We have to use our Magic Bands - we are an Android home, no apple here!
Apple is just being released first. They will have Android support “SOON!”

If it will be supported on Apple Watch, that would be amazing
Yes it uses a function Apple calls Express Transit. It was designed for metro transit areas that support contact-less transit payment without the need to unlock your smart device.
Use Express Transit on your iPhone
Use Express Transit on your Apple Watch
- Hold the top of your iPhone near the middle of the contactless reader.
- Wait until you feel a vibration.
- You see Done and a checkmark on the display.
It even works in reserve power mode when your iPhone or Apple Watch is low on power and needs to be charged.

You can use Express Transit cards with power reserve with iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later. Power reserve is available for up to five hours when your iPhone needs to be charged.

Funny enough, I’ve used that a few times here in NYC with our new OMNY system when the pilot program first came to my subway station, but I didn’t connect the dots that Disney would probably use the same tech. It’s pretty much flawless too, just as quick and easy as swiping a Metrocard (probably easier for tourists tbh lol) though I haven’t had to try it with a dead phone battery. I have heard a handful of universities are using the tech for student ID cards as well. Seems to be well proven so I hope Disney’s implementation will go as smoothly...it doesn’t seem to rely on MDX so much as the existing tried and tested Apple tech.
You don't need to download anything from Apple, but you do need to select which credit card you want to use. You select it under: Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Express Transit Card.Do you have to download anything to use the Express Transit? I've just started using OMNY and you're right - with masking, getting into the card on the wallet is a PITA.

Nope! No need to download anything, you just have to designate a card for Express Transit in Wallet. Either an actual transit card (which I don’t think OMNY has yet) or one of your regular credit or debit cards that you have set up for Apple Pay. It doesn’t have to be your default Apple Pay card either, my default is Chase Freedom Unlimited and my Transit is Chase Sapphire Preferred for the extra travel points. Once you set one as your Express Transit card, all you have to do is go up to the reader and hold your phone/watch near it, your card automatically pops up and you get the little vibration and ding, no need to open Wallet even with the quick access.
I’m just wondering how it will work with Magic Mobile and the multiple passes in a family situation.
So far that is going to be a manual process if you have other members MagicMobile passes in your smart device wallet.I’m just wondering how it will work with Magic Mobile and the multiple passes in a family situation.
@mrsap thanks for sharing.I thought I’d share this:
88% of Disney World Fans Said They Will NOT Use This New Service. Here’s Why.

That's a very misleading title since it was an only an online poll at Disneyfoodblog among their followers. Not 88% of Disney World Fans by any measurement.
Typical polling click-bait.

Amazing that so many people think this is going to drain their phone battery. The transit touch system uses hardly any energy at all.I thought I’d share this:
