Sorry I had to cut this report into 2 parts. I'm a mom and had to clock in and make dinner.
This was our first trip to Walt Disney World
The cast:
Me27-NvrBnToWDW
DH29-Babe
DS11-Sci-fi Guy
DS9-Loudboy
Well, we after I got my precious camera back we headed to Indiana Jones. The kids and Babe loved it. I'm glad there are plenty of "guy" things to do at WDW. They rent one of the Indiana Jones movies every time we go to the library, so this was one of their favorites. After that we walk around looking at souvenir shops and Loudboy is on the hunt for some more of those Cutie pins. We see a couple of other attractions and come upon Jo-Jo's and Goliath from Jo-Jo's Circus. Now my boys are way too big for this, but we must get a picture of them for my mother because she's a clown. I mean literally, she's a birthday party clown and would love a picture of the boys with Jo-Jo. So they get in the line and never complain, they're smart, they know there's no complaining in WDW. We get up to them and Loudboy gets an autograph from Jo-Jo, then is trying to hand the book & pen to Goliath, but Goliath won't get it. Jo-Jo, motions with her fingers and points at Goliath hands and we all start laughing. Goliath has no fingers and can't sign or even hold a pen.
It's almost 2 and I notice it's starting to get hot and I know Babe needs a rest, so I suggest we go back to Pop and take a swim and then come back in the evening since it's EMH night and will be open til midnight. Everyone agrees, so we start heading towards the front and then I see the Tower of Terror, then I remember. The only request I had for Mother's Day was to see "Beauty & the Beast". I didn't care that the other mothers were going to eat at fancy places like Cinderella's Royal Table and that I was going to be eating at Sci-Fi, but I did really, really want to see "Beauty & the Beast". Now, Beauty & the Beast is very special to me, because our first date was to the movies and we saw B & B. Also, it was the first movie we bought for
Sci-fi Guy when he was just a little saucer. I stopped everyone in their tracks and pulled out my show schedule and I missed it, it started at 2:15. The next showing is not till later when we'll be at the hotel swimming. I was really disappointed and Babe suggests that we stick it out till the next showing at 5 something. I look at them and obviously, noone will be able to stick it out, so I kind of pouted and said "Maybe next time." The kids get sad and say, "But Mom, that's the only thing you asked for on Mother's Day." "It's okay," I say. Now everyone is sad and suddenly something makes me pull out the show schedule again and this time when I look at it, it says 3:15, not 2:15! I misread it the first time! What time is it? It's 2:30! We can make it to the 3:15 showing! Everyone is happy again, it must be magic! We practically skip on over to the theatre and I've never seen 2 boys happier to see B & B, but it's just cause they want me to be happy. They're so sweet!
Beauty & the Beast was sooo great! It was better than I even hoped! We sat on the 4th row and I got some great close-up shots of the actors.
The show ended with a thunderous applause and we left the park back to the hotel. We opted for the bowling pin pool cause the hippy-dippy pool was packed! The kids had a great time! Babe looks much better, we swam then he & I relaxed on the lounge chairs sipping coke slurpees. This is his idea of vacation and he deserves it.
At about 6 pm, we headed back to MGM and rode the Backlot Tour ride. But not without Babe asking if it was a simulation ride. When we got on the tram, the seat was a little wet and Babe said, "You're gonna sit here & get wet. Ha, Ha!" He sat all the way on the left and I was silently laughing to myself, cause I was sitting all the way on the right. We got to the part of Catastrophe Canyon and when they made it rain, he looked at me and I had the biggest smile on my face and he knew something was up. Here it comes! "HA, HA, HA, Who's gonna get wet?" I teased.
Now off to Pizza Planet. "Yes, I would like 4 mediocre tasting overpriced pizzas for my family." "Thank You." No one asked to play any games and that was just fine by me.
It was about 7:30 and I tell Babe that the Fantasmic show starts getting packed early, so we head towards that. We got there and people had already started getting good seats, so we found a spot far enough back that we wouldn't get wet, but close enough to see. The kids were getting a little antsy about sitting so long and one of my cheeks was asleep. Babe decides to get some snacks just to let his legs stretch. So, I send him to get a chocolate banana, popcorn, cotton candy and whatever he wants. He's gone a long time and in that time I was asked at least 8 times if that seat was taken. Finally, he was back and hands me my choc banana, and Loudboy his popcorn and is holding a water bottle. "Where is the cotton candy?" I ask. He forgot it and had to go back, and then I was asked 4 more times if his seat was available. Babe, no more getting up!
Finally, it was 9 o'clock and the show started and it was FANTASTIC! We had never seen anything like that, I think Babe's mouth was open the whole time. The boys didn't move, not even to eat popcorn or cotton candy. Sci-fi Guy loves Fantasia and really appreciated this. Then the show ended and then the toe shuffle began. Being from Texas I have seen many cattle drives, but this was the first time I participated in one. Maybe if the CMs had cattle prongs we would have gotten out much faster.
We're out and now on our way to the Great Movie Ride. "Is this..." "No! It's not a simulation ride. I know you can't ride those." It was so fun seeing the movie scenes. I love the Wizard of Oz! Loudboy really liked the Mun-chickens (as he pronounces them), but he covered his ears and closed his eyes during the Aliens scene. Sci-Fi loves anything having to do with movies and I know he was soaking this all up. We left the park at 11 pm to avoid the midnight crowd and stopped at "Everything Pop" for some dessert to take back to the room. We stayed up til 12:30 watching TV and talking about our favorite parts of the day. Loudboy says, "Mom, I'm glad you got to see Beauty & the Beast on Mother's Day." "So am I, sweetie." Sci-fi Guy says, "Thanks Mom, for taking us to Sci-Fi Dine-In on your day." "It's not my day," I say, "It's OUR week."

Episode 5 coming soon!
