It's available at the Zawadi Marketplace (the gift shop in Jambo House), but I'm not sure if it would still be open by the time you get to AKL from the airport. I'd probably just wait until you enter the park the next morning.

Thanks for the helpful information. It would be nice if it is still open! One less thing to do at rope drop in the AM. But now I know where to go looking once we arrive. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me if the Kidani studio rooms have a dvd player in them? I like to bring some Disney dvds along but DHs portable dvd player is broken.

...I couldn't do on-line check-in for AKL....what's up with that? Also, if you do on-line, where do you go when your arrive? Not at the front desk, I'm guessing....

I could have sworn this is where I was supposed to request the full sized crib, but there was no option to enter text. We are staying Standard CL (so Arusha View, Jambo, 4th floor). Here are the ONLY options I had to choose from, most of which aren't even applicable:

Room Requests - You may select up to 2 room requests.

_ Highest Floor (wouldn't apply)
_ Near Lobby
_ Near Elevator
_ Sunset Savanna View (wouldn't apply)
_ Kudu Trail View
_ Lower Floor (wouldn't apply)
_ Near Transportation​

Room Ready Request:

_ I would like my room ready for early arrival and to prioritize that over other requests.​

I didn't even SEE an area for Amenity Requests. I did contact the IPO regarding the crib but was a confused and a little frustrated with the online check-in process.

ETA: I think that the front desk now has two sections - one for regular check in and one for online check in. Someone who has visited more recently please feel free to correct me!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to add my name to the list of stays for 2014!

We will be at AKV Kidani March 28 - April 5 2014. We are waiting for our 11 month DVC window for booking. The countdown is 3 weeks and several days.

This will be our third trip to Kidani! We love it!

....I didn't see ANY of that....mebbe because I was checking into ASMu? Well, other than the obvious ones that would only apply to AKL, that is...

Just thought I would share. I have been looking for an update review and this one popped up.

Our upcoming trip to AKV in 2014 is to celebrate DS graduation from high school. We are going to take him on this safari.

In the future when staying CL, don't bother doing online check-in. When you arrive, DO NOT go to the front desk!! Go to Bell Services or Valet and they will have someone escort you upstairs to the 6th floor lounge. That's where you check-in!

ETA: Kimmar - maybe you can only do online check-in for one resort at a time under an account? It doesn't make much sense but, then again, a lot about the new My Disney Experience doesn't make sense!

....I don't get why I didn't even get any 'Request Options' either....the only bad thing about on-line check-in that I can see is that I am already assigned a room and I can't renegotiate a new/better one until I've been to the one assigned to me....

Very odd that Don would say that. The only advantage might be if you listed an estimated arrival time. This way they make sure the Welcome Packet is downstairs with Bell Services who will then escort you up to the Lounge. The CMs in the Lounge get you checked in -- it takes just a few minutes.


No, you can do online check-in for as many resorts as you are staying in within the 60 day time frame. I've got multiple check-ins going!

The website is still very quirky. I can not get my credit card info in so they'll have to run it at the front desk, but I have been able to bring up the list of requests.

I believe what I did was delete cookies, then tried the link again.

I've always skipped online check in, hoping that when I got there I may arrive at a magical time when they need a better room filled and I would generously volunteer to help them out

I certainly hope they aren't changing their CL check-in procedure. I won't find out for myself till August.
