We also bought halloween costumes tonight... both kids are going as pirates, so they will be all set to go for pirate night next week! I think Christine was able to find us some pirate outfits as well.

Everything is coming together!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

See you in 6 days!

- Michael

Sorry we havn't been on the board sooner I just got back in US from Ireland on business and needed to catch up on work and other issues.

We drove from NJ to Orlando on Wed. Glad to have missed the snow. We celebrated my older sister's birthday (10/26) and my birthday (turned 68 today)

Kathy, we (DW and I) are going to be in MK tomorrow, if you are there we will be watching the Castle show at 4:15, we will look for you. We are staying at our DD townhouse, and will be driving to Port Canaveral on Sat.

Our other two DD's are teachers in NJ and are looking forward to the time off and are sorry that they did not book the cruise to come with us.

Looking forward to seeing everone on the Magic.

Phil

Happy Monday everyone:yay:

Kathy (GMA) glad you got to WDW safely, say hi to Mickey for us, tell him we will see him very soon:thumbsup2

I see everyone is getting packing, I was finishing the FE's and packing too last night, will work on more tonight.
My sister is coming to my work for lunch, we are getting our pedicures done!
Have a great Halloween!
Tanya

Hello Everyone! Happy Halloween!

Glad those that headed to DW are there safely! Can't believe we're leaving Friday!

I have been throwing lots of clothes in our spare room also, but need to start organizing it and figuring out what really needs to be packed. I have to pick up DH's suit from the dry cleaners also and get his stuff out to be packed. He is being Mr. Negative lately but he quit smoking and I think that is making him a tad grumpy.

This is going to be a super busy week for me at work. I have a temp coming in, never mind, she's here! EARLY! So I have to go get her trained to cover me while I'm out next week.

Hope everyone has a safe & fun Halloween!

We leave tomorrow morning at 5am. Today is my last day of work for 2 weeks. I cannot concentrate on anything!!

Hello everyone!!

Boy, all of you who have already left, or are leaving today and tomorrow are getting me antsy!! :) :) We fly out on Friday morning, but we are leaving our house Thursday. We are staying at a hotel at the airport Thursday night since we have an early morning flight Friday, and also Thursday is Tyler's 11th birthday, and he loves planes, so this is what he wanted to do for his bday... stay at a hotel at the airport so he can watch planes. :)

So, technically, we leave Thursday, even though we don't fly to Florida until Friday.

But, so much to do between now and then!! I haven't even started packing yet.... I am going to pack on Wednesday (day before we leave). I'll do all our laundry on Tuesday, and clean the whole house on Wednesday so it's all ready for my friend who is staying here. Then, pack! So, Wednesday is going to be a crazy day. Thursday will be crazy, too. We aren't going to the hotel until Thursday evening, but I'm getting my hair cut Thursday morning, then I have 2 meetings that day at the kid's school, then Ryan needs to go to basketball practice, so taking him to that, and then we leave... so I need to be completely packed by Wednesday in order to make Thursday not any more crazy than it already will be. Oh, I can't wait to leave... then I can totally relax!!!:banana:

BT, good luck with your travels tomorrow morning!!! I hope the roads are ok with the snow that has fallen in your area.

That is great you have 2 weeks off!!! I bet that feels GOOD!

Michael, I love your Duct Tape FE!!! Very cool!! Your daughter is so cute.

Tanya, when did Darcie arrive? Have a ton of fun getting pedicures! Gotta have great looking toes for the cruise. :lovestruc

Kathy (gma), how's WDW??!!

Danielle, great the temp arrived... good luck training!!! It will be so nice for you to know you can leave work and not think about it at all!! :woohoo:

Phil: Very cool you were in Ireland (even though it was business). That is a place I'd love to go one day!! Have fun at MK.... hopefully you can meet up with Kathy (gma)!

Kristi (NC2WDW) - The port is really no different than the airport. They do not go through your bags unless they feel there is a reason to. So, everything (suitcases, carry-ons, etc) all go through an x-ray scanner just like the airport, and if they saw something suspicious, or just something that they felt needed to be checked out, then they'd open your bag to check. But, if there isn't anything suspicious looking or no reason for them to look in your bag, then, no they would not open it up. As far as I know, they've never opened our bags to look (I'm 98% sure because when we've received our suitcases in our rooms, they did not look like they had been opened).

It should be fine... I was certain they'd open our bag because our son has a big plastic sword he uses with his Pirate costume, but they didn't open it... not even the airline opened it!! But, I'm guessing Disney is used to seeing plastic swords in luggage. :) :)

Pedi's were great :)
Darcie wanted to know if anyone knew the prices to get WiFi?

Tanya

I forget the prices exactly, but it's expensive. They have package deals where you can pre-pay a certain amount of minutes, and basically, the more minutes you pre-pay, the cheaper it is per minute, but it's still expensive (in my opinion). you can also just pay by the minute, if you don't plan to use the internet much at all, and then that can be cheaper than buying a package deal.

Anyway, I think it comes out to anwhere between 10 cents a minute (for packages where it's like 500 minutes) to like 50 cents a minute just if you pay per minute without a package deal, and then everything in between (something like 40 cents per minute for like 50 minutes, and then like 30 cents per minute for like 100 minutes, and 20 cents per minute for like 250 minutes...etc).

Don't quote me on prices at all!!! I could be off completely with these prices, but I think this is a ball park guess.

But, here's a tiip.... compose your email message in Microsoft Word first before you get on the internet. Because it literally takes like 2 minutes of your internet time to just access your email (this is if you use the ship comptuers), so just to even access your email, you end up paying a couple dollars.... so if you have your message already composed, just then open your email, cut and paste the email, and then send it, and then log off. But composing all messages in MS Word first will save you a lot of money!! :)

Thanks Kathy for the advice, I have sent it to Darcie. I know I won't be using it... She might.
Tanya :)

Had a great day with some guys I work with at Busch Gardens in Tampa. We drove down and it rained pretty hard till about 11am, but then it cleared up. The rest of the day was awesome. We were riding roller coasters consecutively without having to get off because the lines were so short.
:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::dance3:

So we are just a few hours away from departure and after this I don't know how much more I will be able to post. I will check in when I can but I will see you all on the boat!

w00t!!! :cool1::cool1:we just got switched to the Main Seating!! We had requested it months ago and I just happened to check and see what would happen and we have it!! So excited!!:dance3::dance3:

I'm getting the vacation bug even MORE by reading all these posts of everyone leaving, and already in Orlando, or en route...

Just a few more days for us!! :woohoo:

Yes, we'll see you all on the ship.... 3 PM in the Promenade Lounge! Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

Tanya: How did your Pedicures turn out? :) :)

BT: Congrats on the early dining.... I know that is important for those with little children. I'm glad that worked out!

Kathy (gma): Still waiting to hear how WDW is??!! :) :) Tell us all what parks you've been to, and what your favorite rides are! I'm sure you're having a blast. My good friend is there right now at WDW... she is going to the "Not so scary" Halloween party tonight!

Take care everyone!! We are off to trick-or-treat pretty soon.... BOO!!! ;)

Kathy

Pedi's turned out great!
how do you check if you have first or second seating? Our TA said we had second and some things we got said first....
Just finished tick or treating, hoping the kids will go to sleep tonight.
Safe travels to those who are travelling.
Tanya :)

Hmmm.... I'm now confused about the dining!! I jsut emailed my TA, and I should hear back from her tomorrow, and things should be cleared up. But, when we made our reservation, they only had late dining available, so we just took that. But, we never requested to be changed to early dining.... we were fine just staying at late dining. But, now all this discussion about dining here, I went online to see where it says which dining we have, and when I logged on and got on our reservation for this cruise, it says we have main dining! Hmmm.... Interesting! I never got an email or any notice that we had been switched, nor had we requested to be switched, but our reservation that my TA sent to us months ago says late dining.

So, we MAY have early dining now... if we do, that is not what we've been thinking or expecting, but it's ok. We'll be fine with early dining.... only thing is it'll be hard the first couple days because we'll be on West Coast time at first, and so 5:45 will seem like 2:45 PM! This just means we'll eat a very light lunch!!

Anyway, Tanya, if you go online to your reservation on the Disney Cruise website, log on to your reservation. Once you log on, it'll say something like, "only 4 days until you set sail", and below that will be "view details of my reservation." Click on that, and it'll bring you to all the details (everyone in your party, your stateroom, etc., and it'll say there if you have main or late dining). So, look there and see what it says.

Well.... I guess we are now early dining now! What an unexpected change!

Kathy

Hi everyone,
loved all the photos, you've all been quite chatty.
Tim sorry we will miss you on friday.

Karen, Tell Peter I will deliver his message tomorrow when I see mIckey and Buzz again.

It rained all morning here but was 70 degrees. So we just bought ponchos and headed out anyway. Loved that there were no lines at Hollywood studios today. The rain kept people in a lot.

Kathy,
favorite rides well I have so many. I love Haunted Mansion, Toy Story Mania, the Great Movie Ride, Buzz light year, Star Tours, Kahli River Rapids, just too many to choose from, oh and i love all the 3 and 4D shows in the parks.

Went to Chef Mickeys tonight. Most people were all dressed up for the Halloween party at MK. Of course all the resorts had trick or treating too and some special events every 2 hours all day long. Plus movies by the pool every night.

Got lots of photos and hugs and kisses from several characters already. Tomorrow will be MK or AK, suppose to be nice the rest of the week.
Will try to get back once more before the cruise but the next few days are very busy. Still suffering from a bit of jet lag.

Plus I have discovered my legs dont walk as far or as fast as they use to for some strange reason:lmao:

Hope to post again but in case I dont get to, I will see some of you on friday and the rest on saturday,

kathy

Great pumpkin! I wish I had thought of that, we have one we didn't carve. And love the FE! She looks so proud! I think we started a trend :thumbsup2 I bet there will be lots more duct tape FE's in the future!

We got done with out trick or treating, here is Peter as Mario:

I've got a couple of busy day left at work, and then some busy days when I get back; but in between I'll be on my cruise and forget it all! See y'all in 5 days!!!

mikeejay: Love the pumpkin and the FE. I tried to carve a Mickey pumpkin once and it didn't turn out. Now I have the head, hands and feet inserts that go into the pumpkin that make the pumpkin the body. Of course the head, hands, and feet are that of Mickey and Minnie!

GreensboroKG: Love the Mario costume. Kole will love it when he sees it, he is a Mario fan. I wasn't thinking and I packed the pirate costumes that were going to be Halloween costumes too. I decided not to unpack them and make the kids come up with things around the house. Kole decided to be Mickey Mouse. He wore his sisters black tights, red shorts, and black shirt. I already had a tail and ears from my being Minnie in 2001. Kaleigh painted up and old shirt, made an artists palette, wore a hat and was an artist. They turned out really good.

LovesToRun: Glad you may be joining us for early dining!

Here's hoping the next 3 days go by fast and safe!
