Has anyone signed up for the Southwest cc? with the 2 free flights? I just did and got approved-not that I need another cc BUT I like the 2 free roundtrip flights-will save us about $500!

I would have to call about the timing of the points awarded. Small print says 6-8 weeks after 1st purchase. Southwest fares for my travel are to be released next month.

If my wife and I each get our own card, that would be $1666 in fares we would earn (60 points per $1 in fare).

In 6 to 8 weeks from award, fares could already be booked since small print also says redeem for wanna get away fares. Doesn't explicitly say you can redeem them for any other fare type.

EDIT: Redemption rates:

60 points per $1 (wanna get away)

100 points per $1 (anytime)

120 points per $1 (business select)

If I remember correctly, as soon as I got my credit card, I went online and registered for Southwest Rewards, then I immediately made a small purchase online from Amazon (something I needed anyway). I was able to look online and see my points within a week or so, but it took a month or so to receive my Rewards card (different from credit card) in the mail.

ETA: Be sure to write down your Rewards number when you register. You'll need this when you book flights if you want to use your rewards points.

I am not even close to being done. Hopefully I will get done this album before we go on our next trip :lmao:

My friends mom has asked me to help price out a vacation for november. We went last November staying at POR with free dining. Any word on free dining and what plan for what hotels? I thought I read something awhile back about now only getting free quick service at mods? Their party would be 3 adults and 4 kids ages 3-11. I priced out two rooms at POR just to get a ballpark idea. I don't think I booked mine until around August but is it still a good idea to put a hold on rooms. They want to go as cheap as possible. Airfare is crazy high I'm hoping it's because it's so far out?

Nothing comes out this far away. Usually about August. Some ppl have been getting free QSDP and other ppl get the reg DP but I think the general public discount has been reg dining plan. Yes it is a good idea to book the rooms now. What about a value resort?

Beautiful!!! I've made a couple of my own Diz scrapbooks but nothing this cool. Are these Diz pre-made pages or did you do it all yourself (lettering, layout, etc)?

Love them! I used to scrapbook, but just don't have the time. Well, I might have a little time if I weren't so busy Dis-ing! :rotfl: But what's a girl gonna do? :confused3 ;)

Who is NOT going with the ddp? Just curious. It seems like if you do one character meal in a day it pays for itself, no?

Thanks!

Currently, my family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers (technically adults per Disney standards), are not able to get the DDP because we have a AAA room only discount. I would love to add the DDP, but I cannot unless I am able to take advantage or a public discount during our travel dates or am lucky enough to get a PIN code. I have already done the math and the DDP would save us $300-$400, so I am really hoping to be able to add this. I did find out that I can get the dining plan if I book my vacation through AAA, but I am nervous about locking my reservation in with AAA vs. Disney because AAA charges $25 to book the vacation for us, $200 for any changes that need to be made, and their quote for the DDP was slightly higher than what I figured it would be when getting a quote online from Disney.

Anyone that's been for Thanksgiving, can you recommend a place that you've been to with a decent traditional Thanksgiving meal?

When we went during Thanksgiving during 2003, we made ADR's late and did not get to eat where we originally wanted, Liberty Tree Cavern. Instead, we had Thanksgiving dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge and ended up having a fabulous time and meal. I think this worked out really well because we had dinner at Liberty Tree Cavern another day in the week and still enjoyed the same meal that we would have on Thanksgiving due to their menu.

I may have missed it, so if you are already answered this, I am sorry! But, did you say found your pin when you called, or did you get something by mail?

I'm sorry - I didn't mention that! I received a card in the mail from Disney Destinations - it's a tri-fold card about 10 " x 16 " big and it looks like a game board. It was personally addressed to us and referenced that we were planning a trip for November, which is what I have been searching/saving on the Diz website for the past month or so.

Okay...as everyone...well any one who was paying attention to my posts...LOL...knows that I was freaking out about coming during Thanksgiving. My family and I have discussed it and I think we are going to move our trip to November 8-16. Staying still in a 1br OKW villa...but I feel much better about it. My college age daughter will have her trip cut a little but still be able to spend 5 days there...and with the lower crowd levels...I think see just as much OR MORE....so happiness all around!!!! :rotfl:

Still have to make the actual change...but that is what I'm doing....I think!!!:lmao:

Park hours through November 21 seem to be up on WDW site! :hyper:

It only lets me go up through 11/12 though if you click one of those days in Nov, it lists hours per park through the 16th. It seems to match the TA hours though, I do not see any differences yet

Now all we need is MVMCP dates and ticket prices, as I am ready to buy!
