I'm so glad that things worked out!!

I'm second guessing myself as well. And I'm a little upset with myself for doing it. I stepped into a thread last night I wish I had stayed out of. Someone was asking if the dining/deluxe dining plan was worth it. It really is a very valid question. I have asked this same thing myself. But reading all of the responses has me looking at everything again. I have been up since 4:00am printing menus and running numbers. Now I'm just plain confussed.

Before I decided to get DxDP, I decided on our restaurants and went through every menu and guesstimated what we'd order. I added everything up and out total came within $100 of the plan cost, and that didn't include snacks. That being said, we do a lot of character meals.

I am also going to the Braves game tonight so the morning was all out of wack for me. I stopped by no problems and then head off to work. I get to work and turn on computer and what does my outlook remind me. Oh yeah today is ADR day. I forgot. How could I let that slip my mind. Let's just say I spent the next 10 minutes typing really fast. I was able to get everything we wanted, but man I was freaking out. Hope everyone else has just as much when you turn to make ADR's happens.

Oh my! I'm so glad you realized it and were able to get everything! I would have been freaking out too!

Has anyone booked the Fantasmic! package for November??? I read on the Theme park board that a CM said it might be being refurbed but some1 else said they havent released the dates/times yet.....

Good Morning Everyone!!! I see a couple of you were discussing the Deluxe dining plan. We've decided to upgrade as well We're going to try to maximize the value by doing several character breakfasts (Hollywood and Vine, 1900 PF, Ohana, Tusker House), and several signatures (Flying Fish, Artist Point, Citricos). We've always done the regular DP, and we always end up spending more money out of pocket, for breakfast, appetizers, extra snacks, etc. We love to try new places and our kids are starting to enjoy more "adult" foods. I'm sure some people think we're crazy to take them to signatures, but they really are well behaved in restaurants--We eat out quiet often at home!!!

I am still trying for Tusker House on Nov. 16, really want this as we've never done it before. I'm also concerned now about the reason we can't make a Fantasmic ressis yet?! Maybe we'll have luck today

Wow you got it bad lol ! How bout this, I made a Crystal Palace ADR at 8:20am for my first day, but I'm a little sad I'll miss the Welcome show at 9am. Everyone loves getting into the MK when it's pretty empty, but I love the excitement of the show and everyone walking in at the same time so I'm not sure if I'm not going to change it. Usually I'd do 10am after riding for an hour. At the same time I'll be awake at 4am due to jet lag. Hmm.

Does anyone bring a big binder full of menus and such with them? I used to always do that, but then never look in it much. I won't be doing that this time (just a skinny little folder, maybe an inch thick lol!).

So I was looking at the Discounts thread and someone posted they got a FD PIN that covered 'Late Fall' 8/5 to 12/20, with some black-out dates (11-17 to 11-24).

Hopefully itll be a GP discount soon!

Now you have me running the numbers AGAIN I was originally going to upgrade to the DxDP but after sitting down and going through everything that would cost xtra it doesn't add up to the price of upgrading. We are actually still going to save around $500. Now if it were $100 here or there then yes... but $500 is a nice savings. I'm just going to put the xtra expenses on a GC so we're not dealing with a bunch of cash.

Upgrade $1012+ (5people/7nights)
Xtras Est. $515 (2 OOP meals/xtra snacks/appetizers)
Made sure to find the cheapest meals to pay OOP for (Breakfast ) $250
Snacks Est. $7+ X 5people X 5park days (+ a little xtra just in case)
Appetizers $10-15each X 2(sharing) 3meals

I stumbled upon that same thread and I think for us it is worth it with having the kids. But like DH said we like having our meals pre-paid even if it ends up being a wash. But remember if we get FD, you just pay the upgrade price. THere is a difference in the way we order if we get the DP or not. If its oop, we dont choose overly expencive things. If we know its covered on the DP, we always get something we wouldnt normally get. After all its vacation I think I actually prefer having my meals pre-paid. even though we wouldnt normally get an appi or dessert but since its included, we will try different things

I know, you are right. And this is how I normally look at it. I guess that thread just got me in a week moment.

So I currently have 2 resorts booked and I am going to have to cancel 1 today or tomorrow. I have been booked in a GV room at Poly and last night I booked the WL CL. DH is super happy about WL but I'm having a hard time letting go of Poly. I'm more into palm trees and tiki torches than the willderness (althout I find WL beautiful as well).

I understand having an attachment to a resort. That is how I am with the WL. Its just......home.

Okay.....fess up. How many of you have had kinda sorta freak out monents about something with your trip? You know..... Not being sure of your resort, ADRs, to tour or not to tour...........?

ME!!! Thats why I keep moving things around! Since I bought the MVMCP tix, thats final.... so when my ADR's are open that will be final-its hard to find lst minute ADR's for 11 ppl! and then if FD DOES come out...EVERYTHING will be set as there will be no changing at that point. So right now while I have a few days to think, I keep re-arranging.

Several moments. And I am sure more to come. Now I am already planning on how to pack two suitcases. 1 for the World and 1 for the cruise. What if I need something at both places? Do I do 3 bags. 1 for WDW, 1 for Cruise, and 1 for both. I only have me to worry about. Not sure what I would do if I had kids.

How long will you be gone? I know for hubby and I to stay a week, I pack 3 large suitcases, plus the bathroom bag, plus snack and water that we take for the room. Then their are the pillows and I take a quilt. (I don't use the bedspread.) We usually fill one of those carts.

Keep trying. You'll get it. Just remember there are other people out there just like us that is constantly changing.

I think I would be having the same problem! I dream of staying at the Poly (if they ever go DVC I think we are sold) - we got married on Maui, I take hula lessons, a good ukulele song can make me tear up, I think of Hawaiian food as comfort food (mmmm, Loco Moco) etc! But I also want to stay at WL sometime... my husband is not interested at all since its very Pac NW and that is where we live though. Since you already told him about the switch and he is excited I would just make him PROMISE that next time you get the Poly!
