Hi Kimberly! Welcome Aboard!! Looks like we will have a nice variety of folks joining the November Nauticals aboard the Wonder. Now if we could just hijack the ship and turn it into a 7-day cruise with several stops at Castaway Cay..... Anybody for a mutiny onboard the Wonder?? ;)

I'm in for a mutiny! pirate:

I am willing to hide out on Castaway but only if we can get that Jack Sparrow to stay with us lol!

::yes:: :love:

Hello Kimberly!!!!
How nice to have an adults only weekend!!! ENJOY!!!! I am a divorced mother of 2(who will be on the cruise along with my neice) and actually, last year, I took my kids on a 3 night Carnival cruise just to get away and I had so much down time since the kids were active in the clubs!!! I was a bit lonely!!! But it was GREAT to get away and RELAX!!!
Ellen

I know, I am excited to relax, lay back, close my eyes to the sun and not worry about anyone drowning or falling off of the ship for once.

How was the Carnival cruise? I've never taken anything but Disney.

Disney VS. Carnival.....
Thats a tough one!!! There are actually things on both that I liked better. As far as a 3 night cruise, Disney is the best....The 3 night on Carnival was out of Port Canaveral on the Sensation. It was nice, but the ship was showing her age. Hands down, I lOVE Disney for the fact of going to Castaway Cay!!! We have been on 2 other Carnival cruises also, a 6 night on the Liberty and a 7 night on the Glory. These ships were wonderful!!! We are booked for this spring on the Legend out of Tampa for a 7 night. I have found we can cruise Carnival for about half of the cost of Disney. IMHO....I think the food is better on Carnival but as for entertainment, Disney is best for "family time". There is just something about that "Disney atmosphere" that cant compare. Carnival seems to cater more to adults. My kids (Valerie 12 and Thomas 10) both had a blast in the kids clubs on Carnival. We all just absolutely LOVE CRUISING!!! Its addictive!!!

:disrocks:One more comment.....I have been involved with Carnival Connections....something like the DisBoards, but THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!! I can not tell you how much I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in this and other threads. Everyone is so kind. There is no such thing as the FE or magnet exchange and that alone has REALLY enhanced my excitement for our upcoming trip. Its nice to share your enthusiasm and look forward to possibly meeting on the cruise!!!

Hiya,
I took a census and we can add you to our FE. I just need your cabin number and email address. I am having some puter problems so if someone can add you to the list that would be great!
Thanks,
Chris

I just PM'd pixie3 and once I hear back I will add their info to the list and resend to everyone.

On another note, the door magnet exchange list is now closed. Eight cabins are participating and the final list has been PM'd to the participants. Thanks for all who've committed to participate. The doors will look great I'm sure.

I sent a note to gmark but will also ask here. This is our first magnet exchange. How large are the magnets that guests exchange? Full size sheet? Refrigerator magnet size? Something in between? Any particular size?
Thanks in advance.

This was our door in 2008. Mardis Gras and the Lunar New Year happened to be during the cruise too, not to mention the Super Bowl. The magnets exchanged are usually refrigerator-sized. The big signage was what I made.

Hey guys and gals! Or should I call us the "November Nauticals?" November 19th will be here before you know it, and hopefully we'll all get a chance to meet each other and say, "Hello!"

You miss a lot when you don't check the board here for a few days, so I have a few questions. Aparently there have been several versions of the fish extender list. Could I please get the latest version? Remember, I'm on a MAC, so I'll need a version compatible with my word processing program-Pages.

Also, I am participating in the door magnet "exchange." Speaking of the "exchange" part, how is that done? Several of my magnets are personalized, and while I wouldn't mind "exchanging" magnets, I don't want to part with our personalized ones. Can someone explain exactly how we do this?

Last but not least, I suppose those of us that can need to fianlize a definite meeting place, date and time on the ship where we can all get to know one-another. Please let me know what you guys are thinking!

Can't wait for this cruise, but WOW have you guys seen the announcements made hust today about the DCL Disney Dream sailing in 2011??? It's AWESOME! It even has an onboard watercoaster called the Aquaduck which literally partially sticks out over the edge of the ship! Check it the DCL website for more!

See y'all soon!!!

You can certainly decorate your own door but you will also bring a supply to exchange with others. That is, you'll merrily go on a scavenger hunt through the ship placing magnetics on the participating stateroom doors. No one will be taking magnets off of your door (as part of the exchange).

Some will bring stock magnets representing their home, some make their own magnets. Some personalize the magnet such to identify the gifting family.

This past February, I was ambitious and made these:

As you'll see it says "Disney Magic, Eastern - St. Croix, January 31, 2009, DISboards.com, "gmark2000""

But you can do anything you want.

Mike,
I bought my magnetic paper off ebay and you can find it at Office Max too! You use it with your regular printer to make magnets. I made magnets in March and gave them away as part of my FE gifts but am excited to be doing it separate. Like Mark said you can do something representative of your family or where your from. For me I am a Pirate's fanatic so expect one of mine to be that lol! There are threads here devoted just to magnets. So have some fun:cool1:
Christine

You'll note that I personalize my own signage so that people won't steal them. Opportunistic thieves will take generic decorations but this is not very common - usually bored kids.

So, gmark2000, does adding MainStreetMugs to the magnet exchange make it 9 people total? Or are we still at 8? Thanks.

Excellent door, Gary! Colorful and full of fun, too. :thumbsup2

Happy Halloween Everybody! It's in the 40's here today and we have nighttime trick or treat so I don't expect to be out too long! My oldest is going with her friend(she's too old to be with her parents lol!) and I am taking my 4 year old out. Have fun everyone!
P.S. My DH works at Walgreen's and found Claire a new Pirate dress for cheap that lights up! That should be cool for the Pirates in the Caribbean Party!

Halloween was a blast...my teens made a haunted garage and we had a huge turnout! Well over 100. I am now in vacation mode. I started some of my FE items yesterday and I think I kinda bit off a big chunk! I hope you all like them....my daughter said she would help if I need! See you all in 18 days:cool1:

Actually, I kinda hope it gets delayed, so we can see it from the ship! That opuld be AWESOME!

I hope it gets delayed too! We won't get to Pop until at least 3 I am guessing on the 16th. And I don't think we can see it from there anyway?

We've decided to try to make it to Beaches and Cream this trip so we can have the "Kitchen Sink!" Hopefully we can get some others to share with uspopcorn::

I am starting to pack today! Can't be in the sun quick enough. It's been dipping in the 40's during the day and 30's at nights.
