This was our first trip to Walt Disney World
The cast:
Me27-NvrBnToWDW
DH29-Babe
DS11-Sci-fi Guy
DS9-Loudboy
After our nice, long relax in the Hippy Dippy Pool (those flower sprinklers are cold), we cleaned up and eat dinner at Pop, then refill our mugs with Coke slurpee and catch a bus to Downtown Disney.
We got there and immediately stopped to snap our X-mas photo of the kids with Goofy & Pluto. We passed by the scrapbooking store and I kept myself from going in. Babe asks if I want to but I've got over 30 rolls of film and it would take me 2 years to scrapbook them all. Instead we go to the Christmas store. Babe warns Loudboy not to touch anything. I get some purple Mickey-shaped bell ornaments because I always do my tree in purple. After that we
look around then I see the Under $10 store. Babe decides to sit and wait outside since it's extremely crowded in there. Lots of great stuff for cheap! There were $4, $6, $8 souvenirs, and then I see it! A wall full of souvenirs that are 4 for $10! There are even baskets on the floor with more stuff at this price! That's only $2.50 a piece at Walt Disney World! Now I have to buy for 9 nieces and nephews, plus 2 friend's kids and this is where I did it! I got a cute stuffed Mickey, 3 Lilo charm bracelets, a baseball cap, 5mousepads and 2 stuffed Minnie Cutie Dolls. I got all this for around $30! Even the CM said this was a great deal.
Next, we stopped in at Goofy's Candy Shop and Sci-fi Guy made a huge Pixie Stick. Loudboy got some m&m's in a bag for $2. Hey, it's Disney. I had to buy some chocolate Mickey pretzels and I've been craving them ever since. We stopped so the boys could pose with the Winnie the Pooh photo spot. They sat on the log and I thought "How cute!" as I took the picture. Then, right after it flashed, Loudboy punches Tigger in the crotch. So much for cuteness! Babe is laughing so hard he spits Slurpee all over himself! "Nice, Babe! I can't take y'all anywhere."
We go to the World of Disney cause I'm looking for a Mickey camera strap. The one my Canon came with is very thin and digging into my neck, but no one knows because you don't complain at WDW. We go into this massive, neverending store and we give up looking and just ask a CM. She doesn't even know and asks another CM. Finally we find one and I purchase it.
Now, on to Once Upon a Toy. Babe doesn't look too thrilled, but I promised the kids. It's almost 10 pm and I think all that swimming has made everyone tired. Immediately, Loudboy and I hit the Potato Head table and start stuffing. Babe takes Sci-fi to find Indiana Jones figures and leaves us there. I tell Loudboy to just wait and buy a Potato Head at Walmart back home so he'll have more room for the parts. But we're still having a hard time fitting them all in. "This is a job for Dad." I know Babe can do it, he's worked in warehouses for many years and is an expert in loading trucks, so this should be easy. I find him and ask him to help Loudboy, while I look around with Sci-fi. We find Indiana Jones and he buys all of the figures and then I see Muppets stuff. I see a Scooter way up high on display, then I find a CM and ask if they have any more. She says no, but she'll get the display down if I want it. "Yes, we've been looking for it everywhere." Loudboy was so happy! Here comes Babe with that box of potato parts and says he's having a hard time fitting them all in, so he plops down on the floor and dumps them all out. He sits there for 10 minutes and gets them all in! Way to go, Babe!
Next, we have to go to the Sports Team store. Babe, finally has a request. But, once again he finds nothing! He hasn't bought one single item this whole trip, so we leave. When we come out I see the Lego store up ahead, but Babe motions to me that I don't say anything, he wants to go "home". The kids don't see the store and so I don't mention anything. I feel bad, but everyone's tired. We get on our bus and they make a stop at Pleasure Island. Some people get on that have obviously been drinking and there aren't any seats so they have to stand. Which in their state is near impossible. Now, those bus rides ought to be a ride themselves with all the holdin' on and struggling to stand still. Those poor people could barely hang on! I think the driver did a little extra sharp turns just to amuse himself with their trouble standing. I just knew one of them was going to wind up in the lap of someone else. Another one looked like he was about to get sick. I think they might need a bus all to themselves with lots of seats (and maybe some buckets).
