Ok ladies here are what you predicted for your goals by cruise time.
check and see where you are on your count.
Kathy (Loves to run) reached her goal already.:cheer2:

I think she needs to strive for another 100 posts by cruise time:thumbsup2

I know all of us can reach our goals, just keep up the great posting.

Since we leave a week prior to the cruise I have 7 days less to meet my goal so I need to keep at it.

Just thought you might like to see how your doing on your total.

What is your favorite restaurant onboard DCL? Or for our newbies, which restaurant are you most looking forward to dining in?? Not just for the food, but the whole experience?

I think I would have to say mine is Animators Palate, I won't ruin it for the people have never cruised with DCL before, but it is very cool!

Good question! We got the late dinner so unless we can bump our time back down (we requested it, haven't heard any updates), I have a feeling we won't be at dinner much. My youngest is in bed at 8pm. I really don't mind though, just the whole experience of being on a cruise is going to be overwhelming enough for us.

Now that the trip is getting so much closer, I'm going to peruse around the DCL site some more and look closer at what there is to do, eat, etc.

My very favorite is Palo!! But, in terms of the restaurants everyone goes to and is assigned to, I would say mine is Lumiers. :thumbsup2

If you don't get switched before we cruise, the day you board the ship, go straight to Wave Bands (I think that is what it's called...sorry, I get the Wonder and Magic mixed up... or is it Rockin Bar D that is on the Magic... anyway, it's one of those (I just can't remember which on is on the Magic and which one is on the Wonder)? But, it is are on deck 3, I believe. If you go there as soon as you board the ship, there will be a desk there where you can have the chance to change your dining time, if there is availability. I think if you get there right away (ie, not wait until like 3 PM, but go as soon as you get on the ship), you have a good chance of getting it switched. :) This is also where you'd go if you want to change your Palo reservation, or try to get a 2nd Palo reservation.

While I like Animator's a lot, I think I will have to branch off and say Top Sider Buffet. I think it has something to do with that being where we start each cruise. Come on board and then head up to Top Siders and have a meal on the deck outside and have the whole cruise to look forward to.

To backtrack, my most memorable Disney Moment...I'm not sure if one tops all the others, but here are a few from different trips:

1) When I was in college, my dad took my brother & I to DW, it was our first trip together (my parents are divorced & my brother is my half brother and 8 yrs younger than me). I remember standing in line for Tower of Terror playing Thumb Wars with my brother. It was so strange to me having someone to 'play' with like that. We were really and truly siblings the whole trip even though we spent VERY little time together (once or twice a year for an hour or two).

2) When we took DD to DW for the first time, she was about 20 months old. She was having an absolute fit while we were at Epcot waiting for the fireworks show. But once it started, she was in complete awe of it. It was amazing. I wish I had a picture of her reaching out to touch them.

3) The second time we took DD, she was 2 1/2, she was way into Toy Story at the time so as soon as we got into town, we headed right for MGM and had dinner at Pizza Planet. She thought it was the best dinner ever. (I learned to start taking pictures of these magical moments!). Then we did a character breakfast on that trip and when she saw them come out, her whole face lit up with such excitment. We have the greatest picture.

4) The last time we took DD, she was 4 1/2 and loved Cinderella. I had bought her a beautiful Cinderella gown to wear to the park the day we went to MK & then the dinner with Cinderella & Prince Charming etc. When she met Cinderella at MK the excitment was over the top. Talk about magical! She wanted to skip Belle & Sleeping Beauty in line, she could hardly contain herself, LOL! I have the cutest pic of when Cinderella asked to see her 'glass slippers' and Isabella lifted her dress and showed her dirty old sneakers. It was so precious.

Soooo as you can see, I think taking younger kids on these types of trips is just fine even if they don't remember it. On the cruise though, I think I would have definately waited for her to be out of diapers if they aren't allowed in the pool. Now she's 7 so I don't have to worry about it ;)

Since the question was DCL - I"m afriad I have to give my favorite to Remy on the Dream. WOW! What an incredible experience that is!

For the Magic, probably Animator's Palatte - but more for the show than for the food...

Gosh,
I got away for 2 hours and come back to tons of great posts to read and now on page 104.:cool1:

You guys are really cookin today.

Kathy

I leave for one day and I come back to 2 more pages of posts. Wow!! So, I am most looking forward to Palo's....simply because it is a day without our kids. Don't get me wrong I love my kids but not having to pick things up off the floor is absolutely magical.

Just wanted to take a moment to brag! I finished my gift tonight!! WooHoo! one more check mark on the to do list before the trip!

Congrats mrp4352! Hope you are getting excited like we are. Can't wait! We took another ring off the chain.

24 more days....that is good because when I booked it was like 200+ or something but still 24 more days....makes me a little sad.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

24 days sounds AWESOME!!!

For us its actually 17 days until we leave, so my chain is really looking short after removing my link today:banana::banana:
We will take a laptop with us, so I will still post that last week, just not quite as often since we will be busy enjoying WDW:love:

Anybody have a question of the day today??

Kathy

I have a couple random questions:

1) what time of day does DCL start serving alcohol?

2)If I brought lactose free milk, would they store it for me? (probably won't, but might consider it if they will)

Sorry dont know about your #1 question.

#2. If you need it due to an allergy, you can notify the ship ahead of time with the medical form and they will order it and have some available just for you. But I would call and double check for it. I know others who have needed soy milk in the past and they notified the ship ahead of time, so they had some available for them. They even had soy based ice cream for dessert.
I believe they called and sent the medical form which you can print off on line. DCL is great about allergies.

If you choose to bring your own, just for peace of mind you can bring it in a small soft sided cooler and then ask your room host to keep it filled with ice, although the mini cooler in the room may keep it cool enough. Its a small frig so would bring quart size.

Good morning, everyone!

I can't believe how close it is until the cruise! Wow! Hopefully everyone is doing well, and getting all geared up to go!

I am not positive on this, but I think you can get alcohol 24 hrs a day through room service, and as for the bars/lounges, I think they are open early... I don't know though for sure, but I think I remember seeing Cast Members at the lounges and bars early in the mornings... also the adult cafe (called Cove Cafe) serves alcohol, and that is open early... like 6 AM, but it's open that early so people can get their espresso drinks. :thumbsup2 But, I'm sure they'd serve alcohol that early if you ordered it since there is a full bar in the Cove Cafe as well as an espresso/coffee cafe.

But, I know I've gotten cocktails at like noon at the adult pool area while I'm just hanging out at the pool, so I know for sure they serve alcohol at that time... I just have no idea about earlier. I'm guessing they do, because there are poeple who do like a drink in the morning (mimosas, or blood mary's, etc).

And, I don't know about the lactose free milk.... I would say the same thing Kathy (gma) said. I also have heard if you have a medical reason, you can have a refigerator brought into your room, but I think you need a medical form for that. The fridges that are in the rooms arleady are not cold enough to store milk....they are more like coolers.

But, yes... I'd call DCL and say you need Lactose Free milk, and I'm positive they will provide it for you.... I would imagine that is a very common request.

Good luck!
Kathy
