I know Northwest's website says that "snacks are available for purchase," so I'm not counting on getting my tiny little bag of pretzels or peanuts. (Especially after seeing the prices of their snack selections.) But do they still give passengers the cup of ice and half can of soda? Cabin air can be very dry and I'd hate to ride all the way to MCO with a scratchy throat. Obviously I can buy my own drink in the airport if necessary; I was just wondering. (AirTran still had drink service when I flew in March.)

You get a beverage (pop, water, juice) for free and that is it - no snacks at all unless you purchase it from the flight attendant.

On the way to San Antonio from Detroit we got a glass of pop and that was it - we flew home from Las Vegas and we got the entire can of pop.

I would purchase what you want before you get on the plane if you think you are going to need a snack. I did purchase the snack box and it was good, but very expensive for what I got out of it.

We got small cups of juice, water, pop on our flight to MCO this month from DTW. On the way home, the FA gave full cans of Sierra Mist to DH and DS (though I think the she was just smitten with my DS and gave him more because of that..LOL)

NWA is the airline I'm usually on because we are at their hub. I can't think of a time when I haven't gotten a glass of ice and the whole can of pop, if that's what I ask for. Even on a short hop from MSP-MDW, I've always been given the whole can.

Snacks...the snacks they have in there for $5 are pretty good in terms of variety. I usually just bring stuff that I know I will like or eat before I get onboard.
