We are going to DL in July. We have 3 FF tickets and purchased two all through Northwest. The problem is the flight to SNA is Comair to CVG and then Delta to SNA. If Delta stikes what are my chances of NWA honoring these tickets and putting us on a different flight to SNA? Any thoughts out there? :confused3

I called NWA and got a very rude sales agent who told me she had no idea what would happen to our tickets if Delta went belly up. NWA has not issued an official policy yet. Although she did say that they usually don't leave people stranded. Thanks NWA!!

Right now they aren't going to tell you anything. I would just wait. IF DL does go under THEN call and they will rebook you since they took your money etc. in the first place.

(Were your FF miles DL miles or NW miles? If they were DL miles all bets are off, if NW they should reroute you, but it won't be fun!)

I have two one way tickets on Delta (booked with NWA FF miles) in May. The return was booked on Continental, so no issues there. I emailed them and the response was they would do everything in their power to get us to our destination on time.

My concern is will they ask for more miles or a charge for a higher ticket cost. I think the Delta stuff will work out, but hopefully NWA is on the ball. Afterall, you and I have a NWA ticket, it just happens to be booked on Delta. If Delta does strike, I plan to immediately get on the horn with NWA and get them to make some changes to accomodate me. Hopefully all will work out, either with no strike for Delta or NWA rebooking me.

Good luck.

My tickets were booked using NWA FF miles. I called NWA again in hopes of talking to a CSR who was nicer and more knowledgable. She said that NWA would do what they had to to accomodate us. She said when NWA struck in the past they accomodated there customers on different airlines. I do wonder however, just like Duds, if they are going to try and stick it to us by asking for more miles and cash. Our flight home is on Continental and NWA.

They won't/can't charge you more miles or money to transport you.

Your miles are on Northwest, you paid Northwest. You have a contract for them to transport you within their best ability on or about the dates/times you booked at the price you paid.

So they will get you on the first flight they possible can. Since your trip is in July, you have plenty of time to make new arrangements and you will get to your destination and home with normal airport/airline scheduling.

Now if you had tickets on Monday or Tuesday, then I would worry about a long standby wait.
