November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Oops, trying to do the quote thing. I forgot to "copy" See Mimi's Girl, I can't do it either.

For quoting, highlight what you want quoted from someone's post. Then click the "Quick Reply" bubble.
In the message box is a little bubble on the far right. Click on that and paste what you copied in between the 2 "quotes" marks. Sounds complicated, but it's easy. What's easier is if you just click the quote bubble on a message. Then you get the whole thing.

Let's see, did it work this time?

Well it sort of worked. How come everyone elses has the "origanally Posted by..." I didn't get that. Anyway.

Hello everyone. It has been a while.

Between the snow days, sick kids and girl scout cookie time, it is crazy at my house. We are having snow and ice today, and tomorrow we (my scouts and I) are to be outside a Wal-Mart pushing cookies. Please pray for no snow and at least 20 degrees!!

Pixie Dust II : So glad to hear from you! I am so happy that everything is working out for DH. Will look forward to meeting you.

I am lost on "Lost" Are they showing new episodes at 8 or 9? I watch Survivor at 8 and then lost at 9, but i think I am missing things.

I am going to pick up some "cruise" shirts for DH this weekend. On sale at Kohls.

Time to put the kids to bed, Good night!

How about the ending last night. Jack also said on the stand that 8 people survived.
WOW!:scared1: Baby Turnip head! I never saw that one coming. Great show... Well What is every one planning on doing on the Islands??? I know one thing I'm going to do... buy some good rum.:drinking1

My wife and I have talked about moving to Florida to escape the cold weather here. Then, I read quotes like this:

Please pray for no snow and at least 20 degrees!!

It only got up to 45' today, and that's freakin' cold for South Carolina.

Mozart, How do you like SC? My wife and I want to visit. It always looks to beautiful there.

I like the area we live in, but there are some parts of the state that are just nasty. Then, there are parts of the state that are absolutely gorgeous. I grew up in the middle part of the state (look at Columbia/Florence area on a map) and it's not attractive. It's mostly swampland, and extremely humid in the summer. Parts of the state are very rural, and very poor, but those are mostly concentrated in the midlands.

Now, the upper part of the state reaches into the Foothills of the Appalachian mountains and there are some absolutely gorgeous areas. I live in the Greenville area, and everything around here is very new since it's one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. We live in a pretty flat area, but can see the mountains off in the distance, so we have the best of both worlds.

Then, you've got the beaches along the coast which are of course beautiful. Myrtle Beach is the most popular, but it's also an unbelievable tourist trap, and I think it's kind of dirty because there's just too many people there. Hilton Head is where we vacation when we want the beach. (DVC members should know there's a Disney resort there.) I love Hilton Head. Gorgeous, not too crowded, and beautiful. Only thing about it is with all the environmental protections in place, you have to kind of know where you want to go, because the business signs on the island have to be somewhat hidden. Also, there is no lighting at night due to the turtles that lay eggs on the beaches in that area. So, nightime is pretty dark if that makes you nervous.

To sum it up, if you know where to go, South Carolina can be very nice. But there are parts of the state I would avoid if you can help it.

Pixie Dust II - So glad to hear from you and the good news about your DH.

Old School Pooh Fan - thanks for the links. I'm going to go back and check them out now. I know each week has been better and better. Who do you think was in the coffin that no one showed up for?

WendyJersey- Welcome back. Wow are you busy. Do you at least get some time for yourself on the weekends?

Bye for now.

Time what is that. :scared1: Do I get some for myself
As you can see I will need the cruise by November. I plan on doing what I did on the last one. R e l a x i n g....... and :drinking: :drinking1

You sound like you're going on the same trip as me. Need the relaxation and that's a good way to do it.

I'd love to do that, but I want to get a hotel by The Space Center so we can *hopefully* watch the shuttle launch that night. So far, it's scheduled to take off after 11pm. I think it would be much easier to watch it from an ocean front room. popcorn:: Less chaos for the kiddos.
Thanks though! :thumbsup2

Good luck with the shuttle launch. It would be exciting to see, but the most excitement we had was being on deck of the Magic and watching the return of the shuttle. It was amazing. I am not sure which cruise it was, but it was very exciting. Those things can be so unpredictable.

pixie dust, Great news that your DH is feeling better! Looking forward to meeting you both on the Magic.

Thanks, I am so anxious to meet everyone too.

Forgive me everyone. My husband has been gone on his own personal vacation (lucky guy) so I've been on here alot. I think I just made my first two door signs and I want to try to load it up here. Let's see how this goes. I just got Photoshop, and I have NO idea how to use it, so I've been tinkering.

Your signs are wonderful. I have my signs from last summer on the refrigerator in the garage. We had so much fun making them that I just could not toss them away!

I know someone said they got a bathing suit already, but I went shopping last week at Kohl's and got three skirts and one top for the cruise and paid $12.00! What a sale. I love that store! DH is glad that is not real close to home, but with deals like that I could shop daily!

Hello everyone!!! Sorry haven't been on in forever but for some reason things have been extra busy the last few months. Welcome to all new comers and its nice to see more double dippers from 11/2006 are joining us! I will try to catch up on the posts the next few days and update the the who's going list on the first post.

Quick question for anyone driving from the Chicago area: what time/day do you plan to leave for Florida? We are trying to decide if we want to drive to the St. Louis area and travel to Florida with dh's family in their RV or drive straight to Florida in our van. Thanks :)

Thanks Mozart, Great info. Sounds like we need to plan a trip to the beaches there. :thumbsup2

Your signs are wonderful.
Thanks Pixie. They seem so infantile compared to others I've seen, It's so hard, because I want to create, but don't have the full knowledge of the tools to do it. I have 7 more months of practice I guess!

Thanks Pixie for the info. I'm goin' to Kohls!

And this is bad, because....?

They also only do Palo's brunch and High Tea on days at sea as well. I think it's just because that's the only times they can have them and really feel like people will show up.

Be aware that of those two martini tastings listed, one is a gin martini tasting and one is a vodka martini tasting. Usually, the gin one is the first one and the vodka one comes second. We don't like gin martini's, but have to slow ourselves down on the vodka based martinis.

Aww now...vodka makes ALL the difference! We were with GoofyFd and we could barely get through the gin. :crazy2: Now, vodka martini's, that's my cup of tea. :thumbsup2 I, for some reason, didn't know there was a difference. :confused3
Sign me up for wine tasting and margarita tasting. :drinking1 Sign Dh for beer tasting. He gave that up last time to hang with us at the gin tasting. Poor guy... :guilty:

I'll take one of each of the tastings:cool1: DH and I prefer the vodka martinis too. Seems like we may be able to get some groups together for the tastings. That would be fun!

GoofyFD- "Baby Turnip head" :rotfl2: :lmao:
Our kids are too young for excursions so we just plan beach time on the islands and a little shopping. We mostly get t-shirts and alcohol. My sisters always request a bottle of something for us to bring back. Last time we brought back 11 bottles (funny I only have 3 sisters). Actually we have a lot left still from last April. Nothing like a cool rum drink or margarita on a hot summer day.

Pixie Dust II- Wow you got some great deals. I keep trying not to go crazy buying dresses now for my dd. I keep trying to remind myself that they will go on sale. Makes it so much sweeter when you get a good deal like you did. I like shopping at Kohl's too.

Everyone have a good night. Bo (short for Roberta) My dh's name is Bob.

Thanks for the info on the gin vs. vodka tastings. I had already commented to dw that I would not want any martinis made with gin. I just don’t like the stuff. The wine and margarita tasting is more my style. I am interested to see what they present with the margaritas. I am a rocks, no salt guy. To me, all of that blended ice just waters down the taste. :confused3

As for the sea days, I am hoping to book Palo brunch for the 3rd day. The second day is formal night and I think it would be a bit more relaxing to have those on different days. On the 6th day (semi-formal night) I am going to try to schedule our Palo dinner with our in-room “romance at sea breakfast” the next morning (CC day). A nice family breakfast on the veranda looking out at CC seems to be a great way to start our last full day.
