We went last year Nov. 7-15 and the free dining was available then. We're planning to go back Nov. 11-19, 2016 and my fingers are crossed that it will be offered then as well. We stayed off property last time, so I am looking forward to trying the free dining!

We are considering a November 2016 stay as well and are hoping for free dining. We'd like to stay at POR, but it looks like free dining is blacked out for the same time this year at POR, so we may be trying a new to us resort: CBR. Anyway, here's to happy planning!

Does anyone know the procedure for booking then adding on a discount when they are released?

We are hoping for free dining (obviously there are no guarantees) but should I go ahead and book the dining plan when I book my room or do I wait to add the dining plan when discounts are released?

I'm not 100% sure, but it's my understanding that when the free dining promotion comes out you call and have it added to your existing reservation .

I'm on board too. Our last trip was November 2013 so I'm going through withdrawal! We are hoping for something maybe starting with Halloween through the 1st week of November. Love Jersey Week!. The weather is perfect.. Free Dining works great for us so here's hoping.. And we love F&W too; I know my older kids will really start enjoying that too.

Jumping into this thread. It's been 9 loooong years since we've been to WDW (sad to say, it's been so long since I've allowed myself to cruise the Disboards that I couldn't figure out my old username and password ).

We've looking at November 2016. Hope, hope, hoping for Free Dining, in which case we'll be able to (maybe, possibly) stay at a Deluxe.

So excited that I get to spend the next 15 months planning!!!

I'll be going November 26 to December 3. I've never been to WDW before (we did DL 2 years ago - both parks in 3 days). We're also planning to do universal as well (and dh wants to go to Kennedy Space Centre too). With any luck, I'll be planning a trip for 9 of us because dh's family may try to come too.

I just pre-ordered the two unofficial guides for 2016 as I found that invaluable for my trip to DL. When we went to DL we actually did everything we wanted to do at DL/DCA in 3 days because of the online planner. Although DL in 3 days was so busy and so exhausting because we used every single minute, and I don't want a whole week of that (and I don't know if I could do a whole week like that, and I *know* the rest of the group couldn't do a whole week like that - my family almost revolted by the end of day 2).

We're planning on going November 27 - December 9th. I am eagerly awaiting discount codes, I know it will be awhile, but I still can't wait. We will only need a code for the first part of the trip November 27th - December 2nd, since we plan to go to Legoland for the weekend and rent points at AKL for the 4th - 9th.

I really hope for a 30% off room discount for mid November. The room discount this year was only 25% and free dining or the other packages really doesn't work for us. We find that because we like staying in a deluxe, we get the best discount with the room only promo.

I'll be looking for the exact same thing! Room discount over FD. We just came back from a FD bounce back and learned the dining plan is not for us. Too much food. We'd rather share meals and have a room discount. Crossing my fingers for a good deal.

Oh, I love Free Dining. Used it several times. But with the addition of the requirement of park hoppers, no thanks. Ill take a good discount on the Poly or Boardwalk any day, plus I can predict that Disney will eventually link the CS plan with the moderates as well.

Free dining was available through Dec. 18th if I recall correctly, so if they offer it again for 2016 you should be set as long as your first day of the trip is the first day of your trip.

They say they can just "add it to your reservation", but having a reservation does not guarantee that you will be able to get the discount when it comes out. Disney only has a certain number available and when they are gone, you cannot get it, whether you have a previous reservation or not unfortunately.
