I will add that I grew up falling asleep to Peter, Paul and Mary and the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour. I had to share a room with my sister that was 16 years older when I was about 3 yo. Puff the Magic Dragon was my favorite....and my sister had (and probably has) no clue as to what it was about! :lmao:

are gonna be amazed at the number of pages they'll have to review to catch up!

Glad I went out makin' bacon! :thumbsup2 I won't have time to catch up on all these sappy songs thank goodness...I'll take your word for it! :lovestruc

I'm old school...hasn't been anything good since the 70's anyway. :hippie:

Look what I just got..!

Tammy,

I just received the seller’s documents and have requested a payoff from DVC. I should have this closed tomorrow.

And how many more days did that take than buying your AKL points? (I would ask why we do this to ourselves, but I know the answer - $$$.)

I submitted for ROFR on 4/7. Should close on 5/22 which is early ( I think the original contract would close on the 30 or 31st )

So, that's great! Last time I closed about 10 days late..

I definatly saved money buying BWV resale. The cost was 87 PP and add on 6 PP for closing costs and you're still at 93 VS 104 PP AND Disney has a waitlist for BWV, too.

I'd buy resale ( whenever possible ) for anywhere except AKV because at this time, Disney ends up being cheaper ( at least for small contracts ;) )

We just got our closing docs via email. I guess we'll go to the bank Saturday and get a cashiers check and FedEx it. It will be cheaper than paying those ridiculous wire transfer fees, and the $ will get there sooner. "Wire transfer" is a misnomer -- it sounds like it should be instantaneous, but it's anything but. It takes up to three business days!

Sad that we can pay an eBay seller instantly via PayPal, but can't transfer funds from my bank to another bank online. The banking systems seem antiquated.

Ed,
Have you seen the version of "Sweet Home Alabama" by the Leningrad Cowboys (Russian rock group) with the RED ARMY BAND!!! I kid you not! It is absolutely unbelievable.

Oh, but you have to. You might miss something.

That may be one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I wonder what Ronnie Van Zant would have thought.

SSR is still attractive from DVC as an add-on.

basically- say you got 100 points- with incentive it is $94 per point- then you get a $500 Disney Gift Card (as good as cash for the likes of us;) ) That effectively brings the price down to $8900 (or $89.00 per point). No closing costs- all 07 points (possibly with little or no MFs) all 08 points...
It is hard to find a contract that isn't stripped in the 1st place- and it looks like $82 is a number that is hit or miss with ROFR- so if you really didn't want to risk getting ROFR'd you would probably offer $83- then there are closing costs...

So if you have plenty of time to gamble and make lowball offers in hopes of passing rofr- you can definately save money buying ssr resale. (I have seen some great deals slide through lately- but some stripped contracts got bought back at $82) Direct from Disney is in the ball park and it is fast and easy- I could see why one would buy direct at this point.

I wonder what will happen to resale prices at ssr when they sell out and there are no ore incentives on it.

I think I saved a lot buying HHI resale- I got 100 points for $67.00 per pt. Would have been $89.00 through Disney- but I would have gotten 07 points through Disney so not apples/apples.

I can't believe I'm still waiting. We purchased BCV on Feb. 26th. We finally mailed our final check which was deposited on April 21st. The Timeshare Store said it would take up to 6 weeks to have the deed recorded. I was really hoping to have our points for next year at Easter. But now we won't have them until June. I've already got our plane tickets. Just need a room. Does this seem like a really long time from start to finish? I can't believe it, but I know it's worth it!

Ok, I'm confused. Maybe some of the dis-vets here can help. My understanding was that it was typically about 10 days from closing to having points in the system. And, as I understand it, the time between having your final check cashed and closing should be pretty quick. Are you telling me that they are taking 6 weeks to close after you made it through estoppel? Or are you taking 6 weeks after closing to have the deed recorded. There is something off here that is confusing me. :confused3

I agree...any contract started in Feb should be closed by now. Especially if you sent your closing check a month ago..:scared1:

The Timeshare Store told me that it would take maybe another 6 weeks from the time we FedExed our closing papers to them, to the time the deed was recorded. It's been 4 1/2 weeks since they received all our closing papers and check. Do you think I should call them?

Yes! TTS received my check a week ago today. I'm closing tomorrow. That contract went to ROFR in April.

Something sounds wrong..:confused3

I just checked the papers again and it said we would receive our deed in 4-6 weeks. They would then provide Disney with a copy of the deed and notify them that we are the new owners. Is this what everyone is experiencing?

This just doesn't sound right! I can see it taking that long to receive a copy of the paper deed, but if you've already closed (which you should have), you should be in the system with Disney. I would definitely call. TTS has an 8 week estimate in their faq's, and they are WAY over that. When you call, update us, I'd like to know myself.

Yes, yes, yes!! Something is really weird there. Has anyone seen anything like this? Most go to ROFR, then estopple, they send closing docs, you close and are in the system about 10 days later. 6 weeks is the normal time from start to finish - not from paying to closing. I'd be calling and getting more info.

Whooo hooo Tammy and 10000 volts!!!! I called and emailed the closing co with no response. Tomorrow I call GMAC and see what they can find out!!

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Laxlad got to play. He got to play the entire 4th quarter and some of the third. The got beat 12-7 but......Laxlad SCORED 2!!!!! He was so comfortable even though it is a faster and more physical game. After those goals went in, he kept his cool. His dad and I did not!!!!

There is a story here. Humor me. My brother played football. He scored and hooted and hollered, high fived and all. Afterwards, my Dad congratulated him but the old coach in him had to teach. He said, "Son, next time, act like youv'e been there before." Laxlad acted like he had been there before. And again, my Dad would have been so proud!

I bet you have closed already. Shoot, you may even already have points in the system. You don't have to wait for the deed to make your ressies.
