November 8-12 2009 4 night Wonder

I'm starting to get a little nervous....has everyone received their packet with the brochure/booklet and luggage tags? I haven't and I'm nervous now that we are under that 30 day mark.

Martin: Welcome!

TanteDidi: Welcome! It's our first cruise too, so you won't be alone. It'll be a blast!

Mike: Not sure how quickly we can scan them in and get it to you upon returning, but we can try. There are a couple of posts that have recent Navigators in them, and from what I can tell, they won't change a whole lot within a couple of months' timeframe. Check out:

eeyoresmountainpals: We haven't received anything yet, either. I wouldn't start worrying yet...

Hi everyone! We will be on this cruise and wanted to give an hello to all of you. This is our first cruise so we are getting super excited. We can hardly wait.

My travel agent called today to say that she receive all the paper for the parks, hotel and free dining but nothing for the cruise. So she called DCL and they said that it was on process and the papers will be mailed in the nexts couples of days!

By the way, I went on the DCL site and we have our assignation for the cabine

Seeing more activity on this board is adding to the already mounting excitment for the trip. So close now!!!! :cool1:

We haven't gotten any travel documents yet. We've had our cabin numbers since we booked, but I think that's because we paid $250 pp deposit to secure cabins near each other. We have 6 cabins for our 4 families.

Our whole group of 21 booked the Caribbean Queen snorkel excursion for Nassau. It's only 2.5 hours long, $37, and is for the afternoon. We'll enjoy the ship and have lunch on board, then head to the excursion

When we went in 2005 we did the Blackbeard Stingray Beach excursion. We really liked it. If you want another beach day besides just Castaway, we liked this. We snorkeled off the beach as soon as we got there (when the crowd headed to the stingray pond). Then we went to the stingray pond and were practically the only ones there. Food was okay. This definitely wasn't 'disney-ish' property, but we really enjoyed the day. We may have paid extra to use snorkel gear off the beach, but I can't remember.

Did any one get trip insurance? We never have in the past but now I'm worried about the H1N1 virus!!! I'm not sure it would even cover it. Does anyone know?

3 weeks till we head to the airport! :woohoo: Our kids still don't know, although DD (7) has an idea. We'll break the news on Nov. 1.

I'm starting to wonder if I might have to watch some World Series games onboard as well as the Eagles!

We received our travel documents/travel booklets today! :cool1: I've been waiting anxiously - getting them makes it seem like a bit more of a reality!

There is one problem though - they spelled our son's first name incorrectly. :guilty: I've contacted our travel agent to get this corrected because I'm afraid that might be a problem since it doesn't match his passport.

But at least we're that much closer now!!:cool1:

That's nice That's true that receiving them makes seem more of a reality! I hope my travel agent will call me on monday to tell me that she received our travel documents too.

Is someone know if we will be lucky enough to see some Christmas decorations on the Wonder during our cruise?

Welcome to the new members of this thread. Our TA just called on Friday to tell us that our travel documents just arrived. I am going to pick them up tomorrow:banana:. She said the DCL documents were a little slower than usual. :confused3. My kids are so excited for this trip! :dance3:

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mike and I will be cruising with my family on a 4 night Wonder cruise on Nov 15th. I am wondering if someone might be available to send along the Navigators when you get back? I am wanting to share with the kiddies what is coming up really soon.

We cruised in 2000 and 2001 with 2 and then 3 kids respectively. However, we have 7 now. And they are all looking forward to this. The oldest ones barely remember anything from their cruise but I'm hoping to build a lot of great memories with this one. So I'm hoping to plan the trip to the best I can.

I am hoping someone might be able to keep copies of the Daily Navigators and scan them to email when they get home? I can send along my email if someone can help.

Thanks so much and enjoy your cruise!!

Mike
Mike,
We are heading back to the AKL when we get off the ship. If you have a fax number I can see if they can fax them to you.

Is someone know if we will be lucky enough to see some Christmas decorations on the Wonder during our cruise?

We are hoping the same thing! We took a carnival cruise at this time last year and they started decorating the ship the day we were leaving!:sad2:
I am hoping to get a nice picture of my boys to use on our Holiday Cards.

:cool1: Wow 3 weeks from now..... that will come fast now.... everyone ready :thumbsup2

I'm getting ready - - -slowly but surely! :teeth:

I completed the on-line forms today and printed out the cruise line contract. :cool1:

Still so much to do though!

Is anyone on here interested in doing an FE exchange? I'd be willing to organize it if we have some interest. I think I'll go ahead and PM everyone to see if anyone is interested! But if I miss any of you with a PM please PM me!!!

Can you tell me what is an FE?

Can you tell me what is an FE?

I knew someone was going to ask that and I'm terrible at explaining.

Basically - outside of every cabin is a fish with a hook on it. It was designed by Disney to hang a note or something like that if they needed to leave something for you. Dissers have been using them to do exchanges. You buy or make some sort of holder to hang from the hook. It can be simple or elaborate. (Some crafty people go all out but I'm not that crafty so last year I made a fairly simple one.) Anyway, before sailing anyone interested gives their ingo (cabin number, # of guests and ages of guests) to whoever is organizing and then they distribute the info. On the cruise you take little gifts to your fellow fish extender exchange participants. It's really fun to come back to your cabin and find goodies in your fish extender! Last year I gave little bags of candy - you usually put in enough gifts for each member in the stateroom. We got some really neat stuff too. It was really a lot of fun!

It's also neat to see the reactions from people who don't know about disboards. We got all sorts of questions about it!

Let me see if I can find a link to it somewhere.

Okay, here's a link to the thread.

I actually think I posted on that thread last year before our first Disney cruise because I had no idea what a Fish Extender was either. There are some great pics of FEs on there too!
