November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Only 3 1/2 months to go . ..:thewave:

My dh just got back from the 2nd of 3 trips to the west coast this year. This is the year for travel for our family . . .LOL

Thanks for the reminder about the meet. Dh and I were talking about you all. He thought it was cool there were others who were as excited as we were about this trip. I was kinda suprised he was interested in attending the meet. Pretty cool! Here's hoping we all remember to make it . . . do you think we can get them to do a short toot on the horn to remind us that it is 3 PM?? . . .LOL That first few hours on the ship is so magical . . and goes quick!

For all you veterns . . . can you list one thing you'd be lost without that you are bringing on the ship . . .to help the first timers? I want to remember to bring my hairdrier Although the bathrooms have a hairdrier, it's the weak kneed type that you find in hotels. It doesn't have the blowdrying power I need.

Have a terrific weekend, everyone!

Thanks for the info on the meeting. I assume that is going to be on Sunday 11/27? Also, is there going to be a way for Disboard members to recognize each other. On our Carnival cruise, we all wore Mardi Gras beads. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Joanne :thewave:

There will be eight of us and we're so excited! There will be my dh, ds (15), dd (5), dd (2, 1st cruise for her), my mom and dad, and my niece (16, 1st cruise for her). We're flying in on Thanksgiving day and staying at WL. After the cruise, we'll be staying at the Polynesian for 4 nights.

Hope to see you there!

:Pinkbounc :cool1:  I paid off the cruise on Friday!! Just in time to make reservations at the 90 day mark ;) I can not wait to go on to the website and take care of Palo reservations, club reservations, and spa reservations.

I hope all are enjoying the summer. We just got back from camping in the adirondacks. Now, football season has started, so we will be quite busy 4x a week. The good news is football ends 1 week before the cruise!!!

momoftwodisneykids, the meet is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday (11/26).

Michelle2 and grlzmom, do you think it is a good time to start having the DD(11) start e-mailing each other? If so, PM me with the e-mail address and I will give it to my DD.

Thumpery, would your DS (9) be interested in e-mailing my DS (9) before the cruise? If so, PM me with the e-mail address.

Hello again everyone, and welcome momoftwodisneykids and Disneydarling. I am so excited the time is getting near, we are paying off our cruise today...we have the REAS and get to book on Friday (105 day mark)! I am really excited to make the online ressies too. I just knock on wood the system will work for me, I get so nervous about that...

TJGorman, I sent you a pm with my DD11 info. I think it is a great time for them to start. My DDs love things like that, and it makes the anticipation so much greater for them! I can't wait to meet everybody. And Theresa (I hope I spelled it right??) I am happy to hear your DH wants to go too. I think mine will as well! Do kids that want to go come too, or is it just for adults?

We are going to Disneyland in a month, so I am doubly excited to get to experience both coasts of Disney magic within a few months...and for the 50th too! Talk to you guys soon!

Hello all! My 13 year old son, Tony is wondering if he might be able to email some other kids his age who will be sailing with us. I think it would be nice for the kids to get to know each other a bit before our trip. If any kids his age would like to correspond with him, please email Tony at spirodragondude@yahoo.com. See you all soon!

Joanne

Joanne, my DS will be almost 13 when we cruise (will turn 13 25 days when we get off the ship)...does that count? He sees my daughters emailing other girls on the cruise, and he would like to as well.
The only thing is that he will be probably going to the 12 year old Oceaneer group...but who knows? We will see what fancies him. This is our first cruise, so we don't know what to expect. I will make sure he gets your DS email address though!

Just a shout out to everyone, We are almost doin' the double digit DANCE!!!!
:goodvibes :teeth: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1:

Hi Michelle. Tony has many friends between the ages of 11 and 14. He is really outgoing and gets along well with just about everyone (except sometimes mom--just wait, yours will be teenagers soon enough :earseek: ). I am sure he would enjoy emailing with your kids. Please have your kids drop him a note. Can't wait until 11/26!

Joanne :cat:

I can't believe we are almost at the 3-month mark. I'm making my final payment today. It seems so much to do before we leave. We are going on our summer vacation to beautiful Cape Cod in little over a week, then we'll turn our thoughts to getting ready for the cruise.

I have all my reservations made for pre/post cruise events. Still need to finalize all my on board stuff.

Are you all getting excited??? :Pinkbounc

Count me in for getting excited. I am waiting for the next milestone (90-day mark) to make the reservations for Palo, the lab and probably a massage.

I need to start compiling the folders for everyone. It will be full of different goodies for our group to enjoy!

After you pay, what info do you need to complete the 90 day reservations??

I also want to book some spa treatments, and Palo. What is the lab??

On the new Disney website, if you a Castaway Club member(must have sailed with Disney to be a Castaway Club member) at 90 days, you can use your Disney reservation number and make Palo reservations, if you have children, you can register them for the Oceaneer Club or Lab, you can make reservations for shore excursions and you can make reservations for the Spa. If you have never cruised with Disney, you can make these reservations at the 75 day mark. As I mentioned, you do need the Disney reservation number to get into the system. Your travel agent should have that number.

It's getting close alright...I just booked all my reservations online a few days ago. Palo's dinner and brunch, registered for kids clubs, grabbed some spa appointments, and grabbed some excursions...I still have to book the rest of our party's excursions at the 75 day mark (we have 2 cabins --one on the REAS and one not), and that totally sucks. I hope it works out!
But at least Palo and spa appointments I was able to take care of... :cheer2: It makes it seem like it is really close now!!

I booked a romantic pacakge for my Wife and I. I'm thinking dinner at Palo's on Thursday night before we hit Castaway Cay as nice way to wind down the cruise. I was thinking of having the Spa treatments on Sunday as a way to begin the relaxation.

Do you think these are good ideas?

Whooppeee! We bought our airline tickets today. Only $589 for 4 of us and a direct flight. Well it's not $400 like we spent last time, but it's not $1200 like I've been seeing for months. Our return flight was only $39/person!

ljt064, I like the idea of PALO's on Thursday night. I'm gonna run that by my dh and see he likes the idea? Guess it depends on rotation. As a castaway member can you request your dinner rotation?

Time is flying! Time to start saving the pennies for the tips and other expenses.

See ya'll soon!

Louie, I think that sounds like a great idea. I knew I just wanted to try and make our dinner on an at sea day. It was really hard scheduling it because I didn't want to miss any dinners with our kids, and DH didn't want to double dip or eat twice....

I ended up doing our brunch on Thursday a sea day, and dinner on Monday night. I also did our spa treatments on the first few sea days as well. I wanted to start it off nice for us too. :goodvibes

DiaLady - Congrats on getting such cheap tickets. More money to spend on Jewlery in St. M., or drinks on board. :rotfl2:

I booked the REAS package. FYI - in 2005 you still get the couple massage, but in 2006 you only get access to the Rain Forest Lounge. By booking REAS I was also able to gain access to book all my reservations, etc. I'm all set on dinner and Palo, couples massage, and a facial for my wife (am I a great husband or what). :rotfl:

Still unsure of excursion, most likey will do some sort of trip to a beach, hang with the kids and then try to see the islands. One of my goals in life in to plop by back side on a beach chair and enjoy the ocean, while sipping of frozen drinks. You have to set a goal for yourself.

I'd love to snorkel, but my DD is only 4. So we will have to do things within her age.

Anyway it's friday, and after 3 hours in the office, I'm off to play a round of golf...

Have an awesome weekend.... :earseek:

According to my DU reservation, we are 97 out. If you have a REAS, you can book 105 days out.
