This isn't the debate board. I do not debate very good. So I try to not go there. Others enjoy that, and it's great to have a place to enjoy those skills and a place to go like the Debate Board.

But I mistakenly opened that closed thread and others, here on the Community Board, and now I feel stressed just reading all the anger and hate. At least, that is what I am getting from these threads.

To bad, but thanks for the quick reminder instead of a slow, steady, seductive whatever.

I think that I'll try again in a few months.

I'm sorry for sounding sarcastic. I guess I didn't need to read this before going to bed after posting all night.

I just couldn't hit the back button this time, so I apologize if I offended anyone, but that's the way I feel.

A lot of us here "tip-toe" through the threads, trying to avoid debates, arguements, sarcasm, etc. Like others have said, not everyone here reading and posting on the CB have those intentions in mind, and in fact, are trying to ignore the same threads that you are. These days, I skip over many, many threads until I find out that sounds interesting.

Sorry about all that, Ray. I'm wondering the same thing myself. Sometimes thing quickly get out of control. There is a lot of tension and stress right now for many of our CBers and we are all affected by the events in the DC area. Not an excuse though because there is already tension between the 2 groups. I should know better than to find myself in the middle of it. Sorry you had to watch.

I almost feel sorry for asking you to stop back to the CB Ray, when we talked on the phone yesterday.

I assure you, Ray, most of the people and threads on the CB are nice, though there are always those who will try to insert dissension for debate and argument sake or sleaze for shock and childish purposes. Some may do things just out of pure meanness, but only a very few. Most of the folks you recall from when you frequented the CB earlier in the year are still here, only a very few of the nice folks have left.

It is not unlike a neighborhood, mostly good, friendly people, a few jerks here and there. Generally the nice people can go about their daily business without paying much attention to the folks who try to work the fringe. Ignoring certain posters entirely, or threads, has helped many deal with the day-to-day.

Please stop back, Ray, you have always been a light here. And Lady M will never forget your words from this past March, she still mentions you and them every so often. Thanks for being you.

Emotions are at an all time high around here, Ray, what with the sniper shootings in the I-95 region here in Maryland and Virginia.

I read the thread this morning and I assume everyone has an opinion. I didn't agree with some of those opinions, but I have learned to move on. After all, its only an opinion, and when you have people already emotionally charged, things are bound to get heated.

No, the way it was done is obviously not acceptable, since the threads were locked. Disagreeing respectfully last I heard was perfectly ok. There are plenty of other places to disagree to the point of arguing, and plenty of other topics with which to do so.
