November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

There was still lots of rooms in every categories as of last week. Looks like wont have a full ship his cruise.:confused3

Just got back from Sea World. They have some great Christmas decorations up already, although their official Christmas season starts on the 17th. We took several photos that i will post after i get them down loaded.:thumbsup2

It looks like right now there are only verandahs available on our cruise date. Still waiting to receive our IGT room number. Come on pixie dust!

We spent all morning at Magic Kingdom today. Seeing all the cruise line buses driving around makes us anxious for this cruise.
As of tonight we still dont have our room number. If we still dont have it by tomorrow afternoon we will call and ask about it again, before I go :crazy2:

Yesterday we spent the day at Sea World. (Sorry Mickey)

We havnt been there to check out Christmas decorations in 5 or 6 years so we were very impressed!!!
So I thought I would share a little with you in case anyone is going there before or ater this cruise.

Not sure if anyone here has been to Sea World but their Polar Bear and Beluga Whale exhibit is themed like the north pole and all enclosed. You have a motion and nonmotion ride first to set the theme, then you walk into a huge room that makes you feel like your standing under the sky at the North Pole.

Now for Christmas they have themed this for the movie The Polar Express. Out front they have a model of the train that makes noises like its running, blows steam from the smoke stack and the light turns on.

In the movie the kids go to the north Pole to meet Santa.
So when you enter the North pole room the first thing you see is a huge Christmas tree.
This only shows a small piece of the tree its so huge.

Then to the side of the tree is Santa and his sleigh with a 25 foot tall sack of Gifts just like in the movie. Little kids entering the room were so excited to see Santa and would yell out. Mommy theres Santa. One mom was so casual she replied Of course it is honey, after all this is the north Pole. You arrive in small groups so no kids had to wait in any lines to see Santa.

I thought this was also a great idea. They had at least 3 of these large snow globes around the park. At certain times an employee would be there to help you slip inside from the back. If you wanted you could throw the snow up in the air while someone took your photo or they would take it for you.
Each globe had a different background.

One of the sleighs. This is my DH, Greg.

The stores all had huge displays as well.

This carriage is back by the Clydsdales barn. Sadly they dont have the horses anymore.

We actually got to watch people feed the dolphins this trip. We usually miss that. Plus we saw them feed the Beluga whales.

This is a rather large snowman near the front of the park.

In the background is another large Christmas tree. You can tell by my hair its a very windy day!!

Ok thats all for now. I don't want mickey to be mad at me. But if anyone is thinking about going there as part of their vacation I would highly recommend it. They have improved so much of the park thats its well worth the trip, especially at Christmas time.

Now I am excited to see the atrium decorated on the ship.
I am hoping to do the gingerbread house decorating. If anyone is interested and its not in the first Navigator that in your room, I would suggest to ask at Guest Servies if you can sign up ealry for it because it fills up super fast.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Time is really something...

Back in May 2011, I posted for the very first time on these boards on this very thread to let everyone know we were taking this trip. I was asking for a time machine so we could go on our trip already.

This is my 100th post and we are two weeks away from sailing away. It's been a while.

That is awesome, but we are less than two weeks away. I will be stepping into the MDR for Formal Night two weeks from now.

I almost took the Maiden Voyage of the Fantasy, but ended up going to Disney to instead.

We are getting so close. I leave in 9 days(only seven work days). Janice only has 6 days till she starts her 14 days on the Fantasy.

We are so close to being packed(going away this weekend).

See you all soon.

Remember, post as soon as you get your room assignment, which is hopefully anyday now, You can PM if you want.

Room assignments for *GT rates should be out Tuesday afternoon.

Can't believe that we only have two weeks before we get onto the ship. Time has gone by so fast. I can't wait to meet you guys and have a great time. It is going to be a blast. Hopefully we can make great friendships and do this all again in the future. pirate:

I'm getting so very excited! My daughter works on the Fantasy and has been away from her UK home now for almost six months! It has been her first contract with DCL and she will be on her last week with The Fantasy, on 24th Nov & returning with me, to start her long vacation! (She returns to DCL in February) So, apart from this cruise getting me so excited, I can't tell anyone how very much I'm looking forward to seeing my little girl again & bringing her home for Christmas! Woop!(Mega DOUBLE Woop!):yay:

That is awesome. Being that she is renewing her contract in February, I guess she is enjoying it.

My thanks to you. My lass has found the going hard & didn't enjoy encountering Hurricane Sandy! It caused a bit of panic for us all back home, I can tell you! I can't wait to see her! Xx

hahaha - I think I left out a few words . . . can't you read minds? :rotfl2:

As a bartender, I'm guessing her tips are always in cash - so she might not know. A lot of people like to bring gifts to tip on top of the the money that you give to the main 4 postions (server, assitant server, head server & room host). There is always an argument if the like getting gifts or if they just want more money, or if there is something special that a lot of the cast members like.

I think she is asking, what has her favorite gift been, if she has gotten any, from cruisers.

I could be wrong though.
