November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

We've always dined at tables with at least 8 people. It lets us share our day, as well as hearing what others have been up to. You can learn about what other people are really enjoying about the cruise, and find about activities you might not have known about. We have always been lucky and had great table mates. On our last Disney cruise, we were paired with another family that had a daughter the same age as ours, and they formed an immediate friendship that lasted throughout the whole cruise. They asked to hang out at the pool together, and played together in the kids club.
You also find some interesting people when you're at a larger table. One year we sat with someone I swore was Jackie Chan. Many years ago, I kept getting asked if I was Tiger Woods (personally I don't see the resemblance - We're not even the same flesh tone...). Was good for a laugh.

Hello from Mebane NC ..... We def should get together before the cruise!!! Welcome Aboard!!! :thumbsup2

Sounds good to me. We will be in Burlington on March 23 - 25 at the Fairchild Community Center for a flyball tournament.

On our last 7 night cruisethere was a vote and people wanted to split the FE group up (I'm thinking into staterooms of 15?) - people that wanted to exchange with all just signed up for more than one group (just another option). :confused3

Have I cruised with you before? :surfweb: Your name seems to be jumping out at me . . . We have done

Wonder (4 night) 10.2004; (3 night) 12.6.2007;
Magic (7 night) 11.11.2006 (w); (7 night) 10.25.2006 (w);10.30.2010 (w);
Dream (4 night) 9.4.2011; (3 night) 9.11.2011;

I bet it was on a Double Dip!!! :cool2:

If anyone wants to hook to me on Facebook just send me request and with request say part of Dis group!!!! :thumbsup2

Now that we have found out what FE is we want in on this, sounds like so much fun.

We are from St Albert, Alberta, Canada - Steve, DW Karen & DS Matthew (13). Our stateroom is 7502.

Karen & I are formally from Prince Edward Island, it would be nice to meet some Maritimers.

We can sure use the help of those who have done this lots. We are going to fly in to MCO on Thursday evening and more than likely stay in the Port Canaveral / Cocoa Beach area.

We have been scouring the location for quality and reasonably priced accommodations. We are part of a group that has senior citizens with mobility issues plus 4 children between the ages of 13 – 10 who will need to burn off the excitement energy. We sure could use accommodation advice, first hand recommendations would be welcomed! Thanks in advance

I am assuming Black Friday is the day before our cruise. We have never experienced Black Friday but believe it’s the same as Boxing Day in Canada, crazy crowds + crazy prices = crazy lines! We are staying away from the malls but hope to get to Downtown Disney, will we find Black Friday type deals there?

Steve, welcome fellow Canucks!
Here's what we do: We drive to Detroit (flights considerably cheaper than out of Toronto) on Thurs after work and get a Park & Fly hotel. When you factor in the cost of a week's parking in a long term lot, the hotel room is only about $30.

We fly out Fri morning (Usually around 10am), and when we get to Orlando, we have a rental car from Hertz ready (register online before April and you get free membership in their gold program so you skip the lines). We drive to Port Canaveral and stay at the Radisson at the Port. They have an awesome pool but the rooms are just ok. Still for one night we feel the pool more than makes up for it. Note, this is a two floor hotel without elevators. Plus for you if you get a main floor room is you can park extremely close to your room. But honestly you may want to look at one of the hotels with suites for bigger rooms based on your group.

At the end of the cruise, we use the on board airline check-in. The day before the ship gets to Port Canaveral you get your boarding pass delivered to your room, and when your luggage is picked up that night, you don't have to do anything with it until you arrive at your destination airport. Disney takes care of delivering it to the airline and gets it checked in for you. We take the DCL bus to Orlando airport, then just go right to security and then to your gate. Note that this is not available on all airlines.

We have never been to a Black Friday sale either, but we work with a lot Americans and from their descriptions, it's a lot crazier than Boxing Day. We have yet to decide if we'll stop in Orlando on the way to the port.

Well, with the excitement of watching the Fantasy arrive in NY, I couldn't take it any longer - I told the girls we were going. They weRE both so excited. So, I guess there is no turning back now. There will be 4 of us Me (40), Mom (don't ask), Erin (11) and Lynn (6) in Room 7064. Can't wait to meet you all. If anyone has a child around the girls' ages that might like to "meet" online before the cruise, let me know. We did this before our last cruise and the girls still talk to their cruise friends (nice to have someone to hang out right from the start).:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hi! Our son Matthew will be turning 13 a few days before we set sail. He tells me that he would like to make some friends prior to the cruise as well. How do we facilitate that?

Hi there,
That is wonderful that the boys are close in age and would be great if they could know each other before we go. Do you have a facebook page or an email address that we can have them chat and then we can chat ourselves. It is always nice to meet new people. Talk with you soon. :)

We were actually watching it on TV - wish we had been there. We will be neighbors on the cruise. Does your daughter have an email address? That would be the best way to get them started talking (they can then skype as it gets closer). How close will your daughter be to 11? Erin will be in the Edge this time rather than the club/lab. If you want to PM, an email address, we can get them talking.
