November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Okay, I finally got to read back through the thread and saw a DIS meet mentioned for 3:00 around the Goofy pool. Tha works for us!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. Celebrate the birth of our wonderful country and keep in mind those who protect it daily!

I was just tired of us being near the bottom of page 2! :teeth:

Am I the only one NOT on vacation this week? :confused3

Oooohhhhh. I had that opportunity about three weeks ago. Isn't it nice of our bosses to bless us with those little gifts?

Hi there. I posted way back on the first page, 8/6/04 it looks like, but have been hanging out ever since. Didn't want to get too attached until I knew for sure we were going. Just paid off the balance for the cruise and can't wait to go! Who's going - just me, my wife and our clothes (no kids...)

Michelle, would love for the girls to hook up. I will pm you my email address and some info if that is ok. I hope that your little man gets the potty training accomplished so he can enjoy the club (if he wants to).

We have been so busy here and I know my dh is really looking forward to the cruise as he has been working nonstop lately.

We were supposed to be on the August repo cruise and had to cancel when our 15 year old got accepted to Princeton for summer session and we used the money for that instead. Good for her, sad for me :teeth: But we didn't want to touch her college fund, so I am hoping that Disney will once again offer some wonderful itinerary like that so we can book again. The November cruise is our tradeoff. Cancel two weeks and balconies, get one week and portholes in return. And, a few Princeton sweatshirts. Plus the grandparents are coming.

We need rain here.

Hey Alex! Great to have another Georgian on the cruise. It will just be my wife and myself as well. We have no kids, and will be celebrating our 7th anniversary, so we are really looking forward to it. We did the 4 day for our anniversary last year.

Where are you actually located in the Atlanta area? We are down in Henry County in McDonough.

Is anybody worried at all about the weather when we are scheduled to go? I wouldn't be as concerned if we weren't bringing about 7 other families with us (based on our recommendation). I'm feeling a little pressure that the weather be nice. I've read that the weather is usually nice at the end of November, but the water is definitely cooler. Any thoughts or experiences?

Lisa,

We havent cruised in November before so I am also curious about the weather.

I know how stressed I get when I recommend something to someone and hope they like it as much as I do.

Your friends and family will be so happy you recommended DCL to them ;)

DW and I did the four day last year for our anniversary on 11/28/04. The weather was very good overall. It was mostly shorts and short-sleeves weather, but it could get a little chilly at night. Our CC day was a littel overcast, and the water was a little cool until you got used to it, but it was great weather for laying out on the beach. Not overly hot, but still enough sun to get a tan.

Also, since we will be going MUCH further south in the Caribbean on this cruise, you will be approaching closer to the equator and better odds for sun. Don't worry, they will enjoy the cruise! We never considered the weather an issue.

Hurricane season technically lasts through November 30th.....I'm not worried about bad weather, I just hope this onslaught of hurricanes leaves something in the Caribbean! ;) I think this time of year should be just fine!

I agree. Even with the scary hurricane season starting with a bang, I'm sure we'll have fine weather by the end of November. The waters cool quickly and that's one of the factors for creating the hurricanes in the first place. I also agree that I hope the Carribean is not hurt by the hurricane's this year. I think places like the Cayman Islands are still recovering.

Had to share my find with the ladies in the group . . . I just purchased almost $400 worth of formal wear for only $60. I figured if I bought my two formal dresses at the end of the season, I could get a better deal. Even dh was excited . . .LOL. Now I realize for you ladies from NY that $400 isn't much to blow on two dresses, but this will probably be the only time I wear them. I'd rather spend the $$ on a nice watch or more spa treatments . . . LOL. What's everyone else doing for the formal nights?

Have a super day!

I'm still here as well! It has been sooo HOT here! So, most of my time is shuttling the boys and in the pool!

As far as November weather, we went last November 6th for the 7 night Western and the weather was perfect. :sunny: I hope we are blessed again with it. Like Lisa, I have also convinced two other families to go with us and kind of feel the pressure that things be great.

DiaLady - Great find on the formal dresses! I need to go out looking. I have started making a pile for the cruise. I already bought 3 underwater disposable cameras (They were on sale and I had coupons.), and I bought the boys watershoes for the excursions. I bought a size bigger than they are now; their feet grow so quickly! I also found a new bathingsuit on clearance for myself - won't wear it till the cruise though! I'm thinking I better get out there and shop before all the summer items are gone. It's just hard to get out of the pool!

We're almost 4 months out now - the time is flying by!

It's hot in SE Virginia, too, Thumpery . . .LOL. I just returned from 10 days in NW PA and it was much cooler and less humid there. I was glad to get back to the hot & sticky :) We've been spending a lot more time in the pool as well. I even went underwater for the first time today. Our pool usually takes a few months to heat up to 80 degrees. It's up to 82 already with no end in sight . . .

Thanks for your list. I like the idea of buying the cameras ahead of time. We're still hoping airline prices drop a bit before we secure our tickets. I'm sure they'll have a sale that includes the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season soon.

Can't wait to hear more of what people are packing away for the trip :cool1:

We are packing our house!
We are building a new home, but sold our present home in only 10 days. So...out of here the end of July, and into an apartment. We are sceduled to take posession of our new home on November 18....then leave for WDW on the 24th. Please send pixie dust my way. I need all the magic I can get to pull this all off!

Well, let's see...

I just put in an order for a digital camera this week. I travel a great deal for work, so I was able to get a Canon 5 MP camera for no out of pocket cash by using AmEx points. That is DW's EARLY anniversary gift! I also went on the Disney Direct clearance sale on July 4th weekend and bought DW a Mickey swimsuit and a personalized Eeyore towel (he is her favorite). Spent a total or $30 on both, so it wasn't bad.

I will start stocking up on film, and putting it in the refrigerator, as I get coupons. Including the new digital, we will have 4 cameras onboard (I am a wannabe photographer and will carry three myself).

As for formal night, I was the thread about the tux rentals for $85, and I will probably do that for the cruise for myself. Don't know what DW is planning for her formal wear. I will probably start looking for some pirate stuff in the near future.

BTW, I am building a small version of the Disney Magic as a safety valve for all the rain we have had here in GA. We have had nearly 13 inches of rain in July alone.

Well, time to hush for a while! :)

Hi everyone,
I can't believe it is already time to start thinking of what to pack, and start storing up. It is tricky because you have to think in advance NOW while there is still swim suits and summer wear left...formal wear, tropical wear, pirate wear....there's just too much to think about. I think that I had better compose a list although I really think that we are going to go pretty basic. I did find 2 formal/semiformal dresses for me, just need to buy them I guess.

And yes, Jeanne be sure to pm me with your girls' information. I am excited that my kids will have other kids to look forward to meeting in person.
Who has late seating or early (main) seating? We have main seating, and am hoping some of us will have the same rotation!

Only about 4 months!

Thanks for the feedback on weather in November; I agree that we will all have fun despite the weather. We chose late seating this time due to the rush of getting ready from the excursions. We are hoping that the kids will make it!!! We are from San Diego so, hopefully, they will remain on our time and the late seating won't bother them.

I've been able to buy lots of bathing suits for the kids, but have stayed away from my clothes. Still hopeful that I can buy smaller sizes by then :rotfl:
I guess it would make more sense to buy things and take them in if I needed to.

Lisa
