Like Captain Midnight, I've gone the annual pass and time my trips to make the most of them. As I've found after 10 years of trips, I don't "need" to visit the Disney parks everyday ( well not enough to justify spending all day, everyday in the parks) I now make do with buying the park hopper tickets and saving any left over days for another visit. With a better deal on AP/PAP I'd probably buy them and use them to enter one of the parks for 3 or 4 hours everyday then eat at (probably) Epcot, but I find I can't justify the expense with the way I visit the parks so I'm more and more finding I visit the parks maybe just one or two days in a weeks visit, making use of the other facilities (either at the hotels or around Orlando) and eating off site. If you split you visit into two stays at different hotels may be possible to justify a LOS pass for one ( to visit the parks) with no pass for the second, use that time to chill around the pool, shop and use that time to visit other attractions that don't require park tickets.
