Hey, don't worry about the packing, we haven't started yet either.

So, you are flying to Florida on the day of the cruise?

When will you get to the ship?

Good idea videotaping the surprise. That is going to be priceless!

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Haaaaa!! Thanx...I don't feel so bad now! :)

Yeah, we're flying in the day of, and now I'm wondering if that's a mistake. When I booked, I didn't even think about the possibilities of delays. We're going to try to fly standby on the flight that leaves before ours. I just hope that there will be no problems at all.

I don't know what time we will get to the ship. Our original flight is expected to arrive in Orlando at 10:30. Then I've gotta pick up the rental and drive out there, drop it off, and get the shuttle to the port. I've never done this cruise before, so I have no idea how long it might take for everything. I'm hoping to be there by 1:00 at the latest. Now if we get to catch the earlier flight, that would help immensely. I think that one would have us arriving in Orlando around 9:30. Maybe we could make it to the port by 12 at the latest. :confused3

I am with you my dear friend!I am having a bad week.We have been having problems with our 2002 Saturn Vue,and we have been dealing with it since last Thursday.Well, today we had to have the truck towed. Here again the truck didn't do to them what it did to us.They fixed the column, and key keeps gettng stuck.Well,we leave dealershop tonight to get one of my dckids home, and here we go again.I went straight to dealership, and we are about to trade our vue in for a 2006.We have had enough! They are giving us a great deal. The new one is loaded, and we prefer it not to be.It is a deal we can't pass, and it will get us out of our LEMON!By the time Saturday gets here,I am going to be helping you drink the bar dry!

Maria

Maria...sorry I didn't get to the earlier.....GM is going to add some HUGE incentives on new vehicles in the next couple of weeks....New cars ARE NOT selling!!!

Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. The weather looks great, and your daughter is going to be so thrilled, it is going to go fast.

Paul's posting of photos of his BRB cruise got me to thinking about some of our past cruises. I found a photo album from a cruise we took on the BRB back in June, 1997. In that time frame, we had a group from my daughter's school who would take a three night BRB cruise each summer as soon as school got out. We could usually catch an off season rate, and get a great deal. There was no DCL back then, hard to imagine now.

Anyway, we are looking through the photos. Our oldest DD is now 14 and a HS freshman. She is still friends with a lot of the kids in the photos. Man, do they change a lot in 8 years.

Here is our embarkation photo from the June 1997 BRB. I look the same now, except I might have put on a few pounds since then, and my hair is not quite as brown. DW still looks great. DD thinks that she looks like a dork. Can't believe mom made her wear the hat. Truth is, she used to love to dress like that.

Some day, this cruise that we are about to take will stir up warm memories for all of us. Let's make the most of it!

We are flying in on Saturday at 11:03. It never crossed my mind to go the day before until it was too late. They tell me I will arrive at the port around 12:30-1 so I should be fine. We have a long drive to the airport and need to be there at 5:00 so I decided to stay at the Marriott by the hotel on Friday night. So my son and I will have a pre-cruise vacation. That will also keep me from staying up all night throwing more stuff in the suit case. I know I am over packed but I want to dress up every night. I can wear shorts and t-shirts to eat every day but I would look really crazy in McDonalds wearing a glittery dress. I will be easy to spot, most of my cloths have rhinestones! I would really like to go get me one of those pretty Cinderella dresses for the Princess autograph party but I guess that would be a little too much! :rotfl: I am so EXCITED!! :Pinkbounc

So either my daughter knows about this trip and is playing me, or she really doesn't know, and I'm about to pull of the surprise of her lifetime!

We're sitting at her eye appt. after school yesterday, and she announces to moe that some kid in one of her classes told the teacher that he won't be in school later in the week cuz he's going on a cruise with his parents. I ask where he's going and she tells me to Aruba and Florida. I say "oh. Sounds like it will be nice. I wish I could afford to take you on a cruise too." She says, "That's okay. One day you will." I say, "Yeah, I sure hope so. I'm sorry." I throw in a really sad look while I'm at it (I'm an actress, btw!). She's like, "I understand. It's okay. I don't have to go on a cruise somewhere." hehehe. When we get home, it gets mentioned to my Mom about this boy going on a cruise, and she plays along as well. I ask my daughter, "Well if we can go on a cruise, where would you like to go?" She says, "Cayman Islands." I say,"Wow. That would be nice, huh? Well I'll see what I can do, but I'm not making any promises." She says, "Okay." Then I come to my desk and play around with our door sign some more! :rotfl2:

Sooooooooooooo...I'm thinking that she really doesn't know about the trip, but I'm not so sure. She kept asking me to look into getting her involved in acting. If she knows and was stringing me along yesterday, I will be getting her an agent as soon as we get back from the cruise!!

BTW...I haven't even begun to pack yet! :teeth:

You must be a pretty good actress if you have kept it from her all this time. Or she is playing you. :rolleyes1

I'm like you guys, not a whole lot of packing going on today because I keep checking these boards. Happy to hear we are still going to CC 2X, I would have been a little disappointed if it had been changed. This has been the most laid back I've been about packing for a vacation, don't know why. Hubby had a back spasm yesterday that almost sent him to the ER. Do you think he's trying to get out of carrying the suitcases?

GHharmon-there are two of us Gina's so are we going to be Texas Gina and CT Gina like Molli from OH and Mrs. TCD Molly? :)

Texas Gina is fine with me. I think we have son's around the same age, too.

Hey Julia,

You had asked when we are going over to Florida. We are leaving Lumberton at 5'ish Thursday evening and driving to Houston.(About an hour and a half) our flight leaves Bush at 9:00 PM. We are staying at Hard Rock Hotel Thursday night and Friday night. Then heading for the port at 9:00 Am Saturday.

We had a front blow through last night with some wind and rain. Half of my roof is covered with a big blue tarp, due to good old Rita. I was up late with my flashlight in the attic looking for leaks. Any of you guys have a roofing business? Come on down to East Texas and get rich. Waiting lists with roofers are in the months.

AlreadyexcitedGrammy is in room 2611 not 2641

thanks for the list Gina!!

Margarita Tasting? DW Kelli will be first in line for that one. We have been experimenting with margarita recipes all summer. That was, until the Gulf of Mexico sent us one BIG OLE RITA. :rotfl2:

Before I go to bed, guess what I found in my scrapbook(I never started)?! The Thanksgiving of 04 Menu. I have three of them...they are as good as new...no spills or rips on them. For those who want to order lobster tail for Thanksgiving...here's what it says....presented in the shell with Lemon Butter, Sauteed Young Green Beans and Saffron Braised Yellow Rice...mmmm. Chef's Recommendations for a sweet tooth is Pumpkin Cheesecake with a fresh berry sauce. Should I go on?????? Getting excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
