Hello everyone,
I am exhausted today but the wedding went off perfectly.
It was so nice and casual, just like the bride and grooms personalities.
I will post photos this week.
Will just tell you a couple cute things that happened.
They had a Hill billy wedding cake for their wedding. The decorated tiered cake will be at the reception next saturday.
For those who arnt country folk like us, you probably have never heard of a hillbilly wedding cake. I assure you it is real.
You make a layer across the cake plate of hostess twinkies, then using wooded skewers you stick together layers of Suzy Q's, ding dongs, zingers, yellow and chocolate cupcakes and you stack as high as the weight will support them. They added a few small frosting red rose buds to finish it off.
Then on top were 2 tiny statues of black labs. One with a black ribbon and the other with a white lace ribbon.
Those represented their 2 labs, Lefty and Poncho, who were the ring bearers. Their dogs had the identical ribbons on with the rings attached.
They followed my son to the gazebo for the ceremony and then laid down until the rings were needed.
Once during the ceremony Lefty let out a huge burp and everyone laughed including the minister.
Also my son never proposed to Belinda. They just talked about getting married and it went from there.
She always teased him about that. He told her since he didnt proposed then he could sneak out and not break his word
So just as the ceremony was about to start the minister paused and Randy proposed. She was so surprized (already so nervous) she put her hand on her hip and said rather loudly , Now you ask me!!! Then she turned to the guests and told them he had not proposed yet.
Then she waited for the minister to start and he didnt.

I told her, Belinda you didnt say YES!!
Oh, I didnt answer. Yes I will marry you. Then the ceremony began.
Randy had set this up with the Minister ahead of time to pause and then wait if she didnt answer him.
She was just so excited and nervous she wasnt thinking clearly.
We arrived about 90 minutes prior to the ceremony because they were servimg food for their guests and time to meet her family. When we arrived the bride was in a simple house dress and bare foot running around asking if different things were done. Just panic mode. Her sisters told her to relax and sit down but she was just to psyched up to do that. Eventually they got her back to get dressed.
My son was no where ot be found. He had gone to the store for something but I told her he was headed to Mexico!! Just being helpful

I wont bore you with other things but I thought you might like to heard the few things that were not typical for a wedding.
I am exhausted, will post photos soon,
Kathy
