Morning routine - check SW to see if our flights for Oct have gone down. Check SW to see if my flights for my aunt's birthday have gone down. Check Universal to see if a standard room at RPR has opened up for the one extra night I need for Oct. Check Dis to see if Nov/Dec discount thread has good news - and I'm not even traveling in Nov/Dec! So thanks for being part of my morning routine! (I'm waiting for Feb discounts, and yours have to come first - so I'm stalking here to see if I'm getting closer!)

I desperately need my 180 days to open so I can stalk for dining reservations too

I have a very similar morning routine: check southwest to make sure flight prices haven't dropped ($750 total round trip for 3 people is still a great decision!), check this thread, check Disney website.

So funny that we all have a similar routine! My SW has not dropped either for my return flight. I am taking JetBlue down this time simply because the time worked much better for my family. Luckily it was a $105 Blue Plus with one bag included fare. Anymore than that, and I do not think I could have justified it... ESPECIALLY if I do not end up getting a room discount AHAHA

SW is a gem for us. The regional airport is 10 minutes from our home, where you essentially park, walk 50 yards and enter the terminal. Security takes all of 15 minutes on a SUPER BUSY day, and before you know it you've boarded. Having smaller kids in tow and getting in after boarding group A is a great thing as well.

So although there is no word on discounts yet, I've still gotten some good out of this thread! Thanks to you find folks, I decided to go and check our SW flights this morning and was able to get $120 credit!! This brings our round trip flights for 4 to $768. Not too shabby! The only thing is, I don't know if I get that refunded to my card or is it just a credit for a future flight? I guess I need to figure that one out, still pretty excited though

Thanks to you find folks, I decided to go and check our SW flights this morning and was able to get $120 credit!! This brings our round trip flights for 4 to $768. Not too shabby! The only thing is, I don't know if I get that refunded to my card or is it just a credit for a future flight? I guess I need to figure that one out, still pretty excited though

It's a credit that has to be used within one year of the original purchase date of the flights (not based on the day you got the credit). I discovered that part the hard way.

I'm sure it depends where you're flying from and when. I booked our flights the day they released them and actually at one point I could have gotten them even cheaper but the prices kept going up throughout the day. The flight is only 2.5 hours for us so it's not like we're flying from too far away. But I was pretty excited to get them that cheap, I had budgeted $1000 so glad I could keep it under that!

Historically has there been a year where they did not offer RO discounts during the Holiday season?

I was checking room availability at the Poly for my Dec stay and they are almost booked solid. Might not be an incentive left to discount.

I was saying the same thing about POR in early November, with only 2 categories of rooms still available. I think that a discount has always been offered to some extent, but with major exclusions in terms of dates and properties.

Count me in for waiting for either a Florida Resident or AP discount over Thanksgiving. We have POP booked at the rack rate, but I am hoping for something/anything as far as a discount.

We are waiting for an AP discount too. We are booked WL the week of Thanksgiving & GF the week after. We have high hopes for a discount
