So I need some suggestions for eating on Thanksgiving day... We will be at Animal Kingdom that day w/no park hoppers & paying oop(our dinning plan doesn't start till fri)..So should we eat somewhere in AK, DTD, or off-site?:crazy2:

A good place to get traditional thanksgiving food is Cracker Barrel. If you have a car to go off property. :drive:

I wouldn't eat at any of those for Thanksgiving except Raglan Road, since it seems to have more "comfort food" than the others. Then again I'd probably be perfectly happy eating a pizza if it meant I was at WDW. My personal choice would be Liberty Tree Tavern butttttttttt no Hoppers.

What about a resort? That opens a world of possibilities. If you do AK and eat a CS meal for lunch (my choice would be Flame Tree BBQ) then you can have an ADR at say Ohana's or Cape May Cafe or the like. If that doesn't appeal, we enjoy Wolfgang Puck's full restaurant or Raglan Road. I've heard Fulton's is good, but have never eaten there.

ETA: wow! love the link for last year's Thanksgiving places! This is such an awesome thread...there is always an answer to every question!:cool1:

has anyone ver done the ddp? what do you usually end up spending oop on tax and tips? trying to get a rough budget idea.

the reg dining plan or the DxDP? we have done the reg. On the reg one, we spent about $20 per meal on taxes, tips(on a 6 day trip it was $120) this time with the DxDP, we will spend avout $500ish:scared: BUT with having free dining, and just paying the upgrade ($500) it would be about $1000 for 4 ppl to eat 3x per day for 8 days....thats only $31.25 a day... you cant beat that!!!! and if you figure out the whole trip(7 nights RGR, 8 day tix, DxDP for 2 adults and 2 kids) its only $126.09 per person to eat 3 meals, go to the park and sleep in DISNEY!!!:cool1:

Ok, everyone talking about changing ADRs has gotten me debating mine. We've done the Fantasmic package twice - 1 MM & 1 H&V...but I would really rather try a new place - 50's PT or SciFi...any suggestions? 6 & 8 yr DD

we have PH & will be @ WDW 11/24 - 12/2 so I'm hoping the crowd levels won't be too bad and since we've been twice I don't feel like I would have to wait in line to get the best view :confused3

Love Kona breakfast. Perfect meal to split if not on dining plan.

So I did it! I've been humming and haaing (obviously not correct spelling!) about changing 1900 PF breakfast to Kona and I did it. We will be OOP on this meal so it just makes sense. I'm actually looking forward to trying the Tonga toast and Kona coffee!!

Just wondering how people managed before DIS boards! :rotfl:

Tax is included in the dining plan. We spend approximately $200 on tips for 8-9 table service meals.

I would go for the 50s PTC. I think it would be a great restaurant for your daughters.

I like 50's and Sci-Fi! 50's is more of a home made, moms kind of cooking (meatloaf, fried chicken type place)you get to eat in 50's style kitchens; Sci-Fi is a burger and shake place BUT you get to eat in cars and watch cheesy scary (not really-the ones from the 50's were just goofy) movies and cartoons and commercials!!! Obviously both of these places have other choices but you get the idea;) I cant choose as we are doing both :thumbsup2 LOL because I love both! BUT if I had to pick one, Id pick Sci-Fi!

I love the sausage they have at both Kona and Ohana. We always get the big kahuna ( i think that is what it is called) It has super yummy macademia pancakes with pineapple sauce. Is it November yet?
