November/December 2016 discount code watch

Seems like false advertisement to me when there is zero availability anywhere but Coronado. Really disappointing.

I never book something I can't afford - so I am willing to pay rack rate as well. It's just disappointing that the "discount" is no discount at all.

Oh, we can afford it, that isn't the problem. I booked Pop in order to be able to get my ADRs at 180 days while I waited for some form of deal to come through. I always knew we would switch to a moderate eventually, deal or no deal. It is just that we had our hearts set on checking out POFQ. Turns out the discount at CSR is only saving us $75 compared to rack rate at POFQ. We debated switching, but we figure cross CSR off our list of hotels to try and stay at POFQ some other trip.

Tried it already. Most DVC resorts are even booked up. Our week of 12/3-12/11 only a 1 bedroom at SSR was available. Craziness!

Bummer. We are considering buying DVC and thought this trip might be a good chance to try it, but since we are going for our daughter's first birthday, we would want a MK or Epcot resort or we won't bother. DH and I will discuss if we even want to talk with a points rental company at all or if we will just let it slide this time.

You should still try. Thing may have changed since last week. We do have a few nights booked on rented points at AKL before our RO at CBR.

Wow, a little lower discount percent than I was hoping for. Now i need to decide which is better the FD i got earlier or this 20% off.

Package we got is 6 nights at $4800 for BC, FD, 7 day PH tickets.

My round about figuring at the 453 discount rate per night is $2718, + 1200 for PH tickets = $3918 (+tax) which leaves aprox $900 for food (minus tax of course).

So to those who know this stuff better than me (never done free dining) is food for the 6 days for 3 of us (2 adult 1kid) worth more than $900?

I am thinking the FD is the better deal but am hoping to get some input one way or the other from those here who know this stuff better than i do. Thanks.

My round about figuring at the 459 discount rate per night is $2754, + 1200 for PH tickets = $3954 (+tax) which leaves $900 for food (minus tax of course).

depends.. what are your ADRs?

http://www.distripplanner.com/ is slightly off but still good for budgeting food cost.

POFQ is so small and so popular, if there are any discounts they are usually very low. Disney can fill the rooms there without offering significant discounts.

My sis for a FD PIN in 2013 that we were able to use at FQ for our trip; would not have been able to stay there otherwise.

Got an e-mail from my TA. She described the offer as Disney doing a clearance sale. Says occupancy rates are unusually high this year.

Honestly, I think FD is almost never worth it. The one time I did it, it was because it was the only offer available, and it was more food than we were comfortable eating, AND I got a stomach virus halfway through and after that, it was all wasted on me. I like the RO discount, also because you can buy your tix a little cheaper elsewhere.

that has me worried about our trip 11/12-19. have been in September and October the last 2 trips. wanted to see the Christmas decorations and the cooler conditions.

I read on another section that Fall bookings are much higher than Disney had expected.

I booked GF with free dining a while back. I'm glad I did as it is a better deal with 4 of us going than the 20% discount. Still very surprised that the discounts were very low. I was hoping for a higher room discount as I have a TIW card I could use for dining. Oh well; I still can use the TIW card on appetizers, etc.

I'm going there during that time as well. My past two trips have been pretty much walk-ons most attractions... I've always been careful to choose one of the most recommended weeks. Did this time too... doesn't seem to be working out so well. LOL.

I considered the free dining promotion, but it would have required me to be on a split stay, with Club Level being the free dining time period (why not add more food into the mix?) plus I already have and Annual Pass and Tables in Wonderland. I would have also needed to upgrade to deluxe dining since I have a few 2-credit meals. The additional desserts and snacks probably would have also went to waste.

It really depends on your preference and your ADRs. It appears you do have a signature, and with a 6 night stay, you will only have 6 TS credits so either Le Cellier or two other TS meals will need to be out of pocket.

**EDIT: Don't forget to add tip on top of your free dining calculation! It is not included.

I'm kicking myself for switching my weeks. I would of been better off if I just kept our original dates.

If I end up changing to January I have a motherload of ADR's for 6 to 13 NOV to unload. Favorites such as BOMA, BOG, O'Hana, Beaches and Cream, SciFi, Akershus and a few others.
