Morning everyone,
Kathy, I have the simpliest cell phone. I do not even know how to text people and I dont care to. My DH and son both have nice phones with apps on them that are so advanced I would hate to have to learn all that. They also have a GPS so they can tell where each other are at.
My DH has a fancy phone provided by work too.
I told him when he got me my phone to get the most simple one he could find.
It is hard to find a simple one any more.

You guys sound just like my husband with the cell phone! We just upgraded in April and he insisted that I upgrade my Blackberry to the new iPhone, but then he picked out the most basic phone that the store had. He did get one with a texting keyboard, he said he was going to learn how to text

but he never activated the texting plan!
One of the good things about my phone is that I can still post on here, when my kids are hogging the computer

I'm loving the simple phone thing here.... the ONLY reason I text is because most of my friends text ALL the time, and I never ever texted. My phone has texting capabilities, but I never used it. I found out my friends were sending me text messages, but I didn't even know they were there becuase i didn't even know how to check the text messages, let alone send one.

So, finally a couple of my friends asked why I am totally ignoring their texts, and I was so puzzled!

I didn't even know they had sent me texts!!

So, a couple of my friends pretty much did an intervetion with me

and showed me how to text and told me once I start doing it, I'll realize what I've been missing!!

So, I figured it out, and I do have to say, I DO like it.... it's much better than calling on the phone (for just small things like questions, etc). So, now I text all the time, but have only been texting for less than a year....
But, other than that, I'm just very simple when it comes to a phone. I do like being able to access email and the internet on my phone because I do email a lot!! It's my main mode of communicaton when I'm not speaking to people in person, so it's nice having email access on my phone, and internet access, too, for when I'm not home, I can quickly look up info I need.
But, other than that.... my phone supposedly has all these apps (I have the Windows Phone.... Iphone's competitor), but I've never used an App in my life... I don't even really understand what they do. My DH has tried to tell me, but I think it's such a low interest in my book that I jsut don't try to understand.
But, my friends (and family) call me a "late bloomer" with technology, so that said, I seem to be a couple years behind everyone else in getting into the newest technologies, so I would not doubt that in a year or two, I might be using the Apps... who knows.... but right now, just not something on my radar. My DH uses them, though, so when we're together, I just let him do the App thing, and that is good enough for me.
