Did the same but opposite. I thought I was quite clever but guess I'm not the only one.;) We booked the return because it was the day after Thanksgiving and I know that will go up before our departing flights. We also decided to apply for the SW credit card with free credits. The credits should pay for the flight out with 4 people. We now just have to hold our breaths that the specific flight we want does not sell out before we get our reward credits. Could be 6-8 weeks.

Agree with others that purchasing the tickets makes it feel real!!:cheer2:

it says that BUT I got the card in a week, made my purchase and 3 weeks later my cycle closed then the day after I had my points

I think EVERYONE should eat at the Castle at least once! I'd book that now, though, and cancel if BOG opens. (fingers crossed here, too!):wizard:

I just checked and there's a 6:40pm ADR available on a day that MK closes at 8pm. Is that too late? Will we be done before Wishes (8pm)?

Moved my arrival date up to November 29th!! My sister and I have decided to fly in Thursday night to make the most of our trip! We're getting in pretty late, but it's worth it! 1 night at POP and then 3 nights at SSR. So excited :yay:

Making our first WDW Xmas trip this Nov 27th-Dec 4th. First time staying at the Contemporary. First Time at the MVMCP. First time seeing the Osborne Lights. A lot of firsts for us. And it's a surprise trip for my daughter's 13th birthday. We're waking her up at 4am and having her watch a home video I will make, kind of "Price is Right" style, saying she has won a fabulous seven night stay at WDW! Then its on the plane at 6am and into Orlando by 1030am. She'll never know what hit her... can't wait!!!!:woohoo:

:thumbsup2 That will be exciting!

I can't believe the price that some of your are getting your airfare for! I wish we could get those kinds of deals up here...a good deal for us is $500 pp (round trip), and even that's hard to find now. The best deal we ever got was $350 pp, and that was in 2006...I don't think we'll ever see those prices again. :sad1:

I'm starting to wonder if it might actually be cheaper to drive to Maine and fly out from there...makes me want to check (we have our flights already, just curious)

I'm in NB, and we're driving to Portland. Definitely more of a jaunt for you but for us the gas to get there is FAR less than what we'd pay with AC or WestJet.

We are planning Nov 23-Dec 1. Our daughter turns 8 on the 23rd and we are surprising her with a trip. We will wake her up on the 22nd to go to the airport :)

If you'd like free dining, you'll need to arrive on 11/15. All the current PIN offers have 11/16-11/22 blacked out. If you arrive on 11/15, though, you can get free dining for your entire stay (assuming that the same offer goes public). I'm pretty sure they've always blacked out Thanksgiving week for FD, so arriving the week before is the only way to get it. We're set to arrive on 11/15 for this very reason. Could you move your dates back a few days? --Katie

I'm so glad you told me that! That makes a huge difference. Thank you! We can push our dates back.

:thumbsup2 I'm glad you can push them back. There's no guarantee that they'll offer free dining, but those of us who are still in the "No free dining club" are sure hoping they do!! The 15th will be your best bet to try and snag free dining. You can call Disney and ask if you have a PIN code attached to your name. Lots of people have one for Free Dining right now. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them :sad1:. Maybe you are, though :goodvibes! --Katie

oh Disney CM....why must you do this to me??

I just called again to check for FD and he repeated my first and last name and said "yes! you have one!" and then asked my dates and tried to apply it and then said "I'm so sorry, this is someone else with your same name"

I can now fly Delta out of Detroit for $292 roundtrip, direct flights. That's cheaper than Airtran out of Flint Bishop by about $30 a ticket. The bad thing is that it's about a 3 hour drive to Detroit from my house. However, SIL lives about 20 minutes from the Detroit Metro and we could drive down the night before and stay at her house. Sounds like a plan, right? We'd take the 8:35 am flight and be in Orlando before noon.

That is just cruel!

WTH? That's ridiculous! Didn't they go through the whole total disclosure thing before even telling you about the possible FD? I always have to give every detail of my life's worth of information before they say anything. If that's the case, then the CM already knew your address and was just messing with you! That's just messed up, man. I'm serious!!!

They did ask all of that and he even verified my email address. I couldn't believe it! I hope the other person with my same name at least knows about it and takes advantage of it - haha

Can you add me to the list at the beginning, please?! We just made a decision to take another trip back to the world!!! I have been trying to find a time to take another trip since we returned from our last trip 2 months ago. I have been scouring the school calendar for days off around weekends but not during busy travel times. Our last couple of trips have been Spring Break/Easter, Thanksgiving and Fourth of July week. I really wanted to travel at a low crowd time. We finally settled on Nov. 2 - Nov. 7. DS has 1/2 day on Nov. 2 and off on Nov. 6th. Hoping for low crowds...keep reading about the start of Jersey week. We are staying at WL - Club. I booked our airfare today. Had been checking out United and JetBlue out of DCA and waited for SW rates today because we prefer BWI. United and JB were basically the same price but factor in baggage fees and JB won that round. SW was ridiculous. Used to love flying SW but they are horrible lately. The cost was $330 round trip and one flight had a stop. So JB it is ($260 R/T) and all booked. We fly out 7:25am 11/2 and return on the 7pm flight 11/7!! I love the flights but DH hates them. He wanted to fly out a little later and come back an hour or two earlier. Oh well - maximum vacation time as far as I'm concerned. I started making a few ADR's but then started getting really tripped up on our daily plan. Plus with on 6 park days I don't want to be bogged down with a bunch of ADR's. I may be the only one not hoping for FD! I want a room only discount. I bought our park tickets on Saturday from Undercover Tourist and booked the room only with AAA discount.
Looking forward to planning another trip!!

Would it be crazy to book an ADR at CRT with 2 boys (11 and almost 5). Right now for our 2nd MK day we are booked at GFC but if BOG opens then we will switch.
But now I'm thinking if BOG isn't open it would be cool to try CRT. This is our 3rd trip and we never even considered CRT as an option with 2 boys.

If we book CRT, we would pay OOP at SciFi to use the credits for CRT?

What do you all think? Also...this would be our Pirate's League day.

Do it! We are going with DS3 and DD16 and I think DS is going to love the attention from the Princesses.

We will be staying WL CL the same time as you. We will be there from Nov. 3-11. You shouldn't see much of an impact from Jersey Week. Those crowds will just start to pick up on your last day (NJ schools are closed the 8th and 9th and some like us take extra days before that).
What are the ages of your children?

Can we be added to the list? Arriving Nov 9th and leaving the 17th. Staying at SSR. ME, DH, DS(13) and DS(8). We are starting off our trip by doing the F&W family 5k, anyone else doing this?
Got my flight down airfare today with points, yay!
DisneyinDel, where are you? We are in Dover and wondering which flight you are on, we booked out of Philly on SW at 7:00.

That is so cool!! My DH and I grew up in Jersey - central. All of our family still lives there and we are always traveling up to visit - weird how Rte. 295 seems to only allow people to travel north but never south...:rotfl:

Our son will be 11 at time of this trip and in 6th grade. Can't believe I will have a middle school child. Ugh!

LOL! It's true about 295! Middle schoolers can be tough so I feel for you but I think you still have a year or two before things get too bad with the teenage stuff. Happy Planning and we will probably see each other in the Old Faithful Club.
