I saw somewhere that they could control the amount of splash on the Tiana drop and made it less when it is cold. I don't think I believe that. What has been your experience lately this winter?

.

We were on Tiana on a cold night in December, and we got a little wet, even in the back, but not so wet that I regretted riding it. The people in the front had fairly wet shirts and hair and said they wished they had known to sit in the back. This was at MVMCP and we made sure to ride it last as the party was ending just in case we got wet.

Did you have on any type of rain gear?

I did it a few times last week. I had on a poncho & rain pants. You'll get soaked in the front row, and you'll get some degree of wet in any other row.

We did it in late December on a fairly cold morning and got soaked. And of course bc there was no rain in the forecast that day, I accidentally left our ponchos at the resort. 😬 #rookiemove

We rode a few weeks ago. Everyone got some degree of wet but the closer to the front, the more wet you will get. My son in the front had a soggy rear and wet hoodie. I was in the middle and had a small wet spot on my pants and a few on my jacket but was surprised how much I got in my hair.

Same as my experiences in Sept and Nov. Doesn't sound like they change the water effects for cooler weather.

Unfortunately, DW got fairly wet second row right. I see now that they recommend sitting in the back.

It was a cold night and we had already planned that that would be the end of our day if we got wet. We had ponchos but forgot to bring them to the park.

I've gone down the hill more times than I can remember while it was Splash Mtn. and never got more than a couple spots of water on me. I don't, however, remember ever sitting in the front of the log.

There are two ways to get wet on the ride, the natural splashdown and the water cannons. The ride has always "enhanced" the splash by firing the water canons, and this can be turned down or even off. The splash will be less dramatic if they do (and they do it under a certian temperature I think). The natural splash can still get you pretty wet though. It can vary based on the load of the boat. Now, if I'm with a certain buddy of mine who is a rather large fellow and who they happen to love seating in the front row, well.... 🤣

Actually, the wettest I ever got on the WDW version of the ride is when there was some kind of delay causing a stackup and we got stopped right by the outdoor waterfall before the final scene. It just cast mist at us for like 10 minutes!

I did Tiana last Tuesday when the weather was COLD. I'd heard the back row was least likely to get wet, so that's the row I requested! I didn't get wet at all-however, I have no idea if it was because of where I sat (back row) or just coincidental or if the amount of splash was controlled.

I went a couple weeks ago during the Marathon weekend - we asked to sit in the last row since we didn't have rain gear. The front row got pretty wet. I was on the left side and barely got a splash. My partner on the right side got a little bit of a splash coming in from a wave on the side but nothing more than a little that dried quickly.

I wouldn't count on staying completely dry anywhere you sit but I'd ask to sit in the rear if you're worried. I'm not sure if my left vs right thing is consistent or just for our ride.

I’ve always found when I’m on the right side of the log that I’m more wet than whoever is sitting in left side of the log.
