November 30, 2013 - Walt turns 112 on the Wonder

Hi All! I just booked this cruise for my family last week ~ I'm SO stinking excited!
It will be my husband and me, plus our two children (11 DS and 9 DD).

I'm a DTA and although I've planned many cruises for clients aboard DCL, this is my first and now I'm playing catch-up for all the things I should have already planned! pirate:

I'd like to participate in a fish extender group. When I have more time tomorrow, I will go back and reread ALL the posts in this thread ~ looking forward to learning from more experienced cruisers!
Thanks,
Lindsey

Hello everybody! Couple of weeks ago we finally decided to book Disney cruise :) It will be first cruise ever for me and my family. We are very excited!!!

I just came across your post and really liked the idea of FE. I will attempt to sign us up for it :)

My name is Mariya, my DH Tom, DS Aleksei (10 y.o.) and DD Anya, who will be turning 6 y.o. on Dec. 6th.

We do not have our room numbers yet :( I will add them to the list as soon as i get them.

Thank you very much,

Mariya

Just got our room assignment! 7505! We were booked on an IGT reservation, and it looks like we got a 10A category.

Welcome to our group all!! I love seeing the group grow!
Yes, FE is still available and I do see nursemariya's family!

We were booked on IGT reservation also. But we still do not have a room :( How did you find out about your room assignment? Did they send you an email?

Okay, I see the link to the FE spreadsheet, but I cannot tell how to add my family to it. Help, please...would like to join!

Never mind, I think I did it! :)
I will double-check, but I think I DO have my cabin #s as we have 3 rooms (there wasn't a single accessible cabin for 4+ left when I booked, so we have 2 interior ones that sleep 3 so one is accessible). I will update with those numbers asap!

Nope, no email. I was randomly checking my reservation summary on the DCL page, and I saw it had put in a stateroom number where it wasn't there before (previously it just said GTY)

Howdy y'all,

We just booked this trip yesterday and I think I'm more excited than anyone else. We fell in love with Disney Cruises in January, when we took the Magic out of Galveston to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Even though, as a former teacher, I have a lot of guilt at taking the girls, Grace (12) and Caroline (10) out of school (for the second time in a calendar year!), there's just something about family travel and exploration that helps me convince myself it's OK.

This time my mom, Mary, and her man, John, will also be cruising with us. My mom's 69th birthday is on the 6th and my husband's (Brad) is on the 10th so we see this as a birthday celebration cruise.

As far as excursions, I have every intention of revisiting Stingray City in Grand Cayman, as that was a great experience, and I know there's no way we're wasting money on the Cozumel catamaran (snorkeling & beach play) trip again, but I haven't the foggiest idea what to do in Jamaica.

I'm also considering the FE fun, but none of us is very cutsie. Would you suggest refraining in that case?

Also, my mom & John got cabin 6152. There are not a lot of reviews on that particular cabin, which seems to have a considerably larger verandah than the typical Navigator's Verandah rooms. Does anyone have any experience with it or its mirror, 6652? Our little family of 4 has a guaranteed inside. I'm cringing about that, but hoping we can upgrade at some point.

Here's to 55 more days, folks!

:yay: Kristen

Please don't refrain from FE.. It is fun, and for added excitement!! A gift for FE can be anything!! It can be home made, store bought, what makes your home town, pirate, disney... Even anything in the dollar section at target that you would like!! If you would enjoy FEs then sign up for them!! It's fun!

As for missing school... I feel this weighs on every parent... But the child will get so much life experience..and when they talk about the cruise it won't be ... Well I missed school to do.... My kiddo actually missed over 50 days of school last year. (Most medical... 1 cruise) he came back from the cruise to Monday morning state testin! He blew it out of the water! I think that the cruise relaxed him enough to do so well!!

Welcome aboard! This is a great group!!

We just booked this sailing today, so excited! Our first Disney cruise although we have sailed with Carnival a few times. Got a great deal on an OGT & I'll be happy with whatever room we're assigned. 54 days! The shortest I've ever planned a trip!

Eta: it will be myself, DH and DD10, will be 11 in Jan.

FE Question: do people usually put cards/notes with the gifts saying who they are from, or is it anonymous? Doesn't matter to us either way, I'm just trying to figure out if I should attach something to ours.

PS I just figured out what we'll be giving, and I can't wait to deliver them!

I have heard that It's totally up to you if you want to let people know it's your gift and some put from cabin# or family name and cabin #
Whatever you choose is fine hth :)

Ok, I've decided to jump into the FE craziness, I know DD10 will love it. However, I'm NOT crafty at all and I don't want to spend the $$ on a custom FE so since we're sailing in Dec. I'm thinking of just using a Disney Christmas stocking. Would that be weird?

PS I also submitted a FB request to join the group. Thanks!
