November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

We did the same thing in May 2006. Grill's is great! And it's in a great location to watch "water activity"! We won't be in till around 7pm, so we're going to play it by ear.

We are flying in on Friday and staying at Ron Jons.

Got the Palo reservations and excursions booked... now all that I have left to do is lose 20 lbs!!! :rotfl2:

We are staying there also. Flight is due in by 6 pm. Nov 2 is Treasure's birthday she is turning 11. So what we do that night is her choice.

We're driving down, leaving on 10/30 and will arrive at Disney's HHI resort on the 31st. We're staying there 2 nights before heading on to Coronado Springs for Friday night, then will drive to the port Sat. AM. I'd rather stay at the port, but nothing is available. :(

Are you staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites or the Country Inn and Suites?

If it's Country Inn and Suites, maybe our DD's can meet each other there.

Too many 10 hour days.... waiting for the new pharmacist to start. It's Country INN and Suites not Comfort.

lovetotravel.... Treasure would love to meet up with your daughter... She is..... :yay:

I saw your editing right after I posted. Look forward to meeting you.

Just got back from vacation, and DH and I just tried to reserve our excursions and Palo's. I know we're one day late, but it's telling us there are NO reservations available for Palo brunch or high tea!!!!!! It would allow us in to dinner times, but we just want to do the brunch... I can't imagine that every slot is filled already. Anyone else have a problem? We are part of the group, but I hadn't heard that that would affect this so I'm stumped.

We got our excursions booked just fine, and registered DS for the Lab. I guess we don't have to register DD for The Stack ahead of time...

We're staying at the Radisson Friday night.

If anyone has info or suggestions about the Palo Brunch problem, let me know.

I too was bummed to find that hardly any spa ressies avail on at sea days. But was able to book one:yay:

At the risk of sounding dumb, what group are you??

What excursions have you booked?? I'm still stumped:surfweb:

Any secrets to losing the lbs?? I can't buy new clothes until I do so!

On Key West--we are planning to go on the Conch Train Tour (but not through Disney). If you book it yourself, you can use it unlimited times--so it becomes transportation as well as a tour. If you book it through Disney, it is just a tour and you have to get off at the end.

On Cozumel--we didn't book anything. We are planning to go to either Mr Sanchos or Nachi-Cocum. It is Pirate Night that night. On our last cruise we made the mistake of tiring our kids out so much during the day, that by the time evening came--my daughter was too pooped to enjoy Pirate Night. (And she has never let us forget it...) Plus we have our parents with us, and they didn't want to do anything too active.

On Grand Caymen--we booked the Nautilus Undersea Tour. It sounded really nice in the guide books (and I was afraid I would feel too claustrophobic in the Atlantis sub!!)

So, all in all, we didn't really book that many things ... (I wish I did have suggestions for losing weight too... I don't have any luck there)

If I remember correctly from the last cruise, there were openings in both Palo and the Spa while you are onboard. People cancelled their reservations all the time. When we got onboard, we called Palo's and asked them to call us if anything opened up--we almost always got in.

We were able to book 1 brunch and 1 dinner at Palo. I also believe I've seen it posted on the boards that they don't make all of the Palo dining "spots" available for online reservations, but hold back a large percentage for booking once people get to the ship. It may be worth checking once you board, or checking online if people cancel. Hope everybody is able to land a reservation!

Thanks for the info - very helpful! I didn't know about booking the Conch Train w/Disney vs. the operator directly. I'm going to look into that.

I've been reading the Passporter for cruiser reviews as a guide as to what we should book. Have you heard anything about a Catamaran Racing excursion at Key West? From my research, it's been offered thru Disney off-and-on for the past couple of years, but it's not offered at the moment. DH is very bummed about this (he did a regatta race in Nassau and was a very happy camper!).

How many will you be traveling with on this cruise?

Love the Passporter books!! They really do know their stuff! This is the 1st time we are taking my parents on the cruise with us, and they have never been on a cruise before. I didn't want to push them too hard, since they aren't the "athletic type" of people. (But man, they have so much more energy than me!) :yay:

I don't know about the excursion that your DH would like to go on,...sorry--but try Googling it--I always find great info there. There are other cruise forums (that I found on Google) that have some different point of views of the excursions too.

My family and I are all going to be there as well. My parents are in their 70's and my brother, his wife and son (14) and daughter (9) will be going to. They are flying and my parents and I are driving and arriving on Friday. We are all booked at the La Quinta in Cocoa Beach - they have a park and cruise deal with shuttles to the port. We have been booked for so long we have a countdown going.

Any ideas on what still will be available in excursions when we new timers can finally log on and make our reservations? We have to wait for the 75 day mark.
:confused3
:yay:

Speaking of excursions----

Do we pay for the excursion when we book it or do we pay for it when we experience it?

I think I will post this question on the main cruise boards too, but any help here would be appreciated.

Your excursions are automatically added to your Stateroom account (for which you can pay by cash or credit card at the end of the cruise). Hey, it is what it is, right!?:rolleyes1

As for which excursions are booked/available, all I can tell you at this point is that the spa reservations are booking up (i.e., you don't have your pick of times - some days/times are completely closed - BUMMER!). I've also heard from other posts that Palo is filling up...

I'm soooooo excited for our cruise - how many days now?:cool1:
