November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Magic_PortCanaveral.jpg

Here is a google map photo of Magic in port. For those using a rental car. Most of the rental car locations look to be just south a mile or so from the port.

You can go to maps.google.com
and search port canaveral, fl Avis rental car
Substitute the name of the company you want to use. It will show a birds I view of your route. To get from the Airport to Port you only need to get on 528 East (toll). Hope this helps those driving.

We got our DD passport yesterday! One less thing to worry about! For those that want to know how long it took we went to post office on Aug 23.

Gee with this post I only need 339 more posts to meet my goal by cruise time.:thumbsup2

How are the rest of you ladies doing on your goals???

Happy Friday everyone:yay:

I LOVE your family pirate night picture!!!!! I love all of your costumes. So great!!! :)

Claire, where did you get your costume? I love it! I don't really have a good pirate's night costume. I just wear a pair of grey colored capri pants, a little black tank top and then I have these cute Mickey Princess Pirate ears that I wear. My DH and boys have really great costumes.... I'm the only one who doesn't, but that was partly my choice. I'm not hugely into dressing up, but since my whole family dresses up, I felt like I should dress up a little so I fit in with them somewhat. :)

If I found a cute costume like yours, I might venture out and actually dress up!

Anyway, great picture... Love all the costumes... love your DH's "long hair". pirate: :)

Your kids are very cute, too.

Also, loved the Pirate night dance party photos.... The dance party is SOOOOO much fun!!

Take care,
kathy

Happy friday all,

Who has a suggestion for a name for our group??
Be thinking about a name, then post what ideas you get.

Once we have a few choices we can vote on them or pull a name out of the hat and then we will have a name.

Hopefully by the next weekend we will have a name.

Obviously I am working on my posts by posting a few short posts instead of one long one:goodvibes

I am getting excited for tomorrow evening my son is getting married.:cloud9:
I can't believe she roped him into getting married:rotfl2: He swore he wouldnt marry and now he is all excited about it. Guess that shows it just takes meeting the right person.
Now to see if she gets him out of his blue jeans for the ceremony;) Only twice has he been in slacks and he did that for me for graduation and a wedding. So we shall see what happens.:lmao:

We are all foggy today, not sure if we will have any sun today or just clouds, but we should reach 70 which is nice.

Back later,

Hioe everyone is having a great day!!

Kathy

After this post, I will have 84 posts to go.

339 posts to go.... you might want to split up one post into a few posts, like write one sentence per post until you have written what you wanted to say. :lmao: :lmao:

There are no rules to this little game, so why not? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think when we made these goals, I set it for 100 posts as my goal, so that means from when we set the game until now, I've only written 26 posts, which is a lot, but at this rate, I may be up for a challenge to reach my goal!! I better get cracking! :cheer2:

It's a fun little game!

Kathy

Only 84 huh?
I think we should add a 1 infront of that 84 :lmao:
I usually post 2 or 3 times a day. I will just start posting more photos when I can to up my posts.:thumbsup2

I still think I am chatty enough to make it to my goal :thumbsup2
Not many have 20,000 posts!! Especially since I dont post on the main forum. Just the cruise meets threads.

Here is the sign welcoming you to Castaway Cay. I always look forward to seeing it because it means its going to be a fun day ahead.

I HATE this sign. I means we are leaving Castaway Cay and it will be the last time we board the ship this trip. Next stop is Port Canaveral in the morning.

This sailing ship is made of all bread. It was on display in the buffet. They change the displys on and off and they are all made from food.

Thanks Kathy

I got my costume at one of the halloween stores a few years ago, it was a little long, or maybe i am a little short:rotfl: but i had to adjust the length, so i zigzaged the bottom. It actually ended up a little shorter than i planned, ooppps;)

Pirate night seems to be the only night DH actually "let's his hair down":lmao: He did end up throwing his costume away at the end of last years pirates night, as it was getting a little old and dirty, he spilt to much rum on it i think!!

How exciting! Have a wonderful day and I hope you can post a picture of the happy couple (and the groom's parents!). :)

Hi All,

Claire, I will have to look more closely at adult women pirate costumes this year and see if anything stands out to me. Maybe I'll be more adventurous this year and dress up a little more. We'll see. :) But, I do love your costume! Good job on cutting it shorter and making the zig zags at the bottom... I would have never guessed you did that!

Kathy (gma), love all your pictures! That pirate ship made of bread is amazing! I would never have thought in a million years to make an art sculpture out of bread! I always love all of the different scults/art work they make out of food every day at the buffets... so creative!

And, congrats on your son's wedding tomorrow!!!! What an exciting day! You'll have to post some pictures... and we'll get to see if your son decides to venture out of jeans just for the day! :) Have a great day tomorrow, and I hope the weather cooperates, too. :)

Well, today for me was a busy day of baking...lots of baking!!! Today (in about an hour) is our kid's schools Back to School BBQ the PTSA throws every year. It's super fun, and there are all sorts of activities, and there is live music, and a big BBQ so people come and eat dinner. Well, the 4th grade (my youngest son's grade) every year holds a big bake sale at this BBQ to raise money for a big end of the year field trip they do in May... and all day field trip where they are gone from 9 AM - 8 PM!! So, a bunch of parents (including me) were recruted to bake items for the bake sale.

So, I baked 48 frosted/decorated sugar cookie pops (basically a frosted decorated sugar cookie with a popscicle stick coming out of it, so it looks like a lollipop, but it's a cookie. They are really cute and fun for kids), and then I baked 16 chocolate cupcakes with a vanilla cream filling inside of them. Yummm!

So, that was time consuming, but the other time consuming part is the 4th grade kids will be selling each baked good individually for 50 cents a piece, so we had to individually wrap each and every baked good item in some sort of plastic wrapping.

Needless to say, I baked, decorated, and wrappped up baked goods for about 6 hours straight today.

But, if the kids sell every item that all the parents are bringing today, they should make $260.00... so that'll be great and will help a lot with paying for the field trip.

So, we are headed out to the BBQ soon, but just decided to sit down and rest my tired feet from being on them all day in the kitchen and check this board, and think about our Disney Cruise.

Take care and have a great evening, everyone!

Kathy

Could someone please give me the lowdown on the special/ dress-up nights? More plans to make...lol. Getting excited :cheer2:
Thanks..you all are so knowledgeable and helpful!

The 7 day cruises have 1 formal night and 1 semi formal night and then pirate night where everyonei s invited to dress like a pirate and you wear your costume to dinner and to the Pirate party later that evening.:cool1: The rest of the nights are casual dress.

Those who are not comfortable dresing in full costumes, just a pirate t-shirt and maybe a head bandana ang an eye patch work great too:thumbsup2
They use to give a free pirate bandana at dinner but I dont think they do that anymore and your menu looks like a pirate map all rolled up and its a souvenir to keep. Not sure if they sitll do that too. It really adds to the theme of the night. Yor wait staff will be dressed up too.

Kathy,
Good luck at the bake sale and dinner tonight. I love the pop sugar cookies. I have seen photos of them and they are so cute and easy for even little kids to eat without a mess due to the stick to hold them with.:goodvibes
