Do you think Disney knows we are the new owners? We have the contract #, do they go by that? Maybe our papers were lost in the mail (we have really bad mail service!) I will TTS tomorrow and maybe Disney too. Thanks for being here!!!

I can't believe I'm still waiting. We purchased BCV on Feb. 26th. We finally mailed our final check which was deposited on April 21st. The Timeshare Store said it would take up to 6 weeks to have the deed recorded. I was really hoping to have our points for next year at Easter. But now we won't have them until June. I've already got our plane tickets. Just need a room. Does this seem like a really long time from start to finish? I can't believe it, but I know it's worth it!

The Timeshare Store told me that it would take maybe another 6 weeks from the time we FedExed our closing papers to them, to the time the deed was recorded. It's been 4 1/2 weeks since they received all our closing papers and check. Do you think I should call them?

That is totally crazy!!! Have you called Member Services to check and see if you're in the system? They are correct in telling you that it takes about 6 weeks for the deed to be recorded, but that has nothing to do with you getting into the system and your points being deposited. Have you received anything from the closing company telling you that you've closed?

Disney does not have to wait for the deed to be recorded before putting you into their system. If TTS provided Disney (non-recorded) notice that you have closed on your contract, and they should have done that, you should have been in the Member Services system within 7-10 days, with points added to your account within 3 to 4 days after that.

My contract closed Monday, and the closing agent (Timeshare Title and More, LLC, which many of the resellers use) told me I should be in the system within the time frame noted above. If TTS is waiting until your deed is recorded to refer you to Member Services, they are doing you a disservice.

Laxlad got to play. He got to play the entire 4th quarter and some of the third. The got beat 12-7 but......Laxlad SCORED 2!!!!! He was so comfortable even though it is a faster and more physical game. After those goals went in, he kept his cool. His dad and I did not!!!!

There is a story here. Humor me. My brother played football. He scored and hooted and hollered, high fived and all. Afterwards, my Dad congratulated him but the old coach in him had to teach. He said, "Son, next time, act like youv'e been there before." Laxlad acted like he had been there before. And again, my Dad would have been so proud!

Great story. That's one of the things the Bear used to tell his players.

And with regard to:

Whooo hooo Tammy and 10000 volts!!!! I called and emailed the closing co with no response. Tomorrow I call GMAC and see what they can find out!!

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I am a little upset, and wondering if I have been too hasty in characterizing my exeriences as good, with a certain resale company. I e-mailed and called today, to try to get some information about getting a contract down here to sign, before we go see the grandkids...and no response at all. No e-mail, no answer to the voicemail.

SSR is still attractive from DVC as an add-on.

basically- say you got 100 points- with incentive it is $94 per point- then you get a $500 Disney Gift Card (as good as cash for the likes of us;) ) That effectively brings the price down to $8900 (or $89.00 per point). No closing costs- all 07 points (possibly with little or no MFs) all 08 points...
It is hard to find a contract that isn't stripped in the 1st place- and it looks like $82 is a number that is hit or miss with ROFR- so if you really didn't want to risk getting ROFR'd you would probably offer $83- then there are closing costs...

So if you have plenty of time to gamble and make lowball offers in hopes of passing rofr- you can definately save money buying ssr resale. (I have seen some great deals slide through lately- but some stripped contracts got bought back at $82) Direct from Disney is in the ball park and it is fast and easy- I could see why one would buy direct at this point.

I wonder what will happen to resale prices at ssr when they sell out and there are no ore incentives on it.

I think I saved a lot buying HHI resale- I got 100 points for $67.00 per pt. Would have been $89.00 through Disney- but I would have gotten 07 points through Disney so not apples/apples.

In your scenario, I received the deal of the century then...$78/pt for 350 - with banked '07 and all '08. I paid cc and '08 mf. My guide quoted it as $83+/pt which I believe they tack on the mf's to get to that number so I'll enjoy my "Deal or No Deal" moment!! :cool1:

Yes - call! My deed has not been recorded and probably won't be for another 2-4 weeks but I've already made a reservation with points. My understanding always was that you closed on your contract and within 10 days Disney should have you in the system. The deed is just being filed with the county - like any other real estate deed and that takes a little time.

I can't believe what's happening with you Grandbuddy!!!! I read the postings about GMAC - I've actually responded to one or two myself that I had a little tougher time contacting them but I did always hear back within a day or two. However I bought from someone else who answered the phone every time I called and answered every email and inquiry from the start within 2 hours or less.....even on weekends! **** and Jaki - I'd recommend them in a heart beat!!!!! I've also heard that they can sometimes access the GMAC listings?

Hey Mickey.....Grandbuddy wants some points so please get them to him!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Here is the info from the TSS FAQ page.

WHEN CAN I MAKE MY FIRST DVC RESERVATION?

”About 7 days after closing. DVC enters you into the database as a DVC Member and you may begin making reservations by calling Member Services (edited).”

I do not understand why they would tell you otherwise, unless it was just a generic letter since a lot of other timeshares follow the procedure you received.

It is not always 7 days it can be 14 or even more.

Have you called DVC to see if you are in the system?

I would definitely call the broker and see what is going on.

Good Morning Sunshines! :goodvibes

I love my days off. Today I plan on finishing up the backyard so when we go out to swim it looks pretty. And a little laundry. DH is offshore so I'm going to have a pretty lazy day. :rolleyes1

I got my member cards shipped from Disney yesterday. Did you all know that I've been a member since August of 1999! :lmao: And I've still got the back up cards Bernard had printed for me when we visited Disney. So, I'm in great shape.

I've head great things about Jacki and ****. I know when I called they were very, very nice. Unfortunately they never had the contract I wanted so I didn't get to deal with them.

I'm happy about the Idol finale last night...:rolleyes1

Good morning all! Got an extra hour of sleep today!! Laxlad started exams so doesn't have to be to school until 9:30.

It is funny to me that so many people sing the praises of TTS. My experience with them is what a lot say they had with GMAC. I called them looking for a contract, as I did all the big resellers, and the guy tried to talk me out of HHI and was not friendly at all. I felt more like an inconvenience. He said he would add me to his list. It seemed like he didn't want to deal with a small contract like what I was looking for. I wasn't impressed with their customer service.

I just heard the saddest news. Stephen Curtis Chapman's daughter was struck by a car and killed. Maria was 5 yo. They just reported it on the news. My heart goes out to him and Mary Beth. And we were just talking about him here yesterday.

That is an awesome deal! Enjoy!

Anywho...more makin' bacon a bit later this morning and then a bit of down time! No baseball tonite!!!!!!!!!!!!! DS11's team got smoked last nite and he didn't have his best game ever.

I agree Laxmom - I contacted TTS about what they had for smaller contracts - they tried to push me towards something larger. I asked to be put on a list for small contracts but never once received an email, even though I saw 2 contracts actually make it to their website that were exactly what I requested. Now, by that time I had already made an offer (on something larger :goodvibes ) but I wasn't impressed. However **** never pushed anything larger - I actually brought that one upon myself - and then he went to WL and did a video to keep me "occupied" during ROFR and Estoppel. That was above and beyond! :flower3:

I'm just sick.

I've heard great things about Jaki and ****. Much sweeter reviews than many of the other resalers.

As you all know, Kris is making an offer through GMAC, having purchased once through TTS and once direct from Disney. I told her I can't imagine that any of the big resalers are much worse than the others. At least, I hope that for her..:lovestruc

I got my member cards from Disney today. Mine say I've been a member since July of 2003. I wish! :rotfl2: Do you know what years Disney sold BWV's?

I contacted Jacki and **** about a contract early on and they offered several times to search for a contract for me if I was ready to buy. I didn't know at the time if I really wanted to buy or not and got a little scared off. I have to say that they do actively want to have your business and if I were to ever buy resale again I would definitely look into buying from them.

I agree, Tammy. I don't think there are any that are any better or worse than any of the others.

Grandbuddy, I understand.

We are so excited!

We just found out Disney waived on our contract!! YEAH!!!

Our offer is as follows:
135 AKL points $90/pt, 135 banked 07pts, all 08pts.

SO excited to tell our 9-month old , although, I think he's probably wondering what all the fuss is about and why we are checking our email constantly! His first trip to Disney is in December so he'll know then!

OK, just threw all my plans up in the air....I'd planned that next May DH and I would take a trip to BWV, then in June I'd take my daughter ( just like this year) to AKV...see if the GFs are up for another F&W and then Christmas at BWV ( getting a 2 bdrm to take my Dad and Mom )...

Well, spoke with my Dad today and he's afraid we won't get to time the Xmas trip correctly, so he wants do do a family trip in June...Which is fine...except there goes my idea of AKL concierge in June..( Dad wants to stay at BWV so we can walk to the parks..) AND I have 50 07 points that I need to use by June 1st...ACK.

Back to the drawing board...
