I need some help!!! My DH's vacation dates have been changed and I need to rethink my dates. I am so mad. He had already recieved the ok in May for the dates he had asked off 11-14 to 11-21. Now he was told by his supervisior that he will need to change his dates because he (the supervisior) has requested the same days off for a hunting trip and will not be able to cover DH sales' route. So now DH has to change his vacation days. Our orginal dates were Wed. 11/14 to Saturday 11/24 (10 nights). Now I have to redo all the planning. He was told that he could have the week after Thanksgiving off. We really like to stay atleast 8 nights durng our trip. So now I am looking at 2 different stays. Here is what I am looking at; Arriving on Thanksgiving day 11/22 staying at Pop for 2 nights (would love to get LM @ AOA but no rooms). Then checking into CSR for 7 nights 11/24-12/1 with free dining hopefully. I am trying to figure out the cheapest way to still be able to do everything we want as far as ADRs, as our meals are my DH favorite part of the trip. I have looked at AP and the TIW card vs getting the dining plan for the 2 days which means I will also have to purchase park tickets because you can not add dining without them. I would say to just pay OOP but we have Ohana scheduled for Thanksgiving dinner and Chef Mickey's for the next night and they will cost alot OOP and I can't seem to get either for the next week. Any thoughts on my best options?

Well I would just pay oop for those 2 meals. I wouldnt change them(they are hard to get) Maybe get the DP for the stay at CSR and buy tix. FDing should be available for the general public soon. I think that if you get FDing, it will be cheaper then doing TiW(in my opinion)

I got ALLL the love...I'm listed twice. We were originally arriving on the 25th but changed to the 28th. :hippie:

Oh and we are staying in a LM room at AoA!!! Eeek!!

I will fix it :thumbsup2

Hi everyone, we're going in November also. :cool1: November 24 - December 1st, AoA unless some great discounts get announced and maybe we'll consider an upgrade. :thumbsup2

Right now we're planning on MVMCP on November 27th. :santa: We've never gone this time of the year before so it will be our first time at the party and seeing the Christmas decorations.

What is the Candlelight Processional? Is there an extra cost?

We can't wait!!!

The Candlelight processional is a telling of the Christmas story narrated by a famous person with a chorus and orchestra
http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/candlelight_processional.htm We are going on the 28th and seeing Neil Patrick Harris! We are eating at the Garden Grill. It is 2 TS credits OR you can pay out of pocket. You can also stand in line to see it. I have never been and soooo looking forward to it
Reservations are HIGHLY recommended. People stand in line for hours!

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/candlelight-dinners/
you choose a date, show time and they give you the available places to eat

and :welcome: I will add you!

I booked the 5pm CP on 11/29, also with Neil Patrick Harris!:santa:

I did lunch at Nine Dragons, we already had an adr for dinner there that evening so I just picked the same restaurant. Ugh, maybe I should switch that, I wish the listed the price for each location. :confused3

Honestly, I would go there just to see the inside of the restaurant and to have the pictures. But I was truly excited when they announced the menu. This stuff sounds great: mussels steamed in white wine, potato leek soup, the pan seared salmon and especially the shrimp & scallops in puff pastry with lobster sauce. I am excited!:yay:

So yeah, I really need this place to be open in early Nov., only another month and 3 days to find out....:rolleyes1

Same here, on all the above. Some of the menu items sound great! But I'll need it to be open that first week of November to try it!

Anybody ever done the wishes dessert party?? Is it worth the extra $$$?

I have to preface this by saying I haven't heard much negative about it from others.
But, that said, ours last spring was a nightmare: left waiting outside long past what was necessary (everyone was there, food was out and there were assigned tables), inattentive CMs "monitoring" things, adults crowding the railing for Wishes when there was great viewing from their tables (one couple even moved their table to the railing!) and no CM intervention there, adults standing up at the railing and leaving little kids unable to see behind them, shooting photos in front of other guests' faces and blocking their view (especially Tink's flight) and, finally, a collapse of the glass guard over the dessert buffet halfway in that ruined half of the desserts offered, and it was not replaced, nor did we hear any apologies, for any of it.
I hope this was a one-off, but our experience was so terrible, I'm not sure I'd do it again for free...

So where did this August 4th date come from it's posted on wdwinfo isn't it?

It IS on wdwinfo. The problem is that's the only place it's been posted, and they didn't even hint at a source for info that, apparently, no one else has. That's not to say I don't consider them reasonably reliable. It's just that it's so odd to have much-desired date info when there is no source, no one else to confirm and the official word (before and after that post) is different...

The August 4th ADR for BOG is just a date. A happy date. :goodvibes Something to focus on. We will know soon enough if it is right. And if not...... We wait alittle longer. At least we are in good company. :grouphug:

wow i didnt know that. any idea where i would call i booked thru a travel agent. should i ask her or call a certain number?

we are at aoa lm from nov 4-11 maybe we will see u there :)

Unfortunately, I think your dates are blacked out in the current PIN offer. The offer is good through 11/1 and then picks back up again on 11/9-11/15. A general public offer will likely have the same dates :sad1:. Is there any way you can change your dates a bit? If you arrive on 11/1, you'd still be able to get FD for your entire stay. If you don't have a PIN code, you might want to keep your original dates and wait and see if a general public offer comes out, and then change them then if you want to. If you'd like to check and see if you have a PIN code, you can call on your own: (407) 939-7675 When the options come up, say "resort reservation" and then say "ask a question". It will have you input a whole bunch of information like your address-- don't give your conformation #, though, since you booked through a TA. When you finally get to talk to a person, ask them if you have any PIN codes associated with your name (or the names of anyone you're traveling with). If there is one, make sure to write the number down, then email that number to your travel agent so you can get the discount. Remember, you will have to change your dates to take advantage of the current PIN offer that's out. Good luck! --Katie

I don't like when people are disrespectful of others.:sad2: I've been doing some reading about the dessert party and from what I gather, everyone is supposed to stand at the railing. Even the WDW website says that it is "standing room only". I'm guessing the assigned tables is just for the eating part of the party. Granted, adults should behave better and let kids and for that matter shorter adults in front of them.

I would be pretty annoyed about the table breaking and ruining desserts without any apology. Hopefully, that was just a one-off but I'm sorry you had to be there for it.

That sounds horrible!:scared1: I think we are gonna skip it.. don't think I wanna spend that much money on dessert & then still have to fight for a viewing spot!

so much for disney magic. there is no way we can change our dates :sad2:

:dance3: We did a little swap-a-roo!!!

We are now staying 2 nights at Animal Kingdom Villas and then moving to Coronado Springs for 7 nights!! *IF* we can score FD at AoA LM room that we already have booked, we'll stay there instead of CSR, but I don't forsee that happening.....

Staying at AKV is my mom's dream, so I'm surprising her! She won't know til we pull up!

Again, this is really the only negative thing I've heard about it, but it did happen to happen to me... My expectations were high because of all the positive comments, and we'd only planned two "special" events for the trip, so this was a real disappointment. But other than not being able to see very well, my son didn't mind any of it. I would hope this was an aberration...

I'm not sure I read anything about SRO, but I know there weren't more than a dozen or so tables/parties that night. There was a ton of space in the area, which I wouldn't have thought would even suggest SRO. And, honestly, as few people as were there, if a few people had just stayed in their seats, all the kids could have seen fine, as could have most or all of the adults. Even with the view being blocked and my child trying to peek through the adults at the railing, I stayed in my (front row) seat so I didn't block the view of people behind me...
But then I've seen numerous flame wars erupt over whether parents should expect other adults to accommodate kids at such things. I both think the adults should, as a parent, and try to myself as an adult. (Very little is more irritating to me than an adult at a parade who scoops up all the candy thrown from the floats while the kids beside and behind them desperately try to get a few pieces, but I've seen it not infrequently...) The parameters of polite human behavior very so much from person to person, I find myself unable to understand people sometimes...
