and I'm more concerned about contracting that then the flu! The media just makes it sound so much worse.

Before people panic they really should educate themselves about swine flu. It is a flu that is treated like any other flu. You can find reliable information at CDC's website. There are going to be more and more cases reported here, but it can be treated with anitvirals. The one reported death in the US was a mexican that came into the US and then died.

The people who know say that there will be deaths from this new strain of H1N1 flu.

That said, there are thousands of deaths each year from the "regular" flu.

Caution is warranted, panic is not.

I recommend that if you want the best information about this that you go to the CDC site. It will have the most up to date and accurate information that is publicly available. Realize that during any disease outbreak conditions evolve and can change rapidly. Be vigilant about following the basic everyday actions to stay healthy.

Now that is something the media should cover . Hacking lung co-worker. Do you wear a rain coat instead of (or along with ) a mask? I hate avoiding flying lung parts.

I know they could make money off it...maybe offer vacinations for 10x what they charge at your local doctors place prior to your ride. Then they could sell t-shirts, that said..."I survived the Swine Flu Review".....damn, they should offer me a job at Disney Marketing!!!
