NWA and DME

We just returned from a 12/25 to 12/30 stay at the YC. On the DME bus from MCO to the YC they announced on the tape shown in the bus, that NWA is one of the airlines included in the DME agreement. When we arrived at the YC we talked to the people at the DME baggage area and they said the tape is a little premature, but NWA will be part of DME in the near future and there is a trial run at a resort or two.

That's good news! We were bummed that we had to haul the luggage back with us for our NWA flight earlier this week. Being able to check the luggage at the resort keeps a bit of the magic going as long as possible....

That's great to hear. We just booked on NWA. I wonder when it will start?? Hopefully before our trip! Thanks for the info.

:pug: When DME first started NWA was supposed to be part of it but wasn't for some reason. Hope the tape is right and NWA will be included next time we go.

Last I heard the reason why NWA hasn't started yet is that there are still a few bugs in the system for NWA. Hopefully they will resolve it soon, as the video has been saying that for quite some time now.

Wow, this is news to me! Back on Dec 5th when I booked a Feb 5th trip to the CBR. I specifically asked the cm at Central reservations if NWA was a participating airline, and she said all airlines were. So, I didnt give it any more thought until I read this thread. My confirmation papers all indicate I will be taking ME but I havent recieved my luggage tags yet. Should I be concerned about NWA participation? I guess I can call to confirm.

To clarify...

"Participating Airlines" *only* refers to the Resort Airline Check-In desk, which is seperate from DME.

Now that you already booked your plane tickets, you have no control over when Northwest "participates" (and nothing will change except on check out going home day). The yellow Magical Express baggage tags are used for going to Disney only, and they work with any airline arriving at Orlando Int'l Airport. ME still works even if you did not receive the tags. The requirement of getting return vouchers validated and getting a return bus time about 3 hours before your plane departs, in writing at least a day in advance of checkout, will not change.

Thanks for the clarification! I'm pretty sure I comprehend now, the Disney hints link from SeashoreCM was especially helpful. I think I am all set.

You won't receive your yellow tags until about 3 weeks before you leave. Ours came exactly 3 weeks to the day, and that was with the mail not being delivered Jan. 2. Now that's timing!
