If you are in the area anyway, you could try to get in earlier than your ADR time. I saw people do this at LTT and Chefs de France successfully. (I happen to have been seated near the podium for check in) It's worth a try.
We probably will be since we reserved one day for World Showcase and another for Futureworld. So this is worth a shot, you're absolutely right. Genius idea! :thumbsup2

Hi, All!
Wanted to join in...We're booked at Pop from Nov. 28-Dec. 8th. We upgraded from free quick service dining to the regular dining plan and are looking forward to yummy Disney food:)

Our cast includes Mom (me) Dad, DS12 and DD9

We're going to MVMCP onThursday, Nov. 29th.

Boy, I have a lot of reading to catch up on.:coffee:
 
Speaking of BOG.....What is everyone game plan if you have a few different spots BOG could fit into?

I have four possible dates I can do BOG. I'll shoot for my first choice and go on down the list if it is not available. I have them listed and ready to go when I call. ;)

ETA: And I'll start trying to call a minute or two before 7 and keep calling. That's all you can do, right? Plus, I'll have my laptop open and on the Disney website in case online ressies are available. That's actually what I'm hoping for!

DH and I will be at POP 11/28 through 12/6. Maybe we'll see you there! Glad you got FD. We also upgraded to regular. Hope you already have your ADRs since they're going to be hard to come by after all the dust settles from FD!

Yes, ADR's are all booked. Booked them at 180 days out while hoping for free dining to come along.;) Am hoping to still get one at Be Our Guest, though if it opens up.

Has anyone ever done a split stay? How does that work? We are going to be there from 11/7-11/13. According to my TA there should be free dining starting on 7/9. Crunching numbers, we are possibly going to stay at a value from 11-7 to 11-9, and then POFQ from 11-9 to 11-13.

This way I dont have to amend any of my dining reservations.

I originally looked at chaning our flights/trip to 11/9 to 11/16, however, it bumps our airfare up more than saving anything with the free dining.

Basically you would book a room only reservation for 2 nights and pay for dining for those days. Then you'd book ANOTHER reservation for the free dining and buy the tickets you need for that with this package. You can pick up your tickets up to 3 days early, so you could check-in for your room only, go get your tickets, and then enjoy 2 days of them before you check-in/out for your free dining portion. They will try to keep you in the same room, but not guarantees.

That's my plan too!!! 11/6-11/9 AOA, 11/9-11/17 WL with FD :hourglass can't wait for FD to make it all official! and get some $ back!!!
 
That just totally made my day!!

another question.. normally we would get our tickets on our key to the world card. in this case, would we get them from the ticket center since we are picking them up early?

(and here I thought I knew what I was doing with this trip :rotfl2:)

Honestly I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they won't be on the card. Because you'll need to go to a Guest Relations office to pick them up early (at least that's how it was before, someone feel free to chime in) and that's in DTD and/or at one of the parks. They were actually able to let us pick up our tickets early right at the Pop Century last year. Worked smooth as can be. All the resort computer system problems from 2010 paid off in a very smooth process in 2011.
