For all you guys debating holding your kids back....... you're bringing back memories for me. We went through this with our oldest. We sent him and he's always been one of the youngest in his class. He's very smart and could definitely handle the work, but there's so much more to it than that. It was an issue for us every step of the way, he was always just a little "less ready" than the others for whatever the next step was. I thought it was an issue in kindergarten, but didn't really see that it would be an issue all the way through school.

We sent him (he could have read Newsweek magazine to you when he started kindergaten) but it was the wrong decision. How do I know? Now that he's in college, I asked him. He wished we had held him back for all the reasons I stated.

The part I underestimated was the effect of the community around us. Everyone ELSE was holding their young kindergartners back, making him even younger in his group.

So take a deep breath. And learn from my experience.

It really is the right thing. DH and I went out for lunch today w/o the kids and had a nice talk about it. We both feel better today. Like you said its not about doing the work it's more social emotional.

i keep looking at my adr and thinking if i want or need to change any as some i took because i couldnt get better times but now i think i like everything the way it is.

i have a few hesitations. Has anyone done 2 cd in one day? Our epcot day we have akershu breakfast and a gg dinner.

and for our very first park day (ever) i have a cp lunch planned. Is this a good idea for our first day?

Hi and welcome to the board! You will get a more official welcome from the ones better at that soon I'm sure. :) I wanted to reach out regarding your room because I have DVC points that will expire soon and may be able to help you out on that end stay. PM me if interested. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I sent you a PM!

So sorry you can't sleep! But just wanted to let you know you are not the only one watching Christmas movies! ...watching Santa Clause 2 as we speak!!! Lol lol only 4 months away, close enough!!!! Enjoy!!

I love watching Christmas movies long before Christmas gets here. And the Santa Claus series is one of my favorites! :goodvibes I usually end up watching Christmas movies the most when I am sick. Always brings back the best feelings and memories!

My wife and I were thinking about having our family Christmas pictures done at either DHS or MK during our trip by the photopass photographers. The idea would be that at some point during the day we would return to the hotel, get changed into picture outfits and head back to the park and find some good spots for family photos. We're debating on using the pictures from CRT, another spot around MK, or near the Osborne Family Lights display at DHS. Any other good spots that you can think of that might make good Christmas card material?

Are there Photopass photographers at the hotels as well?

There were at Wilderness Lodge when we were there in 2010 at certain times of the day. Not only did they have photographers there for some of the more iconic photo ops, like the geyser, there was also a station to view your existing photos.

Ok i'm not sure how many remember DH school messing everything up, and us giving our savings over. Apparently the VA and the school have sorted everything. Well they have said the money they owe us will be givin back to us in 2 installments, and all monies should be returned around November 1st. Our payment to Disney is Due October 11. I hope that maybe the first part will be to us by then since they will process the 1st half near Oct 3. If not is there anything I can do, or do I just cancel if I don't get the money in time. Oh and that money that was in our savings would have been nice. DH truck broke down 2 nights ago. Luckily he knows how to fix stuff, but now we are really tight. This is why we have a savings. I will add that the VA rep had his paperwork just sitting on her desk, and it messed up everything with the college. Ok ok vent over.. Very frustrating, but atleast at some point we will get it all back. After this I will need our trip to WDW.

Just got back from a full day of shopping at the outlets....whew!! what a day. I was able to get a real nice pair of Nike shoes, really comfy with alot of support to them and I just needed to go up a 1/2 size that's all. Even my DH and Rachel bought a pair- we had a nice bill when it was all said and done but everything was on sale and best part, NO TAX!! I love shopping in DE as we missed the MD no tax week- it was last week. Now we are all ready and we will be one sportin' family with our shoes anyway. Mine are grey and hot pink, Rachel's are grey and peach, and DH are gray and neon green, and Sarah's are a royal blue- she bought hers a few weeks ago. I am getting so psyched now for this trip I can hardly wait, its all going to be so much fun. :)

We will be arriving November 2 and departing the 17th. We will be staying at AOA and then off site at WH.

We will be attending MNSSHP Nov. 2

We will be attending MVMCP Nov.12

Our adr's are a little up in the air as my parents have decided to join us, so i have had to change some ...amd still am! :)

Nov. 6 Sci Fi

Nov. 7 T-Rex

Nov. 14 50's Prime Time

Nov. 16 CRT

Nov. 17 Chef Mickey's

Happy Planning!

Will the first installment that will be presumably arriving at the beginning of October be enough to pay off the Disney payment? Have you decided to just go ahead and move the trip or are you still hoping for November? Maybe with all the new fantasyland opening Dec 6 it would be a good time for a trip in Jan or Feb like you considered? Either way PIXIE DUST all around!!pixiedust: I hope it all works out for you!:goodvibes

Yes the first instalment will be enough. Just not sure if we will get it by the 11. One would think it wouldn't take that long to arrive if done on the 3rd, but nothing suprises me anymore.

It could happen then, so that's good, it's always good when there is a possibility!:goodvibes Did you go ahead and pick out alternative dates just in case? I think I would and make a couple hard to get ADR's if you're 180 days out, and then you can just cancel them when you find out for sure. You wouldn't want to be stuck, at least, I wouldn't.:confused3

Hey y'all!
I am back from Walt Disney World! I started a TR and it is in my signature, if anyone would like to read it.
I had such a great time and I CANNOT wait till November!

I already made ADRs for the last week in January. So far no discounts. I did snag a BOG for January. I hope they bring out discounts, because if not I'm not sure if we can afford it.

I guess 2 charactor meals wouldnt be too much. It would depend on how long you hang out. We were at CP for an hour and a half when we did lunch our first MK day last trip(our very first visit to MK also). It was fine for us. And I think that for an Epcot day it could work. Not that there isnt a lot to do at Epcot but there are also a lot of things that you could skip in favor of more time at charactor meals.

Does anyone know if desert party is really sold out Nov 21 or are they just not taking reservations yet?

I don't believe ressies have opened up yet.
