just checked email and there was one from Disney Destinations...I got so excited thinking it was FD...nope, end of summer savings. Up to 30% off 8/15 - 9/29...
DANG! This could be a good thing right? At least I know they have the right email address for us..

I got the same email and I got so excited when I saw Disney Destinations...then I read it. So far I got a pin for free dining April-June and now this discount for August to September. Its like they know I want free dining for November so they send me everything but that.

The only thing I see is that your CRT ressie is during MVMCP. Could you switch that one to lunch or even just make the dinner a little earlier? That way, you won't have to miss out on valuable party time :banana:

When I was originally making ADR's I wasn't planning on making that day a MK day, I was going to be at AK all day and I made CRT later so that we would have time to go from AK, back to resort and then MK. Now that I switched it to a MK day, I wasn't able to get an earlier ADR for CRT. Soooo now I just check every other day or so for an opening to try to make it earlier. Then again, there's 2 parades, if I can get my DD3.5 to take a later nap and then head to the party, go to dinner and then we would be able to stay up/out later... it's all a toss-up...:confused3

I don't I've ever seen a thread move this fast. It certainly gives me something to do while waiting for my pilots to get back. I think I tried to join the FB goup. Guess I'll find out in the morning if I did it right. :goodvibes

I'm now staying in all star movies and hoping for a LM room to open up on 11/29. How can it be completely booked in june? :confused3 I know its popular right now but really. Guess i'll have to hope someone cancels at the 45 mark, not that that's going to stop me from checking every day til then.;)

Hi y'all! Hope everyone is having fun with their Disney planning. This board had been moving too fast for me to keep up!!

I wanted to share something sweet my DH did yesterday. He is not into the Disney planning thing, and probably wouldn't even go to Disney if it weren't for me and the kids, but yesterday he called to let me know about the Disney Dining Blog with the BOG details. He didn't want me to miss it.

That is precious!

QUESTION: Has anyone ever gone up in the balloon at DTD. That's one other "first" that we're thinking of doing ths time. Fun? Worth it?

We are doing it for the first time this trip. I am really excited.[/QUOTE]

We have!!! I loved it,..my oldest kid totally hated it...he kinda has a fear of heights and I totally didn't even think of it till we got on and the guy said 400',..my poor ds was white as a sheet by the time we got off!! And what didn't help was when you get all the way up, they stay there for a while and give you an opportunity to walk around the whole thing and take pics--well,, this one older man came over to our side moving pretty fast and he was really heavy and so the side we were on dipped and I though ds was gonna pass out. Then the man was put out, because we weren't getting out of his way quick enough. I personally loved it and would do it again..but if someone has a fear of heights, or that motion being way up there I wouldn't do it.
It's kind of hard to know when it's gonna be available...that was our 2nd or 3rd time to go there and finally it was running!! And as a side note-my same son parasailed about that high at the Contemporary and was fine with it!!! I think it was the feeling of falling off the hot air balloon...just FYI if you have an 'iffy' person in the group.
BYC~ we almost the same dates and I think our parks are overlapping a few days!

How adorable is that?! You've got a good man there!

AWWWW that is so sweet. My DH isn't the biggest Disney fan either, but when he hears stuff he does tell me...which makes me happy.

Another good man! True love right there!:goodvibes

FYI, for us going late in the month - Test Track is scheduled to reopen 11/30, supposed to be pretty cool. For those earlier in the month - here's :wizard: for early soft opening!!!

Would love a soft opening!

You know what? Now that I think of it, the last couple times I went on a super high ferris wheel, it kind of freaked me out! I may have to rethink this! but just the thought of seeing Disney from up high like that makes me want to do it.

But I must say this, your story about your son had me :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: how old was he at the time? Did he parasail on the SAME trip?! :rotfl:

-------------------------------------
Haven't posted our plan/schedule yet, and would love to know what you all think:

Thursday 11/15- arrive around 1pm, resort time, Downtown Disney, CS dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express

Friday 11/16- MK, CS lunch at Columbia Harbour House or Be Our Guest, dinner at 4:45 at Crystal palace (would love to change to Be Our Guest)' MVMCP

Saturday 11/17- AK, CS lunch at Flame Tree BBQ, dinner at 4:45 at Yak &Yeti (AK is only open til 5pn on this day, so after dinner we planto go look at other resorts, etc)

Sunday 11/18- Epcot, CS lunch for DH and I at Tangierine Cafe ( kids are planning bratwurst from Germany's Sommerfest cuz they're too silly to appreciate Tangierine Cafe.....sigh), dinner at 4:45 at Tutto Italia

Monday 11/19- DHS, CS lunch at Starring Rolls, dinner at 5pm at Cape May, Osbourne lights

Tuesday 11/20- MK, lunch at Cosmic Ray's (or maybe BOG!), dinner at 6pm at Crystal Palace (or change to BOG), Dessert Party

Wednesday 11/21- DHS, CS lunch at Pizza Planet (ODS has wanted to eat here for YEARS, so we're breaking down and doing it), dinner at 5:30 at Yachtsman Steakhouse, back for Osbourne Lights again

Thursday, 11/22, Thanksgiving- rest day, Downtown Disney, lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express, riding the big balloon (just thinking now, doe this happen during the day or only at night??), dinner at 5pm at 'Ohana

Friday, 11/23, Epcot, lunch at 11:45 at Le Cellier Candlelight Processional Package, seeing show at 5pm, dinner...DH and I like Tangierine Cafe SO much that we'll probably eat there again. Kids, probably Sommerfest again or maybe Japanese, see Illuminations from the CLP designated spot

Saturday, 11/24, late breakfast at 11am at Kona and then begin the sad, sad trip home :sad1:.....and start dreaming of our NEXT WDW vacation! :goodvibes

Disclaimer: we do NOT plan on Crystal Palace twice for dinner. Really hoping to get Be Our Guest for one of those. If not, would like to change one of those to breakfast at Crystal Palace. Hoping for the Dessert Party on Tuesday 11/22. Already had our ADRs all booked when we decided to do dessert party. I know dessert party wouldn't be wise after a 6pm dinner at CP....just didn't want to start moving things around until we're sure about Be Or Guest. We'll see...

Any glaring problems????:confused3

But heres hoping for BOG. :wizard:

I completely forgot about that!! :woohoo:

But... what is earliest the check in you have been granted. Does everyone go by 3:00? Or is their and inside secret I can be made aware of?

Thanks guys!!

We've rarely been able to check in super early. Last April we got in at 11:00 which was nice and last year we got into WL upon arrival at around 9:30! But it's so convenient to just leave your carry on bags at bell services and hit the parks, it doesn't really matter if you can get into your room or not. :goodvibes

Remember if you want to be added to facebook groups to send PMs...it really adds too many posts on this to have everyone asking for it here....and many of us can't keep up as it is.;)

Has anyone done any tours ....like keys to the Kingdom. I'm debating it, but I don't know if i can work it in and if I can...do I really want to spend that much money. I have a possible other trip this fall....I think it will depend on if I do that one or not.
I'm not touching my ADRs for now. If BOG opens for our trip...that will be added if possible. Even if I have to pay out of pocket.

DH and I did the KTTK tour two years ago and loved it. We rode Jungle Cruise and HM. It was the first time we ate at Columbia Harbour House and we love that as well. We now go there every visit!

That is soooo cool!!:woohoo: Do you wear yours to WDW? Have you met many people that way? I'm thinking of doing it but I was just curious as to what kind of response you have received?:)

I wore LGMH this past April and had no results. But I'll still wear mine this time. It doesn't hurt and I may meet a new friend!;)

I'm doing the same thing! We're staying at Pop and hoping for LM room for the 28th! My original dates (11/7-11/14) I had LM room at AoA, but when I switched, I lost AoA.:sad1: But at least if I don't get in there, I can walk across the bridge to check it out. Not the same as staying there, but better than nothing. You could take a bus there and check it out too if nothing happens for you. Good luck and pixie dust that you get what you want!pixiedust:

Has anyone on here done a split stay? If so, I was wondering how that works with FD. I don't have FD YET, but am really hoping for it. I was thinking I could stay at Pop for a couple of nights and then AoA for the rest. Any advise along those lines? TIA:flower3:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!:dance3:

I have all of my ressies in place beautifully including a 5pm Cinderella's Royal Table on a MVMCP night and then yesterday I see a note that Ariel is only at breakfast?! If anyone can back this info up I'd really appreciate it... the CM I spoke with read the same info I did online which, yes, states that Ariel is a Breakfast only character at CRT :headache:

I was really looking forward to that dinner time but DD1 is an absolute Ariel fan and I could not do that to her :( I went ahead and reserved a breakfast immediately following our BBB appt which will now cut into park time :headache: But she will be all dressed as Ariel from the appt so it will still work nicely... it's just going to be a super long day in the park. My back up is I think a dinner at the GF Cafe... but 5pm seems to be best time and now that will cut into MVMCP time... bother!!! What to do?!

my dh dd9 and myself are going to wdw from Nov 4-11 staying at aoa. i would love to join this forum and get to know others who have been before and will be going again. I'm lots of fun i promise

Okay I was thinking about it all day. I wasn't planning on any DTD time, but...

If I leave the GF at noon will I have enough time to go to DTD and be back at Chef Mickey's by 545. I have no idea truly how long travel time from place to place will be, is it doable? We would probably only go to the big Disney store and the scrapbook store and walk around a bit. What do you think?

It is possible, but keep in mind that the buses for DTD are notriously slow. Allow at least an hour for travel time each way. I have waited more than 40-60 minutes for a bus from DTD on more than 1 occasion and going to DTD isn't always fast either. Buses are supposed to come every 20 minutes, but DTD doesn't seem to stick to that rule as much. That is the one place I suggest driving to if you have a car available.

My DH and I did keys to the kingdom once on one of our adults only trips. We enjoyed it very much. You can't go unless you're 16, they don't want to spoil the magic for anyone younger. We definitely rode HM too. And our lunch was also at Harbour House.

There is only a small portion of rooms there that are standard, and since many don't want or need the larger suites, it is booking the standards fairly fast. I like many others, want to try out the new resort while it's new, but there is no way I would pay the suite price.

Thanks. I hope I can work it in. I have family staying with me for part of the time, so it would work out well where I could go by myself and DD could hang with the family. I just have to see how finances are then and if I can then get in on the desired days.

I have, and will be again this year. Never with free dining though. To get free dining for both stays you have to have at least 3 nights stay and buy 2 days tickets for each portion. You can save the 2nd set of tickets for future use if you want. I am staying at DVC the first portion, so I can add dining (not free of course) with out buying a ticket. Then my 2nd half is with free dining and tickets. I will be picking my ticket up 3 days early at Guest services at the parks so I can still tour the parks before my package actually starts.

The characters change and there is no guarantee of who will be there. That being said, we went to CRT in April of 2011 and Ariel was there for dinner.

This is absolutely true. She was there both times we ate dinner last December. And I have NEVER seen them guarantee a character there at ANY meal except having Cindy in the lobby. I can't see them changing that to take away that flexibility any time soon.

I thought I recalled that being the case which is why I asked... Why on earth would they list the princesses on the reservation page almost as to guarantee them at the different meals then :confused3 this will be our 3rd trip with CRT but we have always done the breakfast. I was under the impression it is always a toss up but that little list has me fretting... I just want to make it the best for our little princess:princess:

Thanks for your input!

As of right now we are traveling November 17th-November 22nd BUT we might move our dates up in order to take advantage of free dining if and when it comes out!! FINGERS CROSSED!!! Can you please add me to the group? Thanks!!! SUPER EXCITED AND CAN'T WAIT!! 141 DAYS!!!
