November 19, 2009 3-day Wonder Cruise

Yippy Skippy. I just booked us on the inaugural Dream cruise. :cool1:

Actually, I kinda hope it gets delayed, so we can see it from the ship! That opuld be AWESOME!

I hope we get to see it from the ship, too!

I hope it gets delayed too! We won't get to Pop until at least 3 I am guessing on the 16th. And I don't think we can see it from there anyway?

We've decided to try to make it to Beaches and Cream this trip so we can have the "Kitchen Sink!" Hopefully we can get some others to share with uspopcorn::

We saw the shuttle take off last time from Hollwood Studios. You could definately see it. It was very cool. (or cool to someone who doesn't live in FLA, I guess)

We love the kitchen sink! Have fun with that!

Anyone know when the shuttle's set to take off?
Ok if anyone wants to share this Kitchen Sink with us let us know! I think we are going to go to the Beach Club on the 16th probably after hitting downtown Disney. I can text you if you PM me your cell lol ;) The Dream looks awesome but we probably won't be able to do that for a few more years;)

Hey guys and gals! Or should I call us the "November Nauticals?" November 19th will be here before you know it, and hopefully we'll all get a chance to meet each other and say, "Hello!"

I suppose those of us that can need to fianlize a definite meeting place, date and time on the ship where we can all get to know one-another. Please let me know what you guys are thinking!

See y'all soon!!!

I think we should meet on Thursday at 3 pm in the main lobby. It is nice and central, easy to find and generally fairly peaceful as most everyone has boarded and is off exploring the ship. I assume that most DIS people will have gotten on as early as possible, had lunch and gotten settled in already. The madatory safety drill thing is at 4pm, so we can have time to say hello and still make it back to our cabins in time to don the lovely orange vests.

The main doors of Triton's face out to the lobby. I'm 99% certain that there is a statue of some sort right there (on the Magic it is Mickey Mouse but I don't recall if it is MM on the Wonder or it might be Ariel). Anyway, I say we make this our meeting place.

If there is anyone out there who isn't sure about coming to the meet I'd like to encourage you to try to fit it in. Even if you just stay a few minutes it is really nice to put a face to the people that you've been chatting with and I personally like seeing "people I know" all around the boat.

I think 3pm would be a good time for the meet and greet. And I'm pretty sure it is Ariel's statue outside Triton's. For you newbies it's on Deck 3 midship, you'll see it when you board the ship if you look around (I think it's to your left).

The shuttle is a go for launch at 2:28pm on Monday, Nov 16th, according to the NASA web site today. We're going to try and watch it from the 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary Resort. Hopefully Bay Lake Towers won't block the view.

We were on the Wonder in Dec 07 when a shuttle launch was scheduled and we were out on deck waiting for the launch with binoculars when they announced it had been postponed for a few days. Hopefully this launch will go either on the 16th or the 19th!

CONGRATULATIONS! We're going to wait and book a 2011 cruise once we get onboard the Wonder and hope for a good discount. But I'm sure that inaugural cruise is going to fill up quickly.

Beaches and Cream is an AWESOME ice cream parlor that also serves sit down meals. They don't take reservations, however, so you may have a bit of a wait. They have really good burgers and the Kitchen Sink.....it's every flavor of ice cream and topping; sprinkles, brownies, cherries, etc.

It is located very close to Storm-a-long bay on the lake side of the Yacht and Beach Club.

Thanks for the info!!!
I will have to take the kids there sometime and check it out!!! It sounds great!!!

3pm for the meet sounds good to me. :thumbsup2 I finally finished my FE gift shopping today! It looks like I am going to ship the box to POP so I don't have to worry about going through security at the air port.
Looks like I am canceling my Chef Mickey's. I am on the meal plan and would have had to pay out of pocket for that one as I used all my TS credits. Oh well there is always next time lol! I still have Askershus so I am sure we will have a great time :)

This sounds awesome, wish I could partake but I am lactose intolerant so ice cream is a total no,no.:sad2: We are also hoping for the shuttle to launch hopefully on the 16th or 19th. We have been told you can see it from inside the parks and coming from Canada, this will be a real treat for us.
As for the meet, Kent and I will put it in our notes. Not sure if we will make it due to using DCL's transportation on the 19th we've been told we will not likely arrive to the ship until 1pm so we may still be exploring at 3pm but we'll try to pass by that area at 3pm.
We're on the home stretch now, I can't wait. Here's hoping the next 11 days go by fast.

Chris, Since you're going to Epcot for Askerhus, have you ever done the Kim Possible Mission??? When I took the kids , we didnt know what to expect but WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Its like an electronic scavenger hunt. They lend you a "communicator" (cell phone) to use on your missions . We ended up completing 3 missions. We even saw adult couples having fun with it!!!

That sounds good. It will probably just be my husband and myself. I like being able to put a face to a name, too!

I thought about that, but really wanted the inaugural. Believe it or not, there doesn't seem to be much interest in this cruise. :confused3 I didn't really wait at all this morning. I even called back later and changed my room numbers. I got right through and then changed them with no problem.

OOH Beaches and Cream. We like the kitchen sink, but there is a sundae with peanut butter and chocolate that is to die for.

We have been told you can see it from inside the parks and coming from Canada, this will be a real treat for us.

We could see it no problem from Hollywood Studios. It was amazing. You could even see it separate.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kim Possible Mission. I think my daughter and I will have fun with it. It is now on our to do list!

It really was fun. Something I would have passed up if a friend of mine hadn't told me about it. I think their favorite mission was the one in Germany. I dont want to spoil the surprises, but there were some really cool special effects!!! Valerie and Thomas said they cant wait to go back and complete all of the missions!!!

Excuse me, Vet, but since it's Kim Possible's mission, it's called a KIMmunicator! :lmao:

We want to try that, too. It sounds like a lot of fun for both kids and adults. :thumbsup2

We are going to try to do Test Track. Every time we go the wait is horrible even with Fast Pass. That Kim Possible thing sounds neat too!

Test Track is always crazy. We either do fast pass or single rider line. Soarin' is always crazy, too.

WE thought Kim Possible was fun, but FIL was with us and he was bored. He felt like we were wasting precious "Disney time". I guess it depends who your with.
