November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

So I turn the big 3-0 in January (dun, dun. duuuuuuun!) and I was hoping to spend the last few days of my 20's eating & drinking my face off in various Parisian cafes. Life, however, had different plans! So, H will not be taking me on my much anticipated trip to Paris in January :( -- but he did say that we can go as a family during the girls Spring break next year (so April 2014)!

Of course I am already setting 3 days/2 nights aside for Disneyland Paris. A pink castle?! Yes, please!

I know there are threads on the Dis dedicated to DLP, but I was wondering if anyone here has been?

I have, but it was back in 2005 and then 2007 for a day trip... both times I got horribly sick on food, but neither was the park's fault. We only went to DLP and not the other park but it was fabulous! ::yes::

Sorry about the postponed trip to Paris. That would have been awesome indeed! May I say a very early but sincere Happy Birthday. May I also say...ahem...I have underwear older than you!:faint: (not really, but I COULD have.:rotfl:)

I'm kind of excited about this 'hard to get' ADR at 7pm....but am wondering about the food?To stem off my other post about Ohana, is anyone even slightly excited about any 'hard to get' ADR's that you were able to score?

I've never eaten at O'hannas and for some reason, we're not that interested, but it's supposed to be very good. We're excited about: Le Cellier lunch, CMC Dinner (New for us Crab Legs-YUM!),CP and CM, 1900 Park Fare Dinner (with Cinderella's stepsisters-they're supposed to be a riot-also new for us).

Forgot to share here! I bought these about 2 weeks ago for our trip!

Adorable!

We'll be there the same time in the new AoA resort and we're looking forward to seeing NPH also!

Hello NJ (From SE PA!)!!! Sorry about your Paris trip being delayed, but I'm sure it will be lovely in the Spring. We'll be in WDW 11/24-30th. I'd love to stay in the CSR some day. It's a beautiful place. Have a wonderful time there!

Tell me about Ohana's. We have a breakfast ressie there and then a dinner ressie there on a different day. I am curious about dinner. Im kind of excited about this 'hard to get' ADR at 7pm....but am wondering about the food?

To stem off my other post about Ohana, is anyone even slightly excited about any 'hard to get' ADR's that you were able to score? I kind of feel like I 'won' some sort of race.... does that sound crazy? I am really excited about my pre RD TH ressie, CRT, BOG and Le Cellier. Kind of getting excited about Ohana's

We heard CRT would be tough to get so we were excited to get a breakfast and a dinner on the last trip. We got Thanksgiving dinner at CRT on this trip too, so we we are pumped about that. We couldn't get O'Hana breakfast last time so my wife wanted to make sure I got it this time and I did. She loves Stitch so she is geeked about that.

F! Was out of reach last trip so we got that this time too. I'm sure BOG will be on the list for the next trip to WDW. We are going to try for a lunch, but it will depend on the crowds for sure.

I forgot to add that we made the discovery this weekend that DD1 is currently at 47 inches tall and DD2 is 39 inches tall. Since they were only about a half inch shorter at the beginning of summer I'm not holding out much hope that they will hit those magical 48 and 40 inch marks in the next two months for our trip. We may have to change a couple of plans for rides as a result. Who knows though, maybe they'll hit a magical growth spurt between now and then right?

My worst nightmare was when my 4 year old was tall enough for Everest! Dad & older brother left us to get in line & the little one started to cry. The extremely nice CM called him over to talk to him then said "I think you may be tall enough. Let's check.". He measured him & with a big smile stamped his hand with the word YETI!!!!!! Which meant I had to ride with him!!!!!!! My one and only time.... :lmao: He rode 4 more times with his brother (and Dad behind them). But not me! :scared:

Hey there, you didn't get too many happy responses so wanted to jump in - we LOVE ohanas for dinner!!! For those of you saying DH lives meat - that they have plenty of. Didnt know I was a serious carnivore until a few of those skewers came by! Kids had a blast with the group dancing, bread was awesome, everyone went away full. My family even prefers it to the breakfast!

Lol that was "DH loves meat". Late and on my iPhone!

Just bought my last round of trip payment gift cards at Target!! This time tomorrow, our trip will be paid off! Now i only have a few million other things to do.

They will split it along with everything else. We always have a large group (17 this year) with multiple rooms and it has never been a problem.

Thank You

ok so 5 are from your room and 2 from another. Yes you have to pay 18% so you will py 18% of your total for the 5 of you and thother ppl would pay theirs. For instance, if your bill is $70 ($10 per person for the sake of math here and my sanity) you would pay 18% of $50 ($9) and they would pay 18% of $20 which would be $3.60. Hope that helps!

I get it now. Thanks for explaining I wasn't sure how it would work.

I just made MVMCP shirts for the adults :) yay!

He's 10 now & taller than me!
My 13 year old was 5'11" last time we checked...

I'm only 5'2".

Now they just leave me sitting on a rock somewhere and ride until they close the doors! I'm so glad I never have to ride that thing again! I think I had my eyes closed the entire time. :scared:

Good Morning Everyone!!!:dance3:

Sounds like everyone's plans are coming together nicely and now we WAIT!!:hourglass

Here's a question of the day:

When do you usually put your Christmas tree up? And is it artificial or real?

I usually have mine up by the first of December. We have had an artificial one for 3 years now. If it were up to me, we would still be cutting our own and have that awesome smell of pine in our house for a month or so. When we did that, we usually put it up two weeks before Christmas. I was seriously depressed the first year we didn't get a live tree, but DH just didn't want to fool with it any more. :sad2: Still, I have wonderful memories of our family of 6 traipsing through the woods and picking out the "perfect" tree, cutting it down and later decorating it together. :santa:

Come on...tell us your stories!:mic:

What got me thinking about Christmas trees was the realization that I'll have to put mine up before my Disney trip since we won't be back home until late Dec 6th! Maybe that will give me something to focus on as the trip gets really close.:thumbsup2
