No, I skipped the costume for this one, so I'm pretty sure we didn't see each other. I'm glad you came out to watch. That wasn't the best weather for standing around in, and I'm sure your friends appreciated you being there. Even though my time was okay (4:12), my race wasn't all that great. I had really severe cramps that locked up my leg a few times and made me step really gingerly for the last few miles. Still, at least I didn't get stuck at the train like the people who started in the first few corrals.![]()
Congrats on your time!
One of my friends was in corral 5 and was delayed around four minutes by the train. I see that Union Pacific issued an apology. They also have a link to adjust your time if impacted by the train.
My spectating wasn't all that great either. Hats off to people that come out to support runners. My people were strung out from corral 2 to I'm not even sure how far back. My plan was to catch people at miles 2, 8, 10 and 11/25 roughly. I ended up watching at the 3.6 mile mark and then the finish only. It was pretty tough trying to pick out people with a sea of runners early on in the race.

Did 2 miles on the TM, 2.3 miles on the elliptical and the usual upper body machines.
) check out the Christmas decorations. Currently we have both Turkeys and Christmas in my neighborhood. I'm hoping more lights will show up this weekend and next. I told myself last year to get out and enjoy because I'd sure miss the decorations come Feb.
I managed to find a bit of sidewalk that was up a bit. Usually I just run with it, this time it tripped me up bad enough that I flew. Landed on my knee and annoyed my arm. This was last Thursday. Took Friday off. And did something like 15 - 16 miles. Something because my Garmin died at 7.12 and didn't get new batteries till I hit the house again.
Sounds like the Goofy training is in kicking butt! Oh and yes I did originally sign up for the Marathon at Wine and Dine, but then switched to the Half so you are not crazy.
My runs have been fantastic as of late and it's great to just get out and run. The weather has been darn near perfect so that's certainly not hurting anything. Now what I really need to work on is getting back to eating healthier. I'm hoping that happens soon.
Very motivating.
