November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

It's H2O that's exclusive to DCL - AND their website! We have been known to purchase additional bottles of the body butter to help get by in between cruises! :thumbsup2

Mom's (Vicki) started packing already - the FE/gifts, swimgear, that kind of thing. But we'll wait and do most of our packing the night before. that said, I have a growing "pack stacK" of things that I don't want to forget - chargers, pirate costume pieces, etc...

Thanks! Less that I have to pack ;)

Matt, the pictures of the children were darling-and we're getting that snow here in southcentral PA today-up to 10 inches :scared1: The roads aren't bad because of the higher temps earlier this week, but they're concerned about power outages if trees with wet snow fall on power lines. An Eastern Caribbean cruise sounds really good right now! :)
I really like the H2O products! I see them once in a while at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. That's one less thing to pack. NC2WDW, thanks for mentioning large zip lock bags! I forgot to get those and they come in handy for packing hairspray, sunscreen, that wrinkle relaxer stuff, etc.
I am determined to watch the Magic sail out of Port today! I hope GMA Kathy and family are having a great time and will check in with us!
One week, everyone! :dance3:

Sandy

So were these pictures at Reeger's Pumpkin Patch? In Indiana, PA?? These pictures look like they could be from there.

We are getting some snow but it hasn't amounted to anything yet.

Schramm Farms in Harrison City. It's about 20-30mins southeast of me (Plum).

Yikes, 10" today? We have about 3" on the ground now but the roads are clean. Not all the leaves are off the trees yet so the branches were hangin' pretty low when I took my oldest boy to football this morning.

Can't wait for some sun!

Well, the weather people have calmed down and now it looks like no more than 6 inches-which is still crazy for this time of year!

Hey everyone!

It is 5:20 pm east coast time which means 1 week from now, we will officially be sailing on the Magic for 20 minutes, and those with early dining will be getting ready to meet their dining servers for the first time! :thumbsup2

Hard to believe it is almost here, and Kathy (gma) should be in the air somewhere making their way to MCO! :woohoo:

All is good here... At a retreat right now, but it is a break time so I am checking in! Love the snow pics... Can't believe how much snow some of you are getting! I love snow!!

So who is leaving this weekend for Florida??

Take care everyone!!

Kathy

No problem about mentioning the zip top bags, I was hoping that would help someone. Thanks to you for your mention about wrinkle relaxer, I almost forgot that. I actually refilled the bottle with water and it works fine!

Just a bit of ironing to finish packing in the garment bag and we will be ready to pack the luggage in the car, just after Trunk or Treat on Monday! Last week y'all!!!! :cheer2: Just wait until you hear my southern accent in person :rotfl:

All Packed up 5 bags for us, and 2 for our friends. Plus carry-on bags. There are just the two guys driving in the morning. Leaving at 5am...

Should be asleep, but I'm wide awake :lmao::happytv:

Going to try and go to sleep.

6 days til we fly out! We officially start packing today!

2ksilverbullet - great photos... thanks for sharing!

Lots of frost here in Michigan but no snow... yet.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

- Michael

4 days until we head to MCO! Peter's really getting excited. Between Halloween tomorrow and the cruise it is hard to contain him. He'd leave today if we could get a flight out today. We are in the packing process. I am ahead of Scott in terms of figuring out what I am bringing. We have one of our extra BRs set up as the luggage room and put the clothes we plan to bring in there. I've seen the forecast for Orlando is great for this week and hope that weather extends to our whole trip.

Love the pix of the kids playing in the corn! Can't believe that the NE is getting hit by an early snow. I lived on Long Island most of my life before moving south and remember 2x's we had flurries on Halloween. I work with some folks in Harrisburg, PA and wonder if they will be making it to work tomorrow.

Safe travels to everyone who is headed out early! Have a great day everyone.

Karen

Hi Everybody! We are all packed except for my laptop and a few essentials we are ready to roll out. I can't wait to meet you all for real.

I preached today and tomorrow is a full day for me but then I am on vacation!!

Mickey says hello to everyone:goodvibes

Arrived safely with nice smooth flights. Had a newer plane, I think it said 737-900 and the seats were much more comfortable than others we had been on. Also the 2nd leg of the flight we got emergency islae seats at no extra charge so had extra leg room.
Little boy behind me got air sick so it smelled really good:eek: I did feel badly for him.

Our luggage didnt arrive until 10:30 P.M. which was crazy. I know it arrived on time as we saw it sitting together where Disney keeps their luggage. That was almost 5 hours to deliver it to us.

Weather is toasty warm (sorry snow people) but cloudy and windy. Probably 80 today. Perfect for walking in the parks.

Spent today at Epcot.

I will try to post again before the cruise,

Hope the snow clears soon for all who have it.

Mickey says "See you Real soon!!!"

Josh and I arrived after a twelve hour drive. It was actually pretty fun... Much like college road trips. Though I did get a speeding ticket in the first 3 hours in Virginia. Going 74 in a 65. Oh well, first one in like six years. Like paying extra taxes I guess.

When I told Josh it was an $80.00 ticket\fees and all. I told Josh if I could just pay the $80.00 and be allowed to speed I would. So we slowed down and went only 8 miles over. lol:lmao:

Traffic wasn't bad as it was a Sunday. We got all the bags in the luggage area in the cargo area of the SUV. Which means the Hitch all will only be needed for carry on bags.

GMA Kathy... We won't be able to meet on Friday as we are going to Disney with my work as a group, so I don't want to promise to be there and not make it. If we get away let me know where and we will try to pop in.:yay:

Hi GMA Kathy,

Glad you all arrived safely and had perfect weather for a stroll around EPCOT. Peter asks that you say hi to Buzz Lightyear and Mickey for him. Can't wait to see you at the MK on Fri.

Have a great time!

Hi everyone!

We are back from our weekend away, and NOW it's even more real that we are leaving in less than a week! :woohoo:

I can't believe a week from today, we'll be out to sea on the Magic! Wow!!!

I can't wait to meet all of you in person... will be fun! Everyone seems to nice and a fun group of people. :dance3:

Yay, so glad you guys made it safe!! That is great you got the emergency exit row seats, but not good a kid was barfing behind you! Ewwwww... that would have probably started a trigger reaction with my kids, and that wouldn't have been a pretty sight. :rotfl2:

What airline do you take, Kathy?

Can't believe you've already been to Epcot! How fun!! I LOVE Epcot. That is one of my favorite parks. What rides are your favorite rides??

Glad it is warm there! We looked at the weather forcast, and as of now, it looks like it's supposed to be high 70's and zero chance of rain on Nov 5, so that gives a very very high chance of a very nice sail away party without any rain! :yay:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:I laughed out loud when I read that you decided to just go 8 miles over the limit! That sounds like something I'd do. That is crazy you got a ticket for 9 miles over... I get that it's over the limit, so technically, I see that you were speeding, but maybe it's just here in Washington, but on freeways, we can go 10 miles over the limit and not get a ticket... on side streets and non-freeway roads, if you go 5 miles over the limit, you can get a ticket, so I always make sure I never go 10 miles over on the freeway, and 5 miles over on all the other streets. But, when we drive in other states, I tend to go right what the speed limit is because you never know how much of sticklers cops are in other states... so looks like Virginia, they are much more strict!

You should have put your mickey mouse ears on when the cop came to your window and asked him/her for some "Pixie Dust" instead of giving you a ticket.... :rotfl2::rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ok, that may have landed you in jail, I guess. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well, glad you made it safe and sound with all that luggage! Too bad you didn't have room for a couch to lounge on just like you said you took on college roads trips. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok, everyone! Looks like the board is slowing down a little because everyone is traveling now! Well, I'll see you all next Saturday for sure! But, I'll be posting a lot between now and Friday.

Take care,
Kathy

Here are my boy's dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Tyler chose to be an Airline Pilot (not surprised with how much he loves airplanes and how he wants to be a pilot when he grows up), and my other son, Ryan, chose to be Yoda from Starwars. :) They went trick-or-treating at my DH's work on Friday (this year, his company does trick-or-treating in the buildings both on Friday and on Monday, I think to just even out the amount of kids who come through)... so this picture was taken next to his office.

TylerandRyancostumes.jpg

I sent this picture to a good friend of ours who is a Captain for United Airlines. He has a good sense of humor, and he wrote back to me and said, "I think I flew with that flight attendant once." (speaking of Ryan's Yoda costume). :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I told him, "come to think of it, I think I've also been on a plane with that flight attendant, too!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Anyway, these costumes definitely show my kid's personalities... my oldest (the airline pilot) is more serious, a bit shy, the "responsible" one, and my youngest (Yoda) is the clown of the family... he's always making people laugh. It's so cute how kids pick out costumes that do fit their personalities!

Whoa is our cruise close.

Went costume shopping with DD. Since she was paying she is doing a double duty costume, a pirate for Halloween and for pirate night on the cruise. I bought a Jack Sparrow hat for my brother. And i'll look to see if there are any pirate costumes left the day after Halloween for me and or my Mom.
Suitcases are out but not packed.

We have a busy week so hopefully it will go my fast. DS is so excited and I can't wait to get him on the ship. If he's this excited not knowing what to expect, I can't image what he will do once he arrives!

Question for all you experienced DCL cruisers. Do they check your bags with x-rays of do they physically go through your bags? We are packed to the brim and I have everything just so. Also, had to stuff my FE's in my carry on bag because DH thinks they will break if I don't. He is probably right. So, as of now we still have 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small suitcase and 1 garment bag, plus our carry on. I feel pretty good and all that fitting in the car, but then we add my mom's, and she hasn't even started! Due to her back injury, she will have to ride up front with DH. I am not looking forward to riding in the back, but we all do what we gotta do!
