November 3, 2012 - Election Escape Eastern!!

Just realized daylight savings time happens when we are on the cruise.... we fall back, so we get an extra hour on the fantasy:cool1:

OK...went out last night and bought the transfer paper for the tee shirts, which should be here any day now, so this weekend will be tee-shirt day! I bought dark tee-shirt paper...hope that it's gonna work! I've only ever done white, light pink and light blue shirts before! :confused3

Also got some magnet paper, though Sulley asked me why, I have enough magnets now to choke a horse, and I said, "new ones, silly! that would be like me wearing the same dress all the time!" Silly man! :lmao:

Going back and forth on FE...don't really have a good idea this time, but want to hang my FE, I love it so much! :worried:

But hey!! We are less than 3 months away, AND we found out we GET AN EXTRA HOUR ONBOARD!!!!:banana:

I can't wait to see how your shirts turn out. I used the dark shirt paper for our last cruise shirts and it works great. Just make sure you trim well around the edges of your design because the white background will show up on your shirt when you iron it on.

Magnets .... that's killing me this year. I usually have a door-full and change them out daily. The new doors in concierge, though, will prohibit that for me this time. It's probably good, though .... I don't have time to make MORE magnets! LOL!!!

I've still got to finish our two FEs. I have them started and the pieces cut out. I have to finish the embroidery, though, so I can put it all together.

OH really? That's interesting! I did not know that. We just upgraded our cruise next year to concierge since it's our 35th Anniversary, we thought why the heck not! Now I won't be able to put up a 35th anniversary magnet!! :(

The concierge doors on the Fantasy and Dream are wooden veneer. You can put a magnet up, but it has to be a really strong one to get through the veneer.

I am disappointed that I won't have magnets up, but at least that gives me a little more time for the other stuff I need to get done.

Hang something on the FE or the door frame for your anniversary!!

Well, for sure the magnet stuff for printers won't stick! :rotfl:

I will. I have a magnet I made from when we were first married I used on our 30th anniversary cruise, and I was going to make a 'now' magnet to go with it. But it's all good. I'm just excited to be concierge anyway!

The FE is a good idea. I got time to plan!!

We are having a meet and greet this Sunday at 1:30pm at Dorbrook Recreation Center in Colts Neck. There is a great park and has a fabulous and free splashpark.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

I live in Ohio, but about 40 min from Pittsburgh. Tastefully Jen on here is from Pittsburgh suburb. We both cruised on the Dream in April 2011. Actually our kids spent much of the last two days together at the South Hills Mall at the Apple Store Camp. :thumbsup2

Question: in St. Thomas, they are a different time zone... so when the excursion says 815.. is that St. Thomas time or Eastern Time??

Amy--this is my friend Christy! We need to plan a Pittsburgh meet! Maybe a swim day!

I got an automated call from DCL that the Discovery Scuba wont be offered that I had booked in ST Thomas

I may try to do I alone!

I admit I've been peeking at how full our cruise was off and on as we get closer and closer... is anyone else surprised at how much availability has popped up since last week?? Previously there were ONLY verandahs left now there are cabins all over. I admit I am disappointed... it wouldn't matter except that as the ship books the price goes up, so all these cancellations mean we (at least those who hadn't booked on opening day) might have not had to pay so much if people hadn't booked cruises they weren't planning on keeping. I know at least some were probably dashed dreams and I am sorry for those and mean no ill will, but I wonder how much it would have changed things... :scratchin Since we have to pay in full 90 days out to book excursions but the PIF date isn't REALLY until 75 days it means I missed rebooking at a lower price by 15 days... and that is how they have planned it!

Oh, we did that last trip! It was awesome! I wonder why they aren't doing it? Was it lack of participation or is there an issue with the tour operator? the operation was a little run down and perhaps DCL no longer feels it's safe? I would reach out and see if you can get further clarification. If it's simply not enough participation, I would say go for it!! It was a blast.

Nope. :( I guess I'll have a plain door this time. It will be weird!

That's so cool. Perhaps you can mount them both on something to hang with the FE.

Yes, you do!! :)

Sure wish we could be there. Make a little 'Sampson Family' puppet and put it in the meet-n-greet picture! LOL!!!

I would have booked regardless of the price change. Our PIF date was 120 days out. And, actually, I'm ok if the ship isn't really full. I love a quieter ship. :) I'm sorry that you didn't get the best deal, though. I know that's frustrating.

I read great reviews on the full day snorkle to bucks island and honeymoon beach. That is what I booked. :thumbsup2

We also booked the full day sail, snorkel and beach! Seems like we will have fun! I wonder if we will have any time left to do a little souvenir shopping?? Counting down the days until we cruise;)

AquaDame, if the prices become cheaper, even if you paid in full Disney will adjust your payment and refund you the difference. But you will have to call them. I'm going on the Canada cruise from NYC on Sept 2nd. I booked in April 2011. Paid my balance in full and a few weeks ago Disney released a promotion to try and fill rooms. I called and got a refund of the difference. My refund wasn't much. But I know many people got between $500-$1200 refunds.

I can't wait to get our cabin assignment...we're currently GTY. I hope we get it soon enough to pass along to the FE list maker.

Twelve weeks from today....hmmmm.....so nice to think about what I'll be doing at this time....
