November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

My parents who are joining us on this cruise want in on the FE exchange!

Traci, you can add them under SLP#2 I guess as they don't DIS... (yet anyway!) It's their very first cruise, but they are big Disney lovers.

I'll PM you their room number and names to add to the list! :yay:

In other news... it's finally a cooler weekend here. Yay! We're going to the beach tomorrow with the dogs. Hopefully it won't be TOO cool!

And, I've gotten my first FE gift done and another is on it's way. :3dglasses I'm so excited for this trip!

Bought some fabric to make a new FE. I wasn't that happy with the one I bought. We'll see how well my effort turns out.

Just a quick hello. The shower was this afternoon - she got lots of really nice things. I made to Ohio for a visit with my folks and will return to Michigan on Wednesday.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!!!

I bought fabric a few weeks ago to try making a Fish Extender and I FINALLY got around to making it today. I like how it turned out, especially since I didn't have a pattern (have just seen pics of FE's). I just wish that it wasn't so hard to find Mickey fabric. I visited a few stores and then got this at WalMart. One of the Fabric stores said that they didn't have much because Mickey wasn't that popular--WHATEVER! They had a bunch of Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Street, and Strawberry Shortcake. Like they are that much more popular than Mickey? Here's a photo of my creation.

I still need to get a dowel for the top, but otherwise it is finished. Hooray!!!

Good for you, Shauna!! It looks great. I intended to make mine last year- and never could find any Mickey fabric. :headache:
So I bought one from a DISer on eBay... oh my gosh, it is great. She made it custom and the pockets are embroidered with characters of our choosing. LOVE IT! It hangs in our guest room right now. Ready to use again!!

So do you sew much? I think yours turned out awesome!!

Christine

Oh, Shauna, that IS cute! Hope mine turns out so well.

I bought Mickey colors but not mickey fabrics (couldn't find any in Joanns, and wasn't going anywhere else hunting - did I mention I hate to shop?) and some transfer paper. Hopefully I can make little iron on's to put on the pockets.

Today, we have a picnic with dh's ski club. I made a flourless chocolate cake - the invitation said we didn't need to bring anything, but then offered a cash prize for the best side dish and the best dessert. Subtle, huh?

Have a great day, everybody!

I don't sew a whole lot. I did take sewing in High School, but then really haven't done much for 10+ years (except for flannel pants at Christmas). A few years ago I decided to try making a quilt, but I just pieced squares and tied it. I just got my own machine last Fall because I wanted to make blankets for the NICU to celebrate DD's birthday (she spent 100 days there). My sewing this year has been 100 blankets (just finishing the edges) to celebrate her 2nd birthday. So, I do a lot of straight lines, but that's about it. I'm getting a little more into it because I see cute fabric and I like to make blankets for DD. A couple of months ago I saw some cute Minnie fabric (cuter than any I have ever found at a fabric store) so I bought the 7 yards that they had. I'm not positive what I'll do with it, but I think maybe a bedspread for DD when she moves out of her crib. I'm tempted to make a couple more FE's just to try out different fabric and such, we'll see. At least I have one ready to go now and if I don't get around to more that is fine.

Mmmm, LindaBabe, your flourless chocolate cake sounds yummy.

Shauna, do you want the recipe? Healthy, it's not! Yummy? Oh Yeah, but I only ate a teaspoon full!

Got the FE's cut out and the interfacing ironed on. Tuesday, I will sew.

It s a good thing Kathy is gone - she would get out her whip - I found us on page 2!

Everybody must have ahd a nice weekend - they sure weren't around here, lol.

Sleep tight, all!

Hello everyone,

Well I am out of the loop with the talk this weekend. I have some news. My DBF popped the question last night so I'm engaged. So I will update the FE list tomorrow with the new additions. Hope everyone is doing ok. Can't wait to cruise with my Disfamily!

Did someone say Chocolate Cake? :lovestruc

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! This is our last week of summer before school starts on the 24th so Ashley (AllThingsDisneyLover) and I are taking the kids to Hollywood Studios tomorrow for a little "magic". :wizard:

And, well it appears Hurricane Season is really kicking into gear this week - Hello Ana, Bill and Claudette - so might as well celebrate that, too. I hear this week's Magic Eastern sailing has become a DOUBLE DIP Western. Gee, think anyone onboard will mind?;)
We were lucky enough to sail on a Double Dip one year - Awesome! On the other hand, we were unlucky enough to sail in between 2 hurricanes in '04 and couldn't go to Castaway at all, due to extensive damange on the island.:guilty:

Just got back a little while ago. Had a good weekend.
Heading back to the upper 90's this week:eek: Hope we don't hot 100 again. I don't like it that hot.

I'll check back in the morning, I am tired now and still have some dishes to wash and laundry to put away.

Hope everyone had a great weekend,

Kathy

Congrats Traci! You'll have to fill us in on the details when you get a chance. What a great weekend!!!

Good Morning, Everybody!

Congratulations TRACI and Tim!
Wishing you many years of health and happiness together!

Welcome back, Kathy!

Went to the gym and pool this morning, and now working on a mountain of laundry while dh works out and goes for his bike ride. It's supposed to hit 90 here today, so I'll be staying indoors in the good old ac. I love hot, but only in Florida where there are pools to jump in!

Happy day, all!

Good morning everyone,

Linda, we are hitting 90 today too. Upper 90's the rest of the week:eek: I am with you, if I cant jump in a cool pool I am staying inside with the AC on until I have to walk the pups. But those are short walks when It's hot.

We still havnt decided on what excursion to do at St. Croix?
We have narrowed it down to 4 choices , hopefully we will get that decided on soon.
St. Thomas we are going to do Coral world with the semi sub ride. I havnt done a semi sub before, sound slike a great way to see some tropical fish without getting wet. I dont snorkel so this is the only way for me to enjoy that sort of thing.

Has anyone here done the semi sub anywhere before?? I would love to hear what you thought about it.

I have our list all done but I will wait a couple more days before sending it out, in case someone else sends me their information.

If I get info after i send it I will send everyone out the revised copy so you will all have the new persons information.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great start to their week:goodvibes
