November 8-12 2009 4 night Wonder

Welcome Eeyoresmountailpals!

2 Pirates: Welcome! We are from jersey shore as well and will be at the Beach Club for the 3 days prior to the cruise. Never stayed there before, but heard amazing things about it. I spent days reading the Beach Club thread under Disboards resorts. Great info there.

Hi Capt Oblivous - Here's hoping Mcnabb is back, along with the defense who was absent today, so we can have a great game on the cruise!

Belle, I enjoy hearing updates about the wedding plans - sounds so exciting!

Welcome PrincessK&A!

Looks like this thread is finally picking up some more cruisers! :cool1:

HI Everyone.....I am so excited about this Cruise!!!!! I keep checkin here to see how many more of us are heading out and "counting the days" Is anyone else picking out what to pack?? I am at the point where I am counting how many more days I have to WORK until my time off starts!!

DD received an email about her Marriage License (makes it a bit more real) I do believe all the girls have their dresses and DD's Bridesmaids flew her to Orlando a week ago for a Bachlorette Party!!! She had a wonderful time and got to see a lot of her College Friends...was a Wonderful suprise from her Friends since it was all a SUPRISE for her...her Fiancee was in on it and kept it a secret for a couple weeks.....she had no idea WHERE she was going until he dropped her off at the Dallas Airport for a 7AM flight.

I do hope to see you around the ship....start packing we only have 47 days until we are CRUISING!!!!

Welcome aboard!

Oh wait--you're a Cowboys fan. Well, your fiancee can come. :lmao: Between him, my family, and goeagles, I'm afraid you're going to be surrounded. Did you know the Cowboys and Eagles play on the night we set sail?

goeagles: Boy, that last game was embarrassing. I'm hoping we see better efforts from here on out, or we might need this cruise to escape the misery!

Yep we are cowboy fans but judging from Sundays game I'm quite ashamed! LOL! Yes I am aware of the game on the 8th and I'm very excited! Really hoping they have the game on the big screen!

On another note, is anyone going on an excision while in the nasseau? I'm thinking of Atlantis and just want some insight!

Also, when is pirate night on our cruise? And how many theatre shows are on ship? One last question, if I do pali on the last night, what am I missing? Thanks

I believe that Pirate Night is November 9th durring this cruise....I could be wrong but I think I remember reading this somewhere because this is the day DD will have her Wedding while we are in port at Nassau.

This is our first cruise, so I don't know all the details. But from reading trip reports, it seems like Pirate night is usually on the Castaway Cay day.

We are really debating Nassau. We usually like to explore places we haven't seen before, but it looks like Atlantis is really the only thing worth seeing, and it costs an arm and a leg to do anything there. So we're still on the fence.

I took my one DS last October and we did the open water snorkeling and we also had time to walk around and see a little bit of Nassau right there at the port. We had a blast snorkeling. Not sure if that's anything you'd be interested in. I think it was $45 per person.

This year I'm taking another DS. He has Down Syndrome and I'm just not real comfortable with the idea of the open water snorkeling with him. I think we'll just walk around Nassau a little and then head back to the ship. Nice thing about that is the ship isn't nearly as crowded when it's in port.

Hi Everyone:cheer2:,
Sorry I haven't responded to anything, but september has been a very busy month for me:teacher:. Our boys are so excited about this cruise! Last year we did a Carnival cruise and while we were in Nassua we did the Blackbeard's Cay experience. Carnival offered just the beach experience (no food or stingrays) and it cost us 100.00 for all 4 of us. We had a quiet day on the beach. We were thinking about doing it again, but we can't justify going to the same place for double the price.:sad2: We are thinking about staying on the ship and taking a walk through town. Whe I called DCL the CM told me the pirate party is usually on the Castaway Cay Night. We scheduled Palo for the last night because the CM told me you eat in the same restuarant on the 1st & 4th night. We aren't sure we want to miss our last night with our servers. Any suggestions?
My DH and DS are hoping they show the game on the big screen by the pool.

I have spent days pouring over the dining reviews & trip reports. The pool at the BC looks great! :cheer2: I hope the weather is warm enough to use it!:wizard: Are you using disney trans. to get to the pier?

I think our feeling is that we've already spent much more on the cruise itself than we would on a normal vacation, so it's hard to justify shelling out more on the excursions. My daughter is 7, and my sons are 5 and 3, so they aren't quite ready for a lot of sightseeing, and they're all still beginners with swimming. Right now I think we're leaning towards taking a few pictures at the dock (so we can say we "set foot" in Nassau) and then enjoying a relatively empty boat! So we'll probably see you around...

I can't wait to see Castaway Cay, though. That's the part I'm looking forward to the most. :woohoo:

If I remember correctly from last year you have breakfast on the last morning at the same restaurant that you dined in on the last night. So, unless you plan to skip the "restaurant" breakfast and opt for one of the buffet-types then you would get to see your servers one last time that morning!

:thumbsup2 Gotcha!

I understand completely!

My son and I are going to get off in Nassau and walk around a bit - like you said, just to be able to say we set foot in Nassau. But then we're going to head back to the boat and hopefully it won't be too crowded. My son doesn't always do well in crowds.

Yeah, greetings from the other side of the atlantic.
We (2 adults) are also on the ship. It is our first cruise so we are a little nervous - only 4 weeks left :).
We love Disneyworld, so this is the next step for us...

So long

Martin

Hi Martin!

Welcome to this thread!

Don't be nervous about the cruise - YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mike and I will be cruising with my family on a 4 night Wonder cruise on Nov 15th. I am wondering if someone might be available to send along the Navigators when you get back? I am wanting to share with the kiddies what is coming up really soon.

We cruised in 2000 and 2001 with 2 and then 3 kids respectively. However, we have 7 now. And they are all looking forward to this. The oldest ones barely remember anything from their cruise but I'm hoping to build a lot of great memories with this one. So I'm hoping to plan the trip to the best I can.

I am hoping someone might be able to keep copies of the Daily Navigators and scan them to email when they get home? I can send along my email if someone can help.

Thanks so much and enjoy your cruise!!

Mike
