What are your Disney pet peeves?

My pet peeve, and I’m sure I’ll get some hate for it: I do not like posing on ride photos. Just show me everyone’s bored/scared/happy/grumpy/thrilled face in the moment, please and thank you.
Some of my friends love to do poses but they are not personally my thing. One of my favorite on ride pics is actually from our group of DISers back in 2022 on Dinosaur as we're all in the moment candid with exception to one who knew and remembered where the camera was so he was looking at it. We still get a laugh out of that photo.

I think poses are no biggie when it's just you and your group but I have always felt bad when someone posts about their Splash Mountain (now Tiana's) on ride photo is pointless because arms were raised up, poses were done, etc and people's faces were now obscured.

Reading this entire thread in one go was quite the ride this morning.

I swear I’m a fun person otherwise.
Same!! But my pack now insists on it every time and I dont partake.

VGF has always been willing to loan me a cart in one way or another... That's one of the things I love most about that whole endeavor... a small, quiet porte cochere... load everything up and bring it to the room myself...

It's not about the tip, I just prefer to pack and unpack at my own pace and without the pressure of another person...

Also, it is usually quicker as well instead of waiting for Bell Service to deliver your bags or groceries.

New one: people in a position of “authority” (if you can even call it that) who get on way too much of a power trip.

Wow, people are even "peeving" on the friendly Disney cast members that often make our trip so special! I love when they say 'Welcome Home' and 'Friend' - I know I'm at Disney!! Welcome Home is a long-time DVC thing that we love. And someone calling me friend? Well, there are a million and 1 worse things I could be called! I guess there can be a negative side to most anything!

Me too. I don't mind "friend" in the least. I love "welcome home." Especially that first one when I first roll in from the airport. It truly makes me feel like part of a community.

My pet peeve is people who let their kids act like hooligans in the queues. Within reason, of course. I get it, DS7 has A LOT of energy. Kids need to get the wiggles out. I am talking about the kids who are running back and forth along the queue in between groups and the teenager in the Soarin' queue who was jumping on the walls like he was doing parkour. The kid almost ran into us several times. No amount of pointed glaring at the parents elicited a response of any kind.

Those are cool.
I hate that DVC site doesn’t open to my dashboard and that it is like 5th selection down on the left hand menu.

On that note, every time I sign into any Disney account I get the screen that says "good news! You already have an account!" Uh, yeah, I do, thanks. It's not a pet peeve per se, but i do roll my eyes every time.

Somewhat similarly, I occasionally get emails or calls asking if I've heard of this amazing club that I could join, called the Disney Vacation Club.

Yes, I may have heard of it once or twice lol.

My current pet peeve is international guests not being able to purchase MMB. I've asked membership services for an explanation but all I get is 'for legal reasons'. What 'legal reasons'? It's Ok for us to buy DVC, or buy discounted APs or get the discounts but not to give them even more money to buy MMB? I'm guessing it's obvious that I'm more than just a little bit peeved.

Sometimes I wish people would be a little more self aware. Not have their group walking 4-5 abreast when others are trying to get around. Not abruptly stopping in the middle of a walkway, especially with stroller or scooter. Not playing video from a cell phone or iPad out loud. I realize 3 year olds don't love to wait in line for 30 minutes, but the 100 people surrounding you in the queue didn't sign up to listen to Bluey blaring from a tinny phone speaker.

Same for talking on a speakerphone or FaceTiming in public. If hundreds of people all did the same thing, it would be anarchy. Headphones are a thing. And they come in kids' sizes, too.

And the explosion of social media telling every little pixie dust moment in the parks. It has gone from "wow that was nice" to "I have to have this to make my trip perfect because I saw it done for someone else on Tik Tok."
this, 100%. When my kids were little, and a CM would pixie dust us something minor and tiny - like stickers, or letting them re-ride a not-crowded ride on their birthday, etc. It felt really special. We didn't expect any of it, but I feel like now that everyone knows there "might" be a pixie dust moment, it's put a damper on CMs because there's pressure on them to do it.

Maybe my kids are just not cute any more.

Also when the further touch point is available but people wait until the first one is clear.
oof. My kids (and we) sometimes walk around to the second one and scan and go in and the whole party waiting with the first one is just standing there giving us dirty looks. No, we waited and asked if you were going to go to the second touch point first...

Just had to learn the hard way that with a contiguous split stay, you have to wait for your second check-in date to book the rest of your dining reservations, but apparently the LL system will allow you to book LLs for the entirety of your split stay. WHY ARE THEY DIFFERENT?
As a frequent split-stayer who likes TS restaurants, this makes my head explode. (also - I miss TiW!!!)

The shops seem to have all the same stuff
  • If you've been in one, you've been in them all.
This one makes me so sad. I used to get a Disney dress shop dress most trips, and there were also more flattering clothes than just spirit jerseys. :( I like to be dressed a little bit nicer and be "well-groomed" at the parks (lol). As a child I remember special souvenirs that you couldn't find outside a particular park, or could only find at a particular store.

The Guardians photos are my favorite with hair all over the place. You can barely make faces out half the time 🤣
I LOVE those photos though. I once had a whole email exchange with the Disney photopass service requesting my ride photo before realizing, days later, that the "wrong" photo was, in fact, the right photo. 😝

I'll add some more:
  • Entitled guests
  • Guests who use bad language (I can potty mouth with the best of them, but not at Disney. Standards, people!)
  • Drunk guests
This makes it seem like I hate people. I don't, really. I just prefer kinder and more considerate ones.

- Live "tiktoks etc" of riding rides esp due to the loud commentary when in line

- Disney shirts that are OLD and TIRED jokes such as how expensive the day is costing the dad

- Flashes and phone lights on in dark rides

- Rude guests with CMs

- The lines for the buses do not have seats

- Disney prices
The disney shirts about dad made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
