I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but I thought everyone would like to know!

I spoke with Host_Bella at the Pirate and Princess party just now and asked if she knew how many people won the big quest? She said "A little over a grand".

So, congratulations to everyone in the "grand" winner's circle!!:cheer2:

Wow. I don't think they expected more than 500 at absolute most. Which is probably why they closed it 10 hours early.

They just seem to want to keep things rare. :sad2:

That's exactly my suspicions on the matter...

For as many people who play vmk, 1,000 or about is a few, probably percentage wise, Weather you won or lost, I would have to think overall there was alot of things they could have done to improve the situation, first off not having such a high pirates score, but even if they did not change that, then have more lobbys open, why not a fast pass system to pirates? like going to a host room, be in your room or in a public area and when your turn ,you go to lobby. Would eliminate the lag there, and also when tensions are high, would eliminate people hanging around during a frustrating event, and saying things that maybe normally they would not say, or well maybe would LOL.

I still think though if you found the quest frustrating then please use contact us and tell them why you did and if you have solutions offer them, there not going to know, unless you unite and tell them, if they have alot of mail come in, negative or positive they may look at it, I know when vmk does something positive and they have, I have written them and told them that, and also I wrote them about this event and gave feedback on what a bad event I personally thought it was.

I'm with you and pirate on this one. They did not expect so many people to sacrifice for one another and work together to get people through this quest. I wonder what the number would have been had they continued the quest until closing? :confused3

Well, if you are to believe the statements in Yavn speaks, (several?) players were using computer programs to complete the quest. I would think we could take from these comments that these people did this many times. This would increase the number of "players" that completed the quest - AND be a larger number than VMK staff had calculated on finishing. I don't think its an issue that they wanted to keep the items rare so much as didn't want a small set of individuals to get a large quantity of prizes.... I think.

What I do not understand - and would love any explanation someone out there may have - is the following: Were these "fake" characters that were programmed to run the quest automatically somehow? In other words, the 30 ppl that were in line in front of me for the pirate dock every time, were they just programmed peeps running a system of commands as opposed to actual players? I really don't understand why they cant IP identify the computers that were doing this and ban them - rather than essentially ban everyone that is working on the quest.

Because I personally know several people that were muleing this quest I am not supprised.

I am really not happy with the way this was dealt with by VMK. I mean if they know that 90% of people failed this quest due to not just the high score needed in pirates but the inability to even get in a lobby only to be met by groups of people that would not start their games becasue they had a friend 24th in line waiting to get in the lobby. There could have been a set amount of time you have to stand in a lobby, or open more lobbies?

All in all this quest was just another example of why I think VMK needs some new people in the decision making positions. I never thought I would be more sick about anything after Dreams month, at least in Dreams month they failed us in this quest we failed due to odds being stacked against us, poor planning and VMK being overcrowded with mules.

Not cool

Fool out

WOW! i didn't figure there would be that many! Congrats to everyone, i know it wasn't easy and I commend everyone who tried to help other people too:thumbsup2

Well I think the most I saw on at one time during quest time was 7000+ so 1000 of them would be 1/7th of the total population (mule/main doesn't matter to me) or about 14%... And even taking into account that on normal "high traffic times" the total number is closer to 6000 people on- (getting us a little closer to 20% but not quite there). I'm sure they didn't expect that large of a percentage- they were probably thinking closer to maybe 5% to complete it.

I honestly think the only things in the prizes that will remain "rare" is the full use treasure detector magic (maybe given out as a rare prize like inferno used to be) and MAYBE the silver ears - although I think even those should later have another alternative to earn- one you have to work on- but...

I was guessing from the start that probably about 500 would get it knowing the average numbers of players and seeing people here working together- after yavns comments I actually expected that more got it then the 1000 quoted by Bella
